Mccormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks

I recently took my dad out to McCormick and Schmick for his birthday. He likes this place a lot for a good reason. The atmosphere in this venue is sophisticated and elegant. We stayed there for about two hours catching up and enjoying good food. We ended up both getting the same item but cook differently. This is the first time I’ve been to this location sat down and ate food. We sat down I’m around 430. By the time we left the entire place was packed. We both got the burger and it was delicious.

We are big fans of this chain and we came here in between visiting the nearby museums. Thankfully the place was empty with the exception of some big tables at the entrance. I had my favourite, the crab cakes and everything was perfect: I am easy to please and normally I do not ask for much. One upsetting thing was, how loud the server was: I think his name was Cook and my gosh, I could hear his loud voice even from the toilets. No privacy when asking something, everybody had to hear his voice - gone are the quiet mannerism somebody expects from a server in such an environment. You have less loud speaking servers at Chili's!!!!!

Service was top kotch. Our waitress was super helpful and accommodating. Stopped in for an early lunch with my kids one afternoon. The place is fairly large and quite nice looking. They have a large bar as well. Quiet while we were there, but there were a few lunch drinkers going on. The food was good, but not quite as good as I was expecting, especially for the price. I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but I thought the quality might have been a little better. I would give it another go. Maybe early lunch is different than dinners. It's definitely a nice place for business meetings or date night.

Ryan, then bartender was amazing. He’s very personable and listens to your requests. They skimped on the fries and my son got two chicken tenders. His recommendation of the chicken with gnocchi was the best thing from there. Very flavorful. This was a bar takeout order. Be aware, they charge $3 additional for takeout.

We had a good experience, the ambiance was nice, you can see the road from where we were sitting. The food was great, I didn’t really like my mash potato and salmon combo in terms of taste (two competing taste) but overall decent. In general, I think the taste of the food could be a lot better but the service and ambiance is great.

So we went here for our 4 year anniversary because I'm a seafood lover and when I tell you my Lobster was so fresh and so well prepared (shout out to the chef)! the waiter that we had wasn't as great but the food was so good you kind of forget about her forgetting everything. My margarita that I ordered was different it came with a hot pepper in it but it was still good and strong I guess that's a thing in DC because a couple of restaurants I went to had peppers in the margarita.
