Great place to eat - if you get a chance! The chef specialty, seared duck breast was to die for!!�
On our last visit to Matisse (many years ago), we vowed never to come back because the food didn't warrant the price and the service was subpar. However, we were given a gift certificate for our anniversary, so we reluctantly returned tonight. What an amazing turnaround! The service was excellent and the food was superb. We will be back.
Our first time there and this restaurant wowed us. Great food, awesome environment, quick friendly accurate service. Best part was the value. We were drinking wine with our meal and it came out to roughly $100 per person before tip. For an upscale experience, charming decor, mature dress-up crowd, high-end food quality and excellent menu worthy of becoming a regular...this restaurant will not dissapoint you. Highly recommend for date night or to impress business associates and colleagues. Only thing is you have to get reservations in advance since it's a very popular place, and there is no garage or valet so parking is a challenge. Uber or Lyft is the way to go.
We had the Mother's day brunch set menu. Food was pretty good but some dishes were a lot better than others.
Among starters, the smoked trout salad had great flavor. The crab cake was solid, nothing special. Beets were food except the vinaigrette was very sweet -- sweeter than the creme brulee.
As for the mains, I was a little underwhelmed by the amount of duck in the duck confit hash -- otherwise delicious. If I had to do it over, I would have gotten the filet mignon, which came with some killer roasted potatoes.
As an annual patron at Matisse since 2014 I have to say that the atmosphere and food have made no compromises in light of the pandemic. This is an excellent place to escape for a meal with family and friends. Staff and chefs are fantastic and deliver excellence.
Superb. Good food. Good drinks. Good service. Delightful atmosphere. Matisse is the perfect place to enjoy a nice drink and fine meal with friends or to celebrate a special occasion.

Wonderful local restaurant. Outstanding menu, outstanding service. Perhaps a bit loud but that is forgivable when taking everything else into consideration.
Food was better than expected. Oysters were sublime, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The sauce paired perfectly! Only word of caution is if its for a special occasion, I specified a birthday on the celebration - but there was nothing special out of the kitchen to that end

The décor was quite elegant.
The menu offered a nice variety of dishes.
We all like the meals that we ordered.
It would have bee perfect if:
-the $15 blueberry mojito had a little bit more rum. I could feel that it was super light, since after two sips of any alcoholic beverage, I already feel tipsy, feeling I did not get with it.
- If we could have had more bread. Once piece was only served at the beginning of the meal.
- If the music could have been less loud.
Almost a perfect evening!
The food was excellent, table setting was perfect. We sat outside, which I really enjoyed bc the seating area is not too close to the street. Service was outstanding...Bravo!
The food was delicious and presented perfectly. We ordered three different desserts, every single one was outstanding.
Wonderful French restaurant. It is a reliable stalwart, but not dated at all. The menu includes traditional comfort food (roast chicken) and great specials. Wine list is very good, too.
