Really enjoyed the banana bread pudding here at Magnolia Bakery. The cake is moist and rich. The pudding itself is a mix of banana chunks along with banana whipped pudding and whipped cream. The entire experience is quite decadent, while also somehow serving as a light dessert as well. It's not overly sweet either, which I appreciate. The servers/bakers were all nice and had free samples of seasonal items for consumption as well. Overall, would come here again to not only get the banana pudding, but also to try other items as well.

If you are looking for something sweet and something different, this is the place to check out! Good variety of pastries for your sweet tooth. The lemon bar is melt in your mouth good and the Macroons are okay, had better. But will come back to try out the cheese cakes.

I love banana pudding. I am often disappointed with commercial offerings. I was very skeptical of this tiny tub, that was nearly $5 (4.6-something as of writing this). Could that really pack a dessert that I would love and feel justified in the expense? For me the answer was yes. Definitely yes. The banana pudding was thick and luscious and full of banana goodness. I am tempted as I write this to go acquire another, larger tub and eat it for lunch. If the rest of their baked goods are half as delicious they will be well worth it too!

Went this morning for the first time, the shop is beautiful, the staffs very friendly and so far everything is delicious. Tried the Poppyseed Lemon Muffin, it had great flavor & density. The banana puggings very good, not my grandmothers but still very tasty and the carrot cake is to die for... that cream cheese frosting really sets it off. Highly recommend that you try them for yourselves!

I have been dying to try Magnolia Bakery and they did not disappoint. I love their adorable shop at Union Station it feels like you are entering into a special happy place. I had the vanilla cake and red velvet cake slice. They were both scrumptious, moist, flavor packed without being overly sweet and the texture was homemade perfection!

Two words: banana pudding. If you're like me, you aren't a fan of bananas in general, but don't let that prevent you from tasting their famous banana pudding. It's part cake, pudding, and bananas and it's perfect. If pudding is not your thing, they sell a large selection of baked goods most notably their cupcakes. Compared to DC cupcake shops, their cupcakes are a little small, but they have the best frosting out of any other cupcake shop in the city. They open at 8am during the week and sell coffee as well to cater to the daily commuter. Definitely stop by to experience this famous NYC bakery now in Washington, D.C.!

I had one of their ice-box bars... it was delicious... everything there looked soooo good and perfectly made.. only giving it 4 stars because it’s crazy expensive (7 dollars for one icebox bar—the size of a brownie)...I would come here all the time if it were cheaper but it’s a nice treat yourself dessert. :)

I've been going to Magnolia bakery in NYC for several years, well every time I visit NYC. I was ecstatic to find that they had open a bakery in Washington DC. I've ordered several cakes in the past. I absolutely love the vanilla lemon bundt cake. I gladly pay the 9.00 bucks to park at Union Station just to run in and get a few slices!! Just a piece of heaven!!!!

Since reviewing the very disappointing red velvet cake, I ordered a variety of their cheesecakes. In a word: outstanding. Move over cheesecake factory. Addictively smooth and delicious. This kicked my score from 2 stars to 4 stars. My previous review:Red velvet cake was a complete disappointment. Purchased from DC magnolia for $75.00,- this is a very poor quality tasting cake. The whip cream frosting that they use is distasteful and not a good match for the red velvet. They explained to me that I could have ordered the buttercream frosting....I purchased the cake assuming they would know and use the right quality ingredients. The cake was beautiful, well decorated with a happy birthday font...but the cakey component also tasted mediocre/flavoress. This opinion was universal for those attending the party. We had plenty of leftovers but were too embarrassed to serve it again...so we pitched it. This review is for this cake only and not a reflection on the other items listed on the menu.

The lord himself guided me to this establishment. For years I have traveled through Union Station everyday for work but rarely go to deep inside as I generally go from train to metro but as fate would have it this day I just missed my train and decided to take a stroll through to kill 20 minutes. I was lured into the bakery by an offer of a free sample by one of the workers. At this moment a piece of heaven graced my lips in the form of humming bird cake-it's like a pineapple carrot cake texture banana bread cake. Its sweet scrumptious & I'm addicted. Send help as I now have a problem....
