Lola's Barracks Bar & Grill

Me and my wife went to Lola’s recently after spending a day in Capital Hill going to Eastern Market. We went to Lola’s to get a quick drink and ended up spending some time there. We got drinks, wings, mac and cheese and it was delicious. The host was very accommodating. This bar is a lot bigger than what it looks like from the front. They have a pool table on the top floor and another bar on the middle floor. I plan to go back soon. Love this place.

PSA!! LOLA’s IS THE PLACE TO BE! I had drinks here before and after I went to dinner for my 29th birthday. Let me tell you… I have never felt so spoiled ever! Daria and Alex took such good care of my mom and I. And the drinks were so delicious!! We didn’t eat here, but I can say when I saw the food menu and dishes going by it sounded and looked amazing!! Please visit this bar! I would give more stars if I could.

When I first entered, the bartender was busy with other guests. I understand that part of the experience is to chat it up with the customers, but he really could have greeted me real quick and then gone right back to his conversation. The chicken wings I ordered took way too long for how not busy they were. However, being a cook myself, I know anything can happen in a kitchen even if you're not busy, and ultimately, the bar tender was kind and sympathetic and made it right for me. The chicken wings themselves were NOT smoked. Again, as a cook, my guess is maybe they were out of smoked wings and the FOH didn't know. It takes wings a long time to cook from raw, so I guess that might be what they had to do as there's no quick way to smoke something. I would definitely give them another try next time I visit. Maybe I just came on an off night (Sunday night)
