We stayed here one night after catching a show at National Theatre (about 5 blocks walk). The hotel matches IMHO a Marriott level quality of accommodations and service. However, I took off a star based upon being charged a "Urban Experience" fee which includes breakfast, wifi, gym, water, etc. which I was never informed that it was a mandatory charge. But, after some correspondence with hotel management, the fee was refunded and they were gracious about it. I would advise, anyone reading this, to inquire about extra fees before booking.

We had a wonderful experience with the staff at the Sofitel. From the moment we pulled up the staff was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and friendly. We had our pets with us and they were also super welcoming and accommodating of them. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. The location and amenities are great, too. The restaurant closed a little early, but was a beautiful space with fantastic drinks.

My family and I visited Washington D.C. for the weekend to attend an NFL football game. I must say, it was the easiest and most streamlined vacation I've had in a long time. We flew into Reagan Airport and took the metro straight to the hotel, which was conveniently located just 1/4 mile away from the station. To our delight, our room was ready and waiting for us at 10 am on a Friday. Although we missed breakfast hours at the hotel restaurant, the staff kindly allowed us to place an order. We spent the day strolling around the city visiting all the major attractions. The White House was just a 5-minute walk from our hotel. I must say, the staff at the hotel were incredibly hospitable. The restaurant's chef, Kevin, was particularly friendly and accommodating, which made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to D.C.

The stay was amazing. The front desk was kind and helpful, the room itself had a lovely layout and was relatively spotless. One weird thing that happened was when I first used the faucet in the room to brush my teeth, the water that came out was brown. That cleared up after about 5-10 seconds of running it but yuck. The room service was not only delivered perfectly, but was also just amazing. The only other qualm I had was when I was trying to get my car back from valet it took about 15-20 minutes for someone to even talk to me. Other than that debacle and the water this was an amazing stay. I'd give it a solid 8/10.

Nice location, generally friendly staff, room a bit dated and you could hear other doors being opened or closed but otherwise fine. Breakfast on the last day was surprising. It took me a few minutes to be seated despite many vacant tables. When I asked, I was told external guests have reserved those tables. The room package I got included breakfast, so there should have been advice at check in that I need to reserve since staying guests don’t get priority over external guests.

Good room and location, but average service. It is not cheap at all and I can't understand why breakfast is not included in the room rate. Three most important things for a traveller are: 1) bed; 2) shower; 3) breakfast. I honestly don't care about french amenities in the room, but a good complementary breakfast is key.
