The red wing pizza was delicious. Great grandma crust… really loved the circle pie- texture and chew was perfect.
House salad with the vinaigrette made great appetizer. I definitely would go back. Service was 4 star. Server mumbled and very soft toned, slow to check on our table… could not understand him/her.
Atmosphere 4 star-little beast art on walls did not do it for me. Just not a vibe I lean towards.
Little beast was amazing! We were In Georgetown for the day and decided to try it as a recommendation from a friend. There isn’t one close to us where we live in VA. Both locations are over an hour away. The food was incredible! Our server Jordan was so nice. He suggested the spicy honey with our red wing pizza and it didn’t disappoint! I was also debating between two drinks and he said definitely the sangria which was also delish! Overall we will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Got a picture of our ricotta app, but not the pizza. After eating half I realized I forgot to take a pic!
Pizza was soooo good. Menu is limited but that’s okay because it serves its purpose the waiter was friendly and always checked in on us! The burger was delicious too and the KIDS MEAL?! Oh my gosh don’t get me started those tenders cause they were TENDERING I love!! Will go here again 10/10 recommend.
Pizza is best eaten in square slices….
Known for their Detroit Style Pizza that consists of a thick buttery crust that is in the shape of a rectangular. Of all the pizzas I tried, the short rib pizza was my favorite.
If New York style pizza is more your speed, this option is available as well.
When visiting don’t skip the freshly baked cookies and cupcakes from Red Velvet Cupcakery
Was looking for a quick bite in Chevy Chase and ended up finding a great spot. I started with the whipped ricotta and got their Diavola Brick Oven Pizza. Unlike most places the pizza was not oily at all and the crust itself was fluffy and flavorful. Both items were excellent and I would definitely come back. It definitely makes my top 3 pizza places in the DMV area.
This place is worth trying. I loved the appetizers we had, but will admit I wasn't crazy about the traditional pizza we had.
The Detroit style one was a different story, though. That was very good. The drinks were also creative and fun to browse as well.
Our waiter was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. Worth a try.
One of our absolute favorite neighborhood gems! Delicious pancakes and other breakfast specialties, but the breakfast sammy is next level. Truly my favorite around. Also really good cupcakes, if you're in the market for a sweet treat after brunch. Haven't had their pizza yet, but we'll be back soon to try it for sure.
I loved this place. A friend introduced it to me and I'm glad I went to try it with him! Ordered the Red Wing Pizza and he ordered the Red Wine Braised Short Rib and both were really delicious. I have zero negative things to say about the food we ordered. Both dishes fully satiated us.
The Red Wing Pizza had a deep dish, thicker crust and a thin layer of sauce and cheese on top, with additional spices. Molto bene!
The Red Wine Braised Short Rib was great, too. My friend thought the meat was too dry for his taste, but I tried it and thought it was great: tender beef without excessive oil. The dish also included a surprisingly great side of brussels sprouts and cornmeal (looks like mashed potatoes in the included picture). Overall, great dish.
The place, when we went, was sparse (a little after dinner rush on a Monday night) and had plenty of small, open tables inside, with more outside. Wait staff was attentive enough, not overly so, but checked in throughout dinner. I also asked about the brussels sprouts and the waiter got to share their thoughts on how it's cooked and what they liked about it. Nice experience and service, overall.
We found street parking a short block away.
The Short Rib was $25 and the Red Wing Pizza was $20. Priced on the higher end, but worth it, in our opinion! I'd recommend both dishes!
5/5 stars from me.
We are here from Austin, Tx, visiting our daughter, who lives on Connecticut Ave.
We love the crunchy edges of a Detroit style pizza. The cocktails were very good - I loved the Just Like Heaven, my husband and daughter enjoyed their beers. Very nice waiter. Lovely music.
Great first night in Washington DC!
Born and raised in Detroit.. didn’t know we had our own pizza style now! Either way.. this is probably the best pizza I’ve had in my life! Crust was crispy but buttery.. seasoning was perfection.. I can’t wait to come back!
