I had the pleasure of dining at the KC Cafe at the Kennedy Center recently, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The first thing that struck me was the breathtaking view of the Potomac River and the iconic DC skyline. The restaurant's location within the Kennedy Center provides a unique and unparalleled backdrop for any meal. Speaking of the menu, the culinary offerings at KC Cafe are a true delight for the senses. The selection of dishes showcased a fusion of flavors, blending traditional American cuisine with international influences. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. The dessert selection was equally impressive, with indulgent options like the chocolate fondant and the crème brûlée. They were the perfect sweet conclusion to an already unforgettable meal. In summary, the KC Cafe at the Kennedy Center is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The combination of breathtaking views, impeccable service, and exquisite cuisine makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to elevate their dining experience in Washington, D.C. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this establishment deserves a spot on your culinary bucket list.

Hidden down the hall from the restaurant. The KC Café offers a nice variety of items at a surplus price, but not bad considering the location and what they offer is pretty solid if you're hungry and don't feel like finding someone else in the area, as there isn't much acceptable in the vicinity.

I am amazed and confused at the negative reviews on the KC Cafe. We went last evening before our show and were delighted. We recognized that even an upscale cafeteria is not likely to be the best place for a steak or salmon dinner, and the prices for one of those complete may be a bit high. But we had the salad, soup, and beverage combination for $22 and could not have been more pleased. The salad was prepared to order, with every salad vegetable imaginable--much more variety than most restaurants--and then additional elements that included grilled chicken, pasta, a rice or grain and a wide range of dressings and final toppings, as many of these as the customer requests. I had the chili for my soup, and though it was a $2 upcharge if purchased separately, that was waived under the combination. I finished my combo with a Gold Peak Iced Tea, but any non-alcoholic beverage available (and the selection is excellent) was included. I honestly don't know where I would find a better pre-show meal for $22! The service was excellent. The two women preparing our salads, the cashier, even the gentleman who offered to take our trays from the table so that we could go on to the show--all of them were as kind, pleasant, and helpful as they could be. And where else can one be treated to a wrap-around view of the entire DC skyline on a beautiful evening? We had dining seats by the windows, but also had time to walk the entire perimeter of the Kennedy Center Terrace before showtime. Simply spectacular. Please discount the negative reviews you may see here. Our pre-show meal at the KC Cafe was everything we hoped it would be.

How nice to enjoy a lovely meal on top of the Kennedy Center! Great selection of entrees, from sandwiches to steak. Our steaks were cooked so differently though, one well, the other rare on the inside. But the kind workers who took our trays and the gorgeous view made up for that tenfold.

Yes, it IS a bit pricey - but considering it is at Kennedy Center, with GREAT views, the prices are OK. Much less expensive than the fancy restaurant next door. The best deal is the (large) salad! Generally closed if it is a day with no performances - Actually, From May to October, the best place for light eats at Kennedy Center is the outdoor cafe at the Reach.

I don’t understand all the bad reviews. I had a meal sized salad, all fresh, lots of good choices, for $16. It was a good salad at a reasonable price especially considering the location. Really - I could have paid that much at a supermarket salad bar. It’s a cafeteria - not fine dining. It’s fine for what it is. Glad to have it. Quick and convenient

Enjoyed the salmon and sides (carrots and mashed potatoes). Portion size was moderate. I would rate the food at 3.5 stars (out of 5) and of course, based on where you're eating it (KennedyCenter), the food was at bit pricey. My meal without a drink cost $30.

The KC cafe is on the second floor of the kennedy center. It provides variety of food to visitors. The space is big, clean and have a great view of the potomac river from the large side window. The pre made sandwiches, salads and wraps are fresh. The fresh cooked meals taste okay but a little pricy. The staffs are very friendly.
