First time visiting NuVegan while here in DC. Easy to find, street parking available. Good music, plenty of seating, all food looked very fresh and good. The 2 guys working were very polite greeted me as soon as I walked in. I went with the country fried steak and mac n cheese. Both were delicious, just wish the steak had gravy, I didn't ask maybe they have some. I will definitely visit again to try alot more of the menu as I travel to DC pretty often.

The food here was really good. I usually DON'T eat vegan food, but tried it because my sister does eat vegan. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.....the food was really, really good!! I even bought desserts such as peach cobbler & a cinnamon roll which is HUGE!! I would definitely go back here when I'm in the DC area.....they made me a believer in vegan food.

I had an incredible experience at NuVegan in DC! This restaurant deserves a solid 5 stars. The food was not only delicious but also completely plant-based, which made it a perfect choice for a vegan like me. But what truly set this place apart was Cordell's exceptional customer service. He went above and beyond to make sure my meal was perfect, and his knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on. Thanks to Cordell and the entire team at NuVegan for making my visit memorable. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

The customer service was good. The staff was nice. This place has the best Mac and cheese! This place easily ranks number one for Mac and cheese nobody else can compare. The Mac and cheese does look different BUT the taste it all the way there. I also ordered some sweet potatoes and a cheeseburger which was also delicious. I definitely will be back.

We arrived shortly after opening with one person in front of us. The music they played Kiyona waited on us with so much patience as we were a little slow to give our order due to all the great looking choice. Tried a few things: curry, mac and cheese, chicken salad, Caribbean chick pea salad, and broccoli florets. My friend decided to go with the curry after sampling with their 2 sides being okra, cabbage, and cornbread. I ordered the mango habanero fried chicken sandwich with fries. The picture doesn't do the sandwich justice. If you can guess, I'm a fan of mango so of course I got the mango juice which was amazing. When we got to the register we saw all the sweets and added a cookie and cake. The total was $55.66. I would go back to try the brunch, different sandwich selections, and the chicken salad. We ordered the mumbo chicken sandwich to go. You will be happy you ate here. Parked on the street and was in and out in an hour.

Love the food here. ❤️ It’s my favorite location. The food is great!! I would avoid the royal ginger root beverage; used to be good but it seems not so fresh anymore.

Godel was one of the friendliest cashiers I’ve ever met! He needs a $100 raise, like now. This was my first time visiting and he was a great introduction to this restaurant. The portions were generous which I highly appreciated because although it was expensive, it made me feel as though I got my money’s worth. Anything less would feel a bit like a rip off. The food was sooo good that I had to remind my self to breathe while I was eating. Had enough to devour the next day for breakfast (because I couldn’t wait till lunch). As a vegetarian foodie from the south, I 100% approve this place. The ambience here was beautiful. It was so nice to see so many black people dining in and enjoying vegan food! I love what this place stands for and what it’s doing for our community!!! ✊🏽❤️

Vegan restaurants tend to be a bit pricey no matter what city they are in, so the prices were pretty much expected. Being from Texas, I am used to meal/plate options. However, they only offered a la carte, which can be good if you are with a group and want to share with others. The portions were large, what one would expect with a la cart, but too much for a person traveling alone. The plate option would have been better for me as I was in town visiting. It appears that they use a lot of soy options for meat substitutes, which may be a problem for those who try to keep soy out of their diet. For those who don't mind, they did a pretty good job with the chicken drumetts, the okra and tomatoes was my least favorite; too salty (taste like seasoning and salt were used) and undercooked for my preferences. Also, there were very few tomatoes. However, some people like their okra crunchy so it is a matter of preference. The collard greens were perfect! I absolutely loved them. Next time I am in D.C. I will make a stop just for the greens. The restaurant was very clean with plenty of seating.

Really nice vegan cafe with entrees and hot/cold side dishes to choose from. You can choose to have a side dish with your entree or simply just take an entree as every dish is individually priced which gives a lot to flexibility to everyone and something to bear in mind while you order! We love their vegan drumsticks and always go back for those and their tofu side dishes are well made too!

I got chicken drummies, okra, and Mac and cheese. The potions are huge. This will make several meals. Everything is very tasty and delicious. The wait staff were very helpful. The facilities were spotless. My first visit. Will surely return.

Was at the NuVegan Cafe with my wife and kids. Everyone enjoyed their food. The Black Bean Burger was well done and all the sides look well crafted. I didn’t liked the loud music.

I read the reviews on social media for this establishment and they do not lie! The food here is fresh and the portions are healthy. The chicken tastes ans looks like the real thing. I tried the steak and cheese sandwich and while it is very good it doesn't come off as well as the chicken in terms tasting like it's real counterpart but it's still a very good sandwich. The mac n cheese is awesome as were the collards. They give you so much food so you you better bring your appetite. I'll go on record saying that I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but I love and respect food of all types..that's the beauty of food and it's preparation. I will be returning to this place because there are so many other options available I have to go back! If you like good food than you'll appreciate this place vegan or not.

While I miss the "chicken" strips entree that they used to have, the rainbow (many bright options) of sides are all so delicious I'm rarely all that concerned about the entree when I order because choosing the sides is the enticing part. The sweet kale, yellow curry (thin sliced tofu that looks like cabbage), and "tuna salad" are some of my favorites but every option is tasty. The mac and cheese also beats all other vegan attempts in the DMV by a landslide I'd say.

Struggled to find vegan food in USA and I he few I did find were what I think of as “beans and lentils” types, so was very happy to find NuVegan. Really tasty food, wide choice, generous portions and inexpensive. Staff were lovely too. Left one star off for atmosphere as loud music isn’t our thing.
