The Black Squirrel - Washington DC - Photo album

Good beer list, good burgers, nice staff and somehow almost never crowded, even in weekend evenings. If Adams Morgan annoys you, this place is your oasis.
Difficult to get the bartender's attention, but what bar isn't like that. Once my group did get our beer, we went outside and enjoyed some people watching Adam Morgans' night scene. There are only four seats and two tables, but we lucked out.
Great dive bar in the DC area. Haven't found many bars in DC that has the variety seen in my hometown of Cincy. Lots of craft beers, they don't even sell your typical domestics! The bartenders are really nice, and quite passionate about the beer they sell. They're always looking to bring in great un
Excellent selection of craft beers on tap. Bartender was super friendly and made great conversation. Gave it a 4 star because we were on the bottom level and it had a very dank smell. I know the building is very old, but maybe a dehumidifier in the back would help? We would return.
The Black Squirrel has a great selection of beers on tap and they seem to rotate them frequently. On Thursday they have half of burgers which are pretty awesome and they offer a ton of fixings for them. The place definitely has a bar vibe but the food is surprisingly really decent. The upstairs bart
Favorite go-to bar with a decent burger to boot. The real star is the beer list that is well selected and typically includes a bunch of local stuff. We also love the usual bartender. He makes good beer suggestions and is fun to talk to when it's not busy.
Great spot for craft beer. Stopped in here last weekend for their Christmas beer event. The beer and food were good but the service was a bit slow. Although it wasn't super busy the bartender and bar back seemed to have trouble keeping up. When we got the check we noticed that they forgot to charge
I don't like giving 5 stars to any beer establishment. All of them can do better. But this place does a great job of bringing solid food and beer options. Definitely the best beer stop in Adams Morgan.
Amazing venue and even better bar with out of this world duck confit egg rolls yum!!!
A no frills bar with one of the best rotating selections of craft brews in the city. Prices are a bit steep if you're not a craft beer enthusiast and they don't offer happy hour drink specials, but a local favorite that shouldn't be overlooked on the busy 18th Street corridor.
We went to the downstairs bar to watch a Redskins game. There are a lot of beers on tap so if you are beer guy this might be a good spot. The downstairs was more of a pure bar than upstairs. Its apparently a basement of an old house. The bar is very long so there are plenty of spots to grab a st
The best burgers in DC!!! And I have been to many a burger place in this town. The mac and cheese is also a good selection, for those who do not eat meat. As a bar, Black Squirrel is a great neighborhood spot! With a wide variety of beer, two levels, very kind and friendly staff, this place is great
We made it right after happy hour which ended at 8pm. But we still enjoyed some good beers. Open Mic night was pretty cool. It wasn't crowded. The patio is nice.
Legit beer list that is in top category for the city. Food never disappoints. If you get the wings, can't go wrong with the mojo sauce. The upstairs and downstairs bars offer slightly different feelings from night to night.
Had attended The Black Squirrel for a college alumni meet. Nice place and good beers. Service was very good. Good place to get a beer in Adams Morgan. A short walk from the nearest Metro stations (Woodley Park, U Street).
Craft beer enthusiasts will love this place. They always have a wide variety of beer styles on tap with the occasional rarities. Food is pretty great too.
