Once we finally figured out when it was open (Thursday-Sunday is the correct answer as of May, 2023), we were delighted to try this place due to its quirky location right along the C&O canal. We were not disappointed. My wife and I split 3 California rolls, and 2 Boston rolls; the overall quality was excellent. We ordered online right when they opened (at 1 pm on a Thursday), and the food was ready about 20 minutes later. Upon pickup, the staff were very friendly. A bit pricey; the above described was $44 with tax and tip. Due to the quality, we would definitely return.
pretty good quality sushi in dc given the price point. theres essentially no service though, the restaurant is owned by some korean owners and you order and pay beforehand, then either take it upstairs yourself or eat out. a very standard collection of american-friendly rolls
one of our favorite meals in our 3 days in georgetown! definitely a “hole in the wall” vibe and limited service, but we really enjoyed the portion + freshness of the fish. worth a visit!
I was really excited to try this place. I was reading the reviews, and I was like— I must try. I really wanted to try the cucumber special roll. I uploaded a picture here. It was really good. The staff was friendly and nice and the vibe of the restaurant is cute. It is a little hard to find, but maps does help decently.
What a cute, quaint and delicious place! I love the location and atmosphere of this restaurant. Their dining area upstairs is a wonderful, airy spot with a view of the canal. My mom and I loved our selection of sushi, inari and edamame. Don’t miss this sweet spot on the canal!
The food was excellent -- both fish and vegetarian options. It's a little pricey, but not above what I would expect from the area or for that quality. They have DIY table service. Basically, you order up front, get your food on a tray, and seat yourself (you can't sit there if you order for takeout).
Bluefin Sushi serves up a wide range of affordable and good rolls. Many rolls are within $6, but watch out for their “special menu” with more creative combinations that cost a bit more. They also have a good selection of saki. It’s located on a pedestrian walkway along the C&O Canal.
Love Georgetown and love this hidden gem! So delish. Mango roll is our fav!
This is the best quality sushi in the area. You can find plenty of sushi places in DC but nowhere has the quality of Bluefin. Their salmon options are amazing, the orange roll is my favorite, but their sashimi set is exquisite.
As you walk into this Tokyo inspired sushi restaurant you immediately fall in love. A sushi bar dominates the enternace where the self service ordering style compliments the mom and pop spin on traditional Asian etiquette. The food was delicious and the only disappointment is I wish I had ordered more! After living in Tokyo for three years this is the closest I have felt to eating authentic sushi. I highly recommend you trek into Georgetown and check out Bluefin.
