It's hard to beat the $11 lunch special, which includes a nice selection of entrees and a cup of soup. I had Won Ton Soup and Chicken with Garlic Sauce. Close to the Foggy Bottom Metro and a great place to stop for lunch on the way to or from the Vietnam Memorial, especially if you're on a budget.
I have been to Magic Gourd several times this year. The food is authentic, tasty and healthy, with very reasonable price. The Chinese couple who run the restaurant are nice and friendly. If you live or work nearby, I highly recommend it.
Forget Chinatown, we want Magic Gourd!
Though there is no way to tell what this little gem is from the outside, it is definitely a diamond... Not in the rough!
We stumbled in out of the cold, because it was the only place with an open sign. We found ourselves in a cool Chinese restaurant that smelle
I adore this place. Great vegetarian options (especially the General Tso’s Bean Curd), incredibly sweet staff, and makes for a reliably nice and cozy evening. Fully recommend! <3
Magic Gourd's Kung Pao Chicken and Steam Dumplings are simply delightful! The vibrant flavors of the Kung Pao Chicken complement the savory goodness of the Steam Dumplings exquisitely. It's a delicious duo that tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you craving for more.
While the reviews here appear to be mixed, I had a wonderful experience. First, they were extremely accommodating. I called 15 minutes in advance of arrival asking if they had searing for a large party (12). We were all able to sit together at a long table.
The food came out quickly. I enjoyed my f
Good Chinese option in DC. Lunch specials are great. Generous portions. Never over cooked vegetables.
Excellent Chinese food. Took my team out for lunch here. It was inexpensive for the area and a great choice, would highly recommend it!
We got here right at opening and they seated us within a minute. They are fast, friendly, accurate, and delicious!
Very good scallion pancakes and General Tso's chicken.
Presentation was very nice. Overall a very good experience!
Very reasonably-priced good food in a cozy, family-run environment. I especially dig their fantastic lunch specials (and for prices that you simply don't see in DC anymore). They play great music too, usually soulful jazz. Highly recommend.
