The casual and genuine hospitality at this location is outstanding, highly commendable and most rare in this day and time. Meaza, Selam and others were so cordial to me as an out-of-state visitor to this location. The food is consistent with other LPQ locations I have experienced in NYC. I love the neighborhood hospitality and the care provided by the people who provide restaurant service here. A clean, spacious, cozy indoor atmosphere also with outdoor eating space as well. Comfortable, delicious and friendly.

Just had a wonderful lunch with a friend. The food was delicious, the ambiance serene, and the service spectacular! Selam was our server today and she was friendly and incredibly helpful. She assisted me with my decision between two tartines - I ended up with the chicken & mozzarella, which was I've had to stop myself from scarfing down. 😂 I started with the gazpacho, which was just the right way to cool down from the heat outside. Overall I had a great time and would definitely recommend you stop by. Say hi to Selam for me!

Excellent breakfast. The goat cheese and mushrooms omelet was very good. I enjoyed the Lemonade as well. Very convenient to American University since we were visiting the shortened on campus semester.

Santos, the store manager at the Le Pain Quotidien at 4874 Mass Ave NW, is a life-saver! He and his team have the most amazing, positive, can-do attitude. I was looking for a place where I could have individual portions to serve people at our little COVID-19-version toddler birthday party. I couldn't find anywhere/anything that checked my boxes. I had attended a birthday party last year, where guests were served bite-sized European-style sandwiches from Le Pain Quotidien, but the Le Pain Quotidien closest to us (the one in Bethesda is closed). And their catering business is closed as well due to COVID-19. I saw that the Le Pain Quotidien at 4874 Mass Ave NW was still open, so I called, and spoke with a lady, who immediately transferred me to the right person: Santos, the store manager. Santos understood exactly what I wanted, offered great options, and helped me finalize the order. The day of the party, I went to pick up the food - and it was all ready in very presentable trays. He even gave me tongs to serve them. All the guests loved the food. And we had a safe, socially-distant, happy birthday party. This could not have been achieved without the help of Santos. He gets hospitality. Everyone in the hospitality sector should be like him. Thank you, Santos, and the team at Le Pain Quotidien at 4874 Mass Ave NW!!! We are forever grateful.

Extremely kind, friendly staff with very quick service. Beautiful ambience, especially with the music and decorations. Feels like stepping into a French cafe. The bread is delicious to no surprise, I got the sourdough and it has a perfect tang. Coffee is very smooth yet still flavorful, very tasty. Thanks all!!

I came to this Le Pain one day afternoon my doctor’s appointment to do some work and as soon as I came on, I was warmly greeted by the staff as I sat myself. Selam was my server and she was super nice and upbeat. Great service and friendly staff all around.
