This is an awesome ice cream shop. Space has a great old wood floor and cool tile ceiling. Everything is very colorful! Staff person was very friendly and gave very generous servings. I paid $3.50 for a single scoop. See my picture for how big that scoop was! I was able to split my scoop and got coconut and dark chocolate. Yum. You can get in a cup or cone and there is not an extra charge for your cone. At the checkout there was even a container of dog biscuits so I assume your furry friend is welcome too. You can enter the building from the back where there is a large public parking lot or from the front where there is street parking. Ice cream was very good! There is a small game area too with a couple video games.
Main Street Scoops is a classic ice cream parlor along the main street in beautiful Washington North Carolina. The staff is really customer friendly, and the tables are always kept clean (which is important in an ide cream shop!). A nice fun stop as you walk through the area and it's just one block away from the beautiful waterfront of the Pamlico River

I always love to stop and get some ice cream after a walk at the waterfront. I have always had a great experience no matter who helps my family and I. They have a variety of ice cream flavors and also milk shakes and coffee drinks.
We stopped in on a Thursday evening and shared a banana split. It was delicious and although there was a long line, it moved quickly and service was friendly!
This ice cream shop is excellent. I stopped in one afternoon on my day off. Let me tell you i was thoroughly impressed . I was going to have the banana split or the turtle split. Decisions Decisions ! I opted for the butter pecan scoops in cinnamon shell. It was fantastic. I sat outside on the bench on Main Street in Washington NC. There was a slight relaxing breeze . What a way to spend the afternoon. The customer service was excellent too. You are free to sample flavors to aide in your choices. I highly recommend. There are booths and tables inside the shop for inside dining. Very inexpensive.
Main Street Scoops is one of the best ice cream shops I’ve ever patronized! It’s family owned and the staff is polite and friendly. They greet everyone walking in the door.
They carry Hersheys brand ice cream and also have a coffee selection- frappes- iced- etc. You will have to look hard to find an ice cream shop that has more flavors than Scoops! If you dream in Rocky Road, Coconut Almond, or any other flavor of Hersheys ice cream you NEED to stop here when in Washington, NC!!
Their prices are super reasonable and for 2 people - each getting 2 scoops on a waffle cone- it’s around $10! They have ample air conditioned seating, and also have a few arcade games. Their decor is a classic old time ice cream shop and they’ve won many local awards for their quality.
This shop is convenient to the waterfront if you’re traveling by boat or a short walk in the historic downtown district. We can’t say enough great things about Main Street Scoops and we’re regulars there!

Good variety, large scoops in the waffle cone. Friendly efficient staff. Ice cream is brand but not local or homemade, that would be ideal in a small town like this.
Wow! I didn't know this ice cream shop existed until today when we rode up with the New Bern Harley Riders. The Scoops Ice Cream shop is a step back in time and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The Peach ice cream was creamy and smooth with real peaches. I am looking forward to a return trip to Scoops Ice Cream Parlor! What a fantastic delight! The entire group of us enjoyed the business.
Love this place. They even have seasonal ice cream Key Lime pie in the summer or Apple Pie Crisp in the fall. Either way, it is YUM!
I've been going to Scoops in little Washington, NC since 1990. They have the best ice cream, and the atmosphere is great, especially at Christmas when they go all out on decorating.
It feels like back in old days ice cream place. Awesome place and services. You guys got to try this place out.

Scoops is ALWAYS GOOD. I love its location the beautiful Washington waterfront. the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and quick with their sometimes busy customers. Jocelyn loves her one scoop in a cup of Normally lemon 🍋 (yes lemon) ice cream 🍦 😋 and I have if lately started ordering the 🍌 banana pudding ice cream milkshake that they make with milk and add real banana fo it too its SOOOO GOOD.
