I wish I could give a 10 star! Our experience was top notch. Our server was extremely sweet. After a terrible experience at a different restaurant prior they took care of us and turned our whole night around! Thank you so so much 🩷 we will definitely be back!!!

Went to Donahue last minute and the reception was great! The doorman was amazing and kind. He was very friendly and my friend and I were seated in a very short period! Will surely be back!

Wow what a pleasant surprise! Even though this place felt more like a lounge (and maybe better known as a lounge?), their food and service were top notch! Our night started a little rocky: my husband wore flip flops so we were informed we need to sit outside (watch out for those dress codes!!). Well we all know how DC summers can be—hot, humid, and BUGS all over. I wasn’t anticipating sitting outside so I was not prepared at all and started getting bitten. I then asked our waitress if they had bug spray. They did so I used it. The table next to us was having the same issue so they spoke with the waitress about sitting inside (esp since there was no one else dining inside at the time) so they moved inside. By now my husband was sweating (in addition to me getting bitten) so we also asked to sit inside and they agreed without hesitation. Very accommodating which I really appreciated! Now onto the dinner experience. We tried the chambongs which was fun! All the food we had were high quality and delicious too. Our waitress was also extremely attentive and friendly which totally made this experience A+. The only recommendation I would give would be that for summer time, if people need to be seated outside, then maybe consider getting fans to keep cool and bug repellent so bugs stay away. But overall, fantastic dining experience and would definitely come back.

Wonderful all around. The receptionist, Mr. Collins is a gentleman personified. Luca a great host, and Michael the best bartender. Highly recommended as a great place to get together.

Let me tell you about Donahue…fantastic service - thank you Chen - super fun atmosphere perfect for a girls night out - and the FOOD!!! I think our group tried just about every plate and from the short ribs (best I’ve had) to the surf and turf to the shrimp cocktail and everything in between was phenomenal. We also tried the Cham-bongs and sampled the cocktail menu which was also top notch. If you are in the DC area give Donahue a try. I know I will be back for future visits.

I visited Donahue last weekend when I was in DC with my girlfriends. We had a phenomenal experience. The food was so delicious. I think we tried almost everything on the menu and were very satisfied with everything we got. Some of my favorites were the Ceviche, Surf and Turf, Burrata, and the Short Ribs - it’s so hard to pick just a few! The food made the experience worth it on its own, but we also had an amazing server, Chen. She was so attentive and gave great insights to the menu when we were making our selections. We loved her. I definitely look forward to visiting Donahue again when I am back in DC.

Started off a nice evening here, great vibe with surprisingly good food and engaging service by the friendly staff. The Pan Seared Scallop (Saffron & Mandarin Cream) was incredible. Mouth-watering flavor, the Mandarin cream was indulgent, and the succulent scallops paired perfectly. The Ricotta Ravioli (Mushroom. Spinach) was nearly as good, and the rich sauce begged to be sopped up with some bread (which we requested and they provided). Beef Dumplings (Soy & Sesame Glaze) were excellent, the dumplings delicate and filled with tender, juicy savory beef. Papas Bravas (Chipotle Aioli. Aromatics) were good, a creative preparation, but just not at the same level as the other dishes. Cocktails were excellent as well. Looking forward to returning to try more things of the menu.

Last Wednesday evening, on 6/28/23, I had an awesome experience at Donahue. I'm a notoriously finicky eater, so for me to laud a place, it's got to be genuinely outstanding. Their tapas are second-to-none and bring a Latin flair to each dish. I didn’t find a single item that I didn’t wholeheartedly enjoy. I especially recommend the sea bass ceviche, the tuna tarter, and the cocktails (where were creative and delicious). As a former waiter in fine dining, I can tell you that the service staff's attention to detail was impeccable, creating an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication. They truly understand the art of subtle hospitality.

Great food, specially the braised short rib!! Drinks are cute and tasty! I tried the Donahue and loved it. I don't like the atmosphere in their dining room but love the lounge area, where you can have dinner too! The staff are very kind and did wonderful taking care of our large group! Donahue is my new favorite place in Georgetown.

This rather non-descript hidden gem is more of what DC needs. A bit swanky but not over the top cocktail bar with a few select bites. The short ribs are to DIE for also the caviar martini special is a great buy. Also try the shrimp cocktail. Service and staff were in point. I recommend making reservations. This is the place to see and be seen!!
