Gravitas - Washington DC - Photo album

Gravitas and its sister restaurant, The Conservatory (on the rooftop) are both excellent and I believe you can’t go wrong with either one. Gravitas has an incredible tasting menu and Conservatory has some of the most delicious food I’ve had in a long time. Their sommelier, Angelo, is also amazing. W
Quiet, unimposing dinner experience with my brother. We opted for more courses for the full experience, and it was completely worth it! Every plate was delicious, complex, textured, and was more than a few bites to really let us savour each dish. Service was excellent throughout our experience. Cann
Gravitas is a wonderful 1 Michelin star restaurant, complemented by an incredible seating area, good service, and decent food. We visited Gravitas during restaurant week, and selected their 3-course menu. Right from the start, the hosts were kind and welcoming. They showed us to our table. It took s
We had dinner at Gravitas on Saturday evening, and it was my nephew’s first time at a Michelin Star Restaurant. (Backstory my nephew is 12 years old a big foodie – a cook and eater 😉). We had the 6-Course Tasting Menu which was a combination of SENSATIONAL flavors of sauces, seafood, and meat. Ad
There's a parking garage right down the street. Am interesting building and not what I would expect but it was quiet and relaxing. We were led in and my cousin and I sat together on a comfortable cushioned bench near the kitchen. We opted for the 6 course meal for $185/person. My choices were the R
Wonderful preparations and an amazing staff. We had the chefs table and enjoyed every minute. Thank you again to all the people there who work so hard to produce such a quality experience.
We had a great experience for our anniversary! Four course tasting was excellent. Presentation of each dish was well orchestrated.
My friends and I had a fantastic time trying the Chef's Tasting Menu! The wine expert was very knowledgeable and let us sample wines before we bought them. The chef was also very accommodating of my friend's gluten allergy. Expensive and long (3+ hours), but that's part of the experience! Worth tryi
This place still weirdly seems to be somewhat of a hidden gem. Chef Matt Baker is turning out an AMAZING tasting menu with his team. The wine pairings are delicious and well suited. For the money ($165 for what ends up as 6 courses) it’s ridiculously reasonable given the quality, flavor, and sheer a
The shrimp and grits, crab cakes, lamb, and the Ice Box Cake were fantastic. And the drinks were out of this world, especially "The Bash." The atmosphere up at the Conservatory was just right and relaxing. Thank you, team, for a good time.
Chef Matt Baker never disappoints! I've gone to Gravitas many times since they first opened and have never had a bad meal there. This is my favorite restaurant in the DC area and I can't wait to go again. The Michelin star is well deserved
We came here for a weekday dinner. The food was delicious and beautiful in presentation in general. Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi and Pork & Peaches were good. Crispy Scale Snapper was good, but I might want to try the Green Tomato Gazpacho next time. Sweet Corn Agnolotti was okay - not particularly impres
I don't necessarily love the vibe in this place, it gets cold inside in the winter and is not very "pretty". But the food was amazing and well portioned. I actually thought the food here was better tasting than most other places I've been to. I think it was an off/slow night but the staff (besides t
All four of us got the 6-course tasting menu. Overall, I was very pleased with the whole experience. The process did take over three hours for any planning purposes. Between our table we got every dish aside from the Wagyu. Every dish met the standard of the rest aside from the lamb. The lamb was no
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Gravitas, and the staff were full participants in making it a great experience. The food and wine were all creative and delicious, a wonderful destination dining experience. The flavors, atmosphere, and attention to detail were worth the prices on the menu.
Asked a friend if he knew a good restaurant to take my wife for her birthday, he mention Gravitas but I had the impression that they were a vegetarian restaurant only, I could not have been more wrong. The place was great, we both did tasting menu and our table was close to the open kitchen which wa
This review is for their special demonstration lunches. I can’t say enough good things about what a nice experience it was. Everything was so well put together, thoughtful, and executed seamlessly for a large group event. The meal was fantastic- it was the taste of Japan and koji demonstration even
We went on a Sunday evening with a party of 6. Overall, we had an excellent dinner with very friendly and professional staff. The amuse bouche were very good as start as was the bread. The first dish was with tuna and really perfect. Also the following 4 dishes were a pleasure for the eyes and very
