It feels like a time capsule eating here. You definitely feel the history. Great place to try as a tourist! Highly recommend the experience!
Food though is just 4 stars. You can definitely still improve the taste with a little more salt but it’s not bad by any standard.

Sage & his team at Ben’s Chili Bowl give the ultimate customer service & are so personable to their patrons. I ordered the Ben’s original half-smoke and it was so full of flavor & filling. I’ll definitely come back when I’m next in town.
Normally when a restaurant is hyped so much, it rarely lives up to the expectations. However Ben's chilli bowl surpassed what I expected. The half smoked was one of the best hotdogs I've ever had.
I had a nice visit Yesterday at this location. Being my first time at the Ben’s on H Street, my visit was memorable 🥰 I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Ben and Congresswoman Pressley..what a day😊☀️ I ordered the veggie burger 🍔 fries and a salad. Very 👍🏾 good

Traveled from Texas to Maine and the kids said Ben's Chili Bowl was the best part of the trip. We got lucky and visited on a day he planned to close early. Had the place to ourselves. Excellent choice for lunch. Chili fries and a burger were my choice and they were oh so good. The chili does have some heat to it, which I like spicy and enjoyed the added kick. My hubby enjoyed his chili dog along with the chili fries. I topped my lunch of with a vanilla milkshake.. wow! Best milks
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Ben's on U is the OG but Ben's on H has the same great ambience and food, but with parking and available seating!
