Ghion Ethiopian Restaurant - Washington DC - Photo album

This place is amazing. Everyone needs to eat here right now. I ordered beef jerky and spicy lentils, and instructed the man behind the counter to pick his choice of Ethiopian beers. He brought back St. George, which was delicious. The entire time, his demeanor was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Local favorite. Awesome execution of familiar Ethiopian favorites, frequented mostly by the neighborhood folk. The place is small and family run, so don't know expect nothing too fancy.
Delicious small place with authentic food and lovely staff. Can fully recommend the vegetarian mix plate and the sweet tea.
Authentic, no frills hole in the wall. The shared platter is the way to go if you come here with a group. Absolutely everything was delicious, and everybody was stuffed at the end (we were a party of 3). One of us had never eaten Ethiopian, and I think he's a fan now.
one of the best Ethiopian restaurants in dc. all of the food is fresh and homemade, and the service is fantastic. it feels like going to a friends house for dinner. i cannot recommend this restaurant more!
Excellent. Honestly the most delicious Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. We got a full vegetarian combo plus one meat dish (the lamb) for 3 people and we couldn’t quite finish. The flavors were each very distinct and bold. Highly recommended for vegetarians.
Best Ethiopian in DC! I take all my out of town friends here and get a meat combo. Enough food for 2-4 people depending on your appetites! The main serving lady (Esther? Ashtur?) is awesome and always welcomes us in with a smile!
Very yummy food. First time trykng Ethiopian food and was not disappointed. Waiter recommend a meal for us with mashed plantains. Very unique flavours
I wish I would’ve taken a photo because the food is beautifully colorful but I couldn’t help myself I dug right in! This restaurant is absolutely amazing! We went to a show at the 9:30 Club and it had its good points. It was a long drive for us from where we live now and some parts of the evening could have been better. The little Ethiopian joint across the street, however, was amazing. In retrospect, Ghion was the best part of our evening. We stopped
Incredible food and service!!! Would absolutely come back
The food was delicious! I’ve walked by the restaurant a few times and decided to give it a try, was not disappointed. All the food we tried was delivious and the injera was awesome! The portion size is pretty big too and their big plates can definitely be split between 2 people (maybe even 3).
The food and hospitality was wonderful. Got the vegetarian combo it was delicious. The people were also kind and helpful. Highly recommend.
My family and I had an absolutely amazing experience here. The food was incredible! The owners were incredibly helpful with the menu and so sweet, she even held my baby so I could eat (even though you only need your right hand for this fare!) We got the meat and vegetarian combo, and it was such a g
Incredible Ethiopian food with generous portions. Injera was so soft, stews were so flavorful. DEFINITELY get the spicy lentils. And waitress is very funny and kind.
Fantastic little hole-in-the- wall place with great food. My boyfriend and I went on a lunch date here, and had the entire place to ourselves. The waitress was friendly, and let us take our time looking at the menu, and after we finished eating. Our food came quickly, and was delicious. The portions
Amazing food and service, the owners are so kind and attentive, the dishes are incredibly flavorful. Definitely my favorite Ethiopian place in the area!!
