Busy on any Saturday or Sunday when the weather’s nice. I appreciate their specialty latte’s and teas, hit or cold. If you can’t wait, their pastries are top notch - I had the lemon ginger scone today, but if you can wait, their hot dishes are worth it!
Came in here on a Sunday, after visiting the farmers market, to buy a cold drink but instead settled for some free ice cold water from the pitcher. I quite liked the vibe and decor and returned today for a hot chocolate and some banana bread.
Not as busy as it was yesterday but there’s a constant buzz of conversation and music in the background so not ideal for taking calls unless you want to sit outside by the tree lined side walk which provides adequate shade from the sun & you can also scan to order.
The hot chocolate was nice and the banana bread was okay, just a tad dry. I’ll be back to try something else on the menu and enjoy the ambience.
Just stopped by after the Independence Day parade; despite being packed to the brim they were really fast with ordering and bringing out food. Besides serving coffee, they had several vegetarian and a few vegan dishes (incl one granola bar style pastry). We ordered the southwest grain bowl. It was very nice, nutritious, and a well-balanced mix of greens, grains, and dressing. At $15, it isn’t something I’d go out of my way for (or any price, really) but it filled in in a pinch and I was grateful they had vegan food. My partner thought the salad was really good and disagrees about not going out of the way; good flavor, tender and integrous beans, and vegan queso fresco complemented nicely. Also they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Nice place for a leisurely coffee and chat with friends. Good food. Service is a bit slow, and there seems to be some sort of time/motion problem. Takes longer to receive drinks and food than other similar establishments. Go figure.
Good quality baked goods. Reasonably priced.
Why visit? Fantastic local coffee shop with delicious food and cool merch.

My favorite cafe after going 3x in a month! Great variety and quality of food and drinks. Dogs on the outside patio, friendly staff inside, warm and festive atmosphere. Parking on the street isn't hard to find on weekends.
I really liked that I found a coffee spot that isn’t as expensive as what you would pay at Starbucks but doesn’t sacrifice on drink quality. I’ve been ordering the daily specials which was the golden latte and the iced ube latter and both were delicious! I will be back regularly!
I'm always impressed with the quality of the food. Today was buttermilk pancakes with bacon and coffee. Go early on Sundays bc it gets busy!
I went during a Friday lunch hour and found lots of screaming kids, big strollers, and harried parents. The loud atmosphere made it difficult to talk to my friends. For peace and quiet, definitely consider someplace else. For chaos and clatter, this will be your happy space.
Black Coffee is quickly becoming my favorite brunch spot. Great service and solid food and coffee. Spacious outdoor area.
