Washington union station had Beautiful architecture but show signs of age. I was so amazed this place was. Generally the station was clean and well kept. There’s also a few places to shop and food court around, but most were closed.

Lots of food options on the lower level including Chipotle and a Poke place. Haven’t tried any yet.
It’s cozy and warm inside so great place to stroll or shop on cold days.

It is 100% safe. I travelled to board a 3am train and didn’t find any homeless person or security issues around it. A lot of people were arriving thru Uber/Lyft so it was extremely crowded plus now the security is only allowing people who have ticket inside. As a woman travelling alone, it was safe.

The shopping area is really nice but the main purpose is supposed to be a train station and they fall short of ideal. Particularly the MARC station is an older area that isn't as clear as it could be particularly for sight-impaired customers.

Always clean and comfy. Special shout-out to the workers repainting the rails yesterday. They look amazing, no paint spills, no lines. Very well done! Give the man a raise!
Union station is a beautiful place to visit on your stop in DC, yes it had public transportation, but even more so just to admire its beauty and architecture.
The main venue/entrance area is absolutly stunning, and I love Uniqlo, but bathrooms, food options, elevators and more are falling apart or insufficient. Apart from the main entrance, the rest of the building gives "dead mall" vibes.
