I stopped in for a quick drink and ended up getting a small snack as well. The place was quiet, yet it felt warm due to the cozy atmosphere and the wonderful staff. The bartenders were wonderful and kept me company. I'd come back just for that! However their drinks were well crafted, and I absolutely loved the fried green tomato and ricotta stack. It was a perfect combination and left me wanting more.
Good food but not super unique. Limited brunch menu. Good Mimosas and bellinis. Quiet for brunch. Heated patio. More space on patio. Service polite enough.
I know, weird title, but I was here recently when they a tuna steak as the special and it was served with Swiss Chard. It was out of this world, and you're thinking really? Some kinda weird green stuff, yep, it was that good. Crab cakes and decent too. Good bar tenders and selections of craft beers and interesting twist on cocktails. But the service was marginal at best, along with all the food people had at my table, in addition to my over cooked tuna, crime.
I had another good experience with friends following the elegant makeover of the restaurant and comfy patio. There are tasty new additions to the menu, including deviled eggs w/bacon and pork belly on fried green tomatoes - yum!
All in all, the Chesapeake Room continues to be a success along Barracks Row.
I have only been here for brunch, but I have been very happy with both the food and the service each time I have gone. First of all, this place shockingly avoids being packed like most places on Barracks Row, so you can usually walk right in for brunch on Sundays.
Also, the food has been consistently good. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles or the steak and eggs. I know my friend's have also enjoyed the salads and brunch burger, as well. They also bring a lovely large french press coffee to the table which is great.
As for the staff, they are very attentive and friendly. For instance, after finding my oatmeal to be weirdly salty last weekend, they profusely apologized, promptly brought me something else, and then didn't charge me for anything. Also, my friend's food came out just a minute later than the rest of us and the executive chef personally brought it out and apologized for the delay.
This place is a low-key gem, in my opinion.
Food was delicious the server was new and still learning; however she was very pleasant and attentive. The chicken Walffle was delicious. My husband Meat and egg sandwich was great he enjoyed it, the home fries had so much flavor. Great Sunday brunch
Went there last Sunday for brunch- great food, friendly service with a smile and excellent value. Had two items off of the brunch special menu - eggs over andouille hash and the BLT - both were excellent. They feature locally roasted coffee- very good. The curly Maple woodwork throughout the place was beautiful. Give it a try- you won't be sorry.
The Chesapeake room is no the Chesapeake room and it's a good thing. New name is Ophelia's. We had a lovely Sat. brunch there. Menu was interesting, food was good and plentiful, service was good, staff was friendly. Place was too empty, people haven't discovered the change. Bottomless mimosa for $15.
I belive the name has changed as it was called Ophelias Fishhouse when I visited this past Sunday.
We had Brunch and were VERY impressed, both with the food and the service.
I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful establishment!
I've been a patron of this establisment for 3-years now and my overall experience has generally been top notch. Food, folk and friends have all been great! Keep it going and I'll keep coming!😊
Great brunch friendly service the chicken and waffles are just right for any taste and my gf loves the cheesy grits
Awesome place! Great staff, food, drinks, and comfy bar stools.
Polite staff and delicious food is always a winning combination in my book!
