Askale Cafe - Washington DC - Photo album

Today was my first time dining at Askale Cafe and my hubby and I were so impressed with not only our delicious meals but by the great customer service! The owner Askale is lovely inside and out!!
Wonderful, warm, friendly, and tasty food. They always are so friendly with kids, and the food is always on point! I tried to get fancy with my order one time, and they quickly figured out I just wanted a serving of all the vegetarian dishes to share among the family, so just made that happen. Perfe
Always a warm welcome, authentic, good Ethiopian cuisine, of course, great coffee and neighborhood fellowship; like one's own living room
Wonderful Experience!! I went for the first time with my son and two seminarian friends from Nigeria. Askale treated is very well, and served us a platter of delicious food that we ate African style, using the bread to scoop food from the platter. A very enjoyable evening. We will be sure to
The absolute best food I have ever had. It is truly authentic with a wonderful welcoming staff and fantastic atmosphere. I would eat here everyday if I could afford it. It is well worth the price and an amazing local business that deserves a lot of respect.
An exceptional treasure. Many people get their Ethiopian food fix in Adams Morgan, but Askale is worth the trip. The owner is absolutely delightful. The doro wat is subtly seasoned, not overpowering like is sometimes the case. The portions are generous and the atmosphere very welcoming. Highly recom
Elegant, calm, authentic foreign atmosphere. Offers authentic Ethiopian cuisine with great herbal teas and coffee, making it an ideal breakfast/brunch diner. The contemporary classic Ethiopian music and elite customer service make this a relaxing experience. Sure to become a regular, refer friends a
I stopped by to do some work during lunch but ended up getting little done. I was too busy eating! The place was closed for a month due to the owner being out due to illness but she's back and open. The best kik alicha I've had to date. Great latte too.
The azifa sandwich I ordered was AMAZING. My girlfriend had the kik-alicha and that was absolutely incredible. If you want to try something new and delicious, make sure you stop in. Wonderful staff, atmosphere and food. I really can't say enough good things about it.
Been dining here since it opened. Love the food, atmosphere and staff. I usually order coffee (excellent) with foule or lamb stew or Habesha style eggs/potatoes/onions/spices. The food is delicious Everytime.
