I won't go anywhere else for crabs and I'm picky about crabs! This is an all-around remarkable establishment. I buy the cabs live and get them steamed on sight! You'll come for the crabs, you'll stay for the service! They know how to treat you.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this joint at the Wharf! They offer fresh and cooked seafood and everything looked delicious. We tried the lobster bisque, 1/2 pound of jumbo shrimp (steamed and spiced), 3 clams and 3 oysters, all for affordable prices! Everything was so good! Highly recommend anyone in the area to check it out.

Awesome fresh seafood. It would be nice if they had some picnic tables. Ordered 6 steamed female crabs, dozen oysters on half shell, crab soup, and 1 pound of crayfish. Yum. Not sure I would order the crabs again cuz eating them with only a plastic fork was challenging! The crab soup was much easier.

Decent seafood at affordable price. Staff are friendly and helpful too. They provide free steaming for some of the items, need to check with the staff before ordering. Took about 15 mins to steam the food, and you can enjoy the food at the seats by the river side. We order half pound of scallops, half pound of prawns and 3 crabs at $56. Quite worth it.

This locale is just awesome for fresh seafood. It’s reasonable and the quality is excellent. Not only that but they also offer cooked/steamed items as well, and there is plenty of seating with amazing views nearby. This place is a DC gem!

While visiting the Wharf, we came upon Jesse’s completely by accident. We are glad that we did! We quickly figured out this had to be the happening spot on the Wharf because it was packed. You purchase fresh fish on one side (we paid about $ 69 for lb of shrimp and 2-3 bunches of giant crab legs). You get a complimentary cook card at checkout upon request and stroll over to the other side to have whatever you purchased steamed on the spot! The other side also had food already steamed sitting out but for us fresh and cooked was the way to go. It was crazy and quite busy but, once we observed the process and got a cooks attention, they took the bag and they steam and season whatever you give them. I felt so bad for them because they were so busy with only 2 cooks Saturday afternoon. We ordered and had steamed shrimp and 2-3 bundles of huge crab legs. We found some stairs in the shade cracking crab legs and eating with our hands using the claws as forks to get the meat out 🤣 I am sure we were quite a sight for all to see but everyone was doing the same thing. 😳🤣Pretty neat and fun experience. We really enjoyed our find.❤️🦀🍤

You wouldn’t really see other shops like Jessie’s near here that sells raw fish/shells. We order large shrimp 3/4lb and 1.24(?)lb lobster and a large clam chowder. Shrip just came out when we were ordering them so it was pretty warm but lobster was cold. But clam chowder soup was much better than our expectations that we almost get in line again.

So many nostalgic memories with my kids, or a cheap (cute) date night heading to the wharf and grabbing some steaming hot shrimp or legs from Jessie's and then heading to Gravelly Point to watch the planes take off or land. Prices have always been reasonable, and customer service has always been great. Recently made my first trip since the area was made over (I no longer live close)- which I must say is lovely, and I will be back to explore, but was very happy to see this little pocket was still the exact same. Parking was much smoother than in the past, but a little pricey if you are just grabbing food to go and not exploring the area, but that's not a Jessie Taylor issue just an FYI.

I just recently found Jessie Taylor Seafood at the Wharf in Washington DC, and it was a pleasant surprise. I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I walked in. Every part of my visit to the market showed that it cared about quality and freshness. The seafood on show was impressive, with a lot of options that came from nearby. The prices were fair for the high-quality food, which made it a great deal for seafood fans. Jessie Taylor Seafood is a secret gem that you must see if you want to eat a seafood feast. It's a great place to go at any time, with lots of restaurants and nice walks.

OMG this place was busy busy and worth the wait. I've never had crab like these before and was taught how to eat them sitting on the dock of the bay lol. Absolutely an amazing flavor and the service was quick with your orders. I will visit Jessie Taylor Seafood again whenever I visit again. Yum yum

The whole seafood store was built on a ship! The good thing is they have many different choices of fresh and delicious seafood. But I hope they could have more clear signs here because you might not know if it’s the correct lane you’re waiting. Fresh oyster, lobster, crabs are all different lanes. Steam crabs are in the same lane with fresh crabs.

If I lived anywhere near the wharf in Washington DC, I would definitely come here for all of my seafood shopping. Amazing selection of obviously fresh seafood. Additionally the fishmongers there are delightful and super willing to help you with your selections.

Stopped in and got a single bundle of steamed jumbo snow crab legs with a generous amount of old bay for about $17 and a half pound of shrimp with seasoning for about $14. They also had oysters 3 for $6 or $20 a dozen shucked right in front of you. The crab legs were delicious but if I were really hungry I would have purchased two. It wasn’t crowded when we were there and service was prompt. We sat along the pier to eat but beware of the bird droppings littering a lot of the seating. Also bring utensils because none are provided.

We get the streamed crab here. Crabs are fresh. It takes about 35 -45 minutes for steaming. It depends on how busy they are. The also sell all kinds of seafood such as fish, clam, shrimp etc. The parking is a bit difficult on the weekend.

Still hanging on folks! Love Jesse Taylor Seafood for many years and still do. Good service, good product and good selection. Something about parking in a hotel garage? Nope! You can park on the lot 7 dollars thirty minutes, 15 for an hour. Probably difficult on a busy day. We go on off hours, rain, overcast when its slower. Usually we just drive by and look. We manage. We miss Capt White seafood too!
