Had drinks at the bar. Bartender, Robert was amazing educating us on their specialty drinks and liqueurs. He even made us custom drinks. Great spot to hang out and will definitely return.
Had the BFF (burgers fries forever) beef burger. One of the best i have ever eaten. Perfect sized 6 oz on a brioche bun. YUM
Great drinks, killer atmosphere, and friendly service... Plus an awesome concept! They're a restaurant incubator, so the food menu changes as pop-ups come and go. I'm glad I stopped by.
I went here for happy hour with some coworkers and we sat on the patio. It is not the most scenic patio in the middle of a bunch of concrete, but they have some nice chairs and fire pit tables, so it would be nice for 3 seasons. The cocktails for happy hour were only $8 I think, and they were legitimately good. They did not come off as crappy large batch stuff you may find for happy hour cocktail. Given what is available in the area, this is probably near the top of my list for the next work happy hour.
Definitely, good place for hotdogs. A bit pricey for $8 hot dog but tastes awesome!!
Food was excellent, although the portions could have been a bit bigger
This is like a second house! The Happy Hour spot for the golden triangle, Amazing prices and drinks specials, they always have something new on the menu (food whole concept change every 3 months) and drinks, is super funky and fun! José and Rob at the bar are amazing, and Felix is super nice every time! Love you guys!
Wow, such a great restaurant. I attend Prequel for an event called Sundresses and Whiskey. The ambiance was great and the staff were very helpful. I also enjoy coming here for Happy Hour.
One of the few bars/light restaurants with street seating for those pleasant spring/autumn days. Service can be slow, but drinks and food are ok, certainly more than ok for a social happy hour.
One of the best experiences I've had at a bar. Come try the whisky. Hit Rob and Diaz up for a solid recommendation. Great times had by all. Cheers until next time!
Oh, Honeysuckle. I am torn. If we're rating entirely on food alone, hands down 5 stars. Honeysuckle is a place that puts the DC food scene on the map and rivals even the best NYC and San Francisco has to offer. My wife and I ordered the brussel sprouts (best in all of DC), the oyster soup (wow, so creamy and amazing flavor) and the scallops (The best and most unique I've had in DC and they come up in three big pieces so it's more filling than other scallop dishes). The cocktails were really good too and obviously crafted by an actual mixologist. If Yelp gave out a golden 6 star rating, Honeysuckle's food would take the cake.
But sadly, Google Maps isn't all about just the food. It's about atmosphere and service as well. That's what separates a 5 star restaurant from a 4 star restaurant and Honeysuckle is a 4 star restaurant. There's one medium sized room in the front of Prequel (the food incubator Honeysuckle is part of) with 7-8 tables. It's very sterile and the lighting is off putting (It's too bright giving it a cheaper feel to it). The service was attentive, but our waitress didn't seem to take her job as seriously as she could have.
That being said, it's still a restaurant you must go to for the food. The other factors they can easily change.
Brick & Mortar is only rivalled by Mini bar & 2 Birds 1 Stone when it comes to structure, accessible & approachable cocktails. Clean, crisp, fresh & innovative mixology at its best!
And the bar bites are A+!
Pro tip: Johnny Drum bourbon is served here, which is an rarity when it comes to DC.
