I went here when dropping my daughter off at school. Its Nostalgic, I guess. Very Vintage, but not on purpose. It's like going over Grandma's house and everyone is there. I had breakfast scrapple, grits and eggs. Just like I remember eating many years ago.

Torrie's is a Southern diner with great food and slow service. We go for breakfast and usually get crab cakes or a pork chop to take home. Did just that yesterday.

Great fried chicken, attentive and generous service. Was looking for breakfast, ended up here because of their easy and free parking. Chicken is cooked to order so takes about 20mns but they brought us some cornbread muffins for the wait.

Man what a quaint little find! After leaving a funeral, my mom wanted to grab a bite to eat before we done back to Baltimore. We drove up 7th Street toward our old house in search of a spot. As we crossed Florida Ave she spied this place and we went in. Best damn meal we've had in a long time for less than $15 for the both of us! Decor was really eclectic but fitting for a DC staple. Lots of memorabilia on the walls. Fun to look at it. Servers were warm and friendly. Portion size was good too. We had vegetables omelets with a side, me home fries, my mom grits, and we both had toast. Perfectly cooked omelet. We are it all..... Plates cleaned!!! If in DC again if definitely go back here

I went there today 5/18/18 and the food was BOMB DELICIOUS. Had Catfish Dinner and Chicken Wing Dinner. And a Piece of cake. Yummy....I thought I was over priced for my food but WAS NOT after she added the taxes ( I forgot all about taxes lol) the reason that I’m giving it 4 stars is because when I called her to see what I was charged for.... a Man picked up and I ask him about the prices and he said are you done cause cause I got to go.That was very rude of him I think if he was in a hurry or busy why bother picking up the phone.

I was down in DC for the day. I had breakfast and the best Sausage and gravy I have ever had. I loved the atmosphere. I would definitely be going there again soon.

Torrie's is a cozy soul food/Southern-style diner right across the street from Howard University Hospital. Especially good is the fried catfish, fried whiting, fried okra, and hushpuppies. Breakfast is also great.
As is typical of most diners, portions are large, prices are inexpensive, and service is friendly (although it can be a little slow). I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for Southern-style comfort food.

Great comforting soul food at great prices. The staff is nice and the decor makes me feel like I am home. A great place for a casual date or group outing.

The worst service in town. I will make this quick as possible. The customer service is the worst in town. The food is ok, but the service is poor. The cleanest area is the lunch counter, the rest of the place looks a mess! The seats are gross and did I mention the service is poor? They have great chicken livers but horrible gravy! There cakes are also pretty good, they are very slow and act as if they do not care if you eat there or not!
