India Gate - Washington DC - Photo album

Hardworking family owned business. Food and flavor was excellent. We shared many plates and they were all good.
Food was excellent. The tikka masala was a bit different than I'm used to, but still good. The korma was excellent and the Naan was delicious and perfectly cooked. All served with a nicely made bowl of fluffy rice. Food is very affordable for this part of DC. It almost feels like this is a differen
Just ate here and it’s not as bad as a lot of the reviews. Food is decent; not top notch, but it gets the job done. Overpriced? Sure. Everything is in DC. Doesn’t deserve the 1 stars. The old man that works there seems like he’s doing everything himself and he was very nice.
It is extremely obvious that this institution has been maliciously review-bombed which is a shame because my friends and I got takeout from here and all agreed it was very good. Makhani and Tikka masala were excellent, did not love the saag personally but it was not bad. Do not trust the obviously f
India Gate is a hidden gem off DuPont Circle. Family run, the service is friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food is delicious and well-portioned — we ordered Korma and Vindaloo and were very happy. My mango lassi was freshly puréed (so good!) and they have a full bar, which was great for
Flavors were on point. Reasonably priced. Was wondering why it was empty. Can't believe ppl are giving this place low stars based on the buffet. Order off the menu and stop being cheap. Service was face and pleasant.
The owners were very friendly, the rice was fluffy, and the chana was very flavorful. It was very empty the weekday that I visited during lunch. If you want to avoid a crowd at lunch and enjoy Indian food, I recommend India Gate.
We stopped in on a quiet Sunday a few weeks ago and the couple that own the restaurant helped us pick a few dishes and we enjoyed it very much! Hospitable owners with great food.
Probably more accurately 3.5 stars. But honestly, not nearly as bad as the reviews make it out to be. The vindaloo was quite nice and spicy. I enjoyed it. Was it the best Inidian food I've had? No, but certainly not the worst.
Tastes like homemade Indian food. I love this place. Just read a bunch of the other reviews on here. A few additional comments: this food is not super rich, thick or buttery which, to be honest, I get annoyed by most Indian restaurants. That stuff feels so unhealthy whereas this food tastes light, d
Wonderfully unique flavors, good portions, and relaxing atmosphere. If you want a delicious, off-the-beaten path spot to impress your friends, go here. Good spot for a date, too. Staff was SUPER sweet and friendly. We enjoyed taking to them. (And great Indian beer!)
