By far my favorite watering hole in DC. They classed-up an ancient dive that I loved like an old, moldy pair of Chucks, while keeping the friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. The kitchen is outstanding, bar tenders are friendly and engaging and know how to mix a cocktail.
If you are a football fan, especially of the Bills or Penn State, you will enjoy the viewing parties on the big screen. If not, you can escape out back to the patio and, on a good day, enjoy the delicious aroma wafting up from the smoker.
In my thirty years of patronizing bars all over this great land, there are very few where I care to be known as a regular. Exiles is one of them.

Best bar in DC, hands down. Incredibly warm feeling as soon as you walk in the door, from the decor to the people running the joint. AMAZING food, great beer selection, and they have space upstairs for private events or just because. Patio is also a really nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a back alley entrance so pets can join! Love this place!!!

Great bar. The atmosphere there is a breath of fresh air in the middle of the concrete jungle. The staff are friendly and attentive, and I love the drinks selection. Haven't tried the food yet, but I'm looking forward to my next trip back so I can try some tasty food.
First time at Exiles last night for Big10 Championship. Had an amazing time. The staff was incredible, food delicious and the drinks went down way too easy (highly recommend the bourbon smash)!
What an awesome place to watch a Penn State football game! The beer and shots were awesome, and the food was delicious. They had all the screens turned to PSU, and even a giant projector with the game on! The bartender was really friendly, too. The location is unbeatable, and the building is beautiful inside and out. We've been back twice now and I'm certain we'll keep coming!
Handsome barbacks, especially Nelson. Indoor plumbing is a major plus. Would def come back when in town. Highly recommend.
The staff at Exiles goes above and beyond. I hosted a party in the upstairs room, which was spacious, with TVs, a private bar, and plenty of tables. We were able to order great food and enjoy our night before karaoke night!
Exiles Bar is AWESOME. Best happy hour in the city, great selection of beers (especially rotating tap!) FANTASTIC food (and affordable too!). They put down giant screens to project the game and the bartender was super nice. Probably going to be my new favorite neighborhood bar. Great job guys!!

Excellent joint. I stopped in while visiting D.C. For a pitch and Putt convention. Emer the chef (pronounced achmar) is a legit Irish woman. She used to beat the former owner i hear but that's fine. Brian the bearded bartender has one of the most magnificent heads of hair you will find this side of the Potomac. The other owner, Cronuts, has a fantastic pair of legs and shaves them in the winter. Makes a mean Mai Tai. Nelson the bar back/tender is real cute and a killer on the Super Nintendo. Gill had glass in his throats last time I was there. Check out the wall, I built it. The very wall that keeps Jose out. We miss you Chico. God bless jimmy high life and death to the goose guy. Hail and praise to my good buddy that hates the neon light. Like a beacon of hope. The breakfast hash with pork was delicious. And the Bloody Mary had enough horseradish in it. I'm glad I made the trek from Arlington. Laura and Lauren were particularly fabulous.
Not busy at all on a Saturday night, great place to bring a big party and takeover the back patio. Was greeted immediately by bar staff. Friendly bouncer as well.
The best fun and friendly staff make you feel like friends and neighbors. The patrons are some of the best community in DC. The bar has their own brew that's fantastic and their food specials constantly changing and great as is their standard bar fare.
I stopped in here on a Sunday to watch football and have some drinks. I ended up getting a late dinner of the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was very good with tater tots, great meal and very well priced. Karl the bartender (also the owner) was very friendly and we had a great chat. I will for sure be back here now that I know it’s both an American football bar but also soccer in the mornings.

Loved this DC area Buffalonian bar! Exiles is a great location with awesome service, great food, and impressive drink selection. I got the wings (crispy and great) paired with a couple of Labatts, as well as a Catalonian Spritz that was refreshing. This place would be amazing to watch the Bills this fall!
This is a great bar to either watch sports at or gather with some friends over trivia. Great atmosphere and would go back.
This Irish bar is absolutely fantastic with the friendliest staff you could ever meet. Not only that they have a massive selection of great draught beers, the Guinness is particularly excellent. If you want a great night out, a few beers and excellent food (the diablo burger is yum) this is a place in DC not to be missed. Highly recommended!
Visited this place on the night of my birthday Oct 24. The atmosphere was cool, it was karaoke night so people were having a good time. They had the World Series on multiple flat screens and a projector screen as well. Ordered a burger and fries, and a drink named after Bush's daughter.

Best bar in DC! Amazing atmosphere for Penn State football games. The bartenders are my favorite people, and the food is great! It's a hidden gem and perfect neighborhood spot. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Great people and relaxed atmosphere. Relaxed doesn't mean slow service. Drinks we're made fast and well poured. Beer menu is great. This is a definite stop for your average 30 something social drinker.
This bar was loud, had great beer, had great staff, but most important it had character and good vibes. If you are in the area you must check this place out!
