This place is not only the most beautiful place for high tea I’ve ever been to, but also has the most excellent pastries/scones and tea. The chef here is very talented- highest compliments to the pastry chef! It was very easy to reserve a table and very good prices as well. This place is so lovely I am already planning my next visits to take my mom and my girl friends.

I finally got a chance to visit Lady Camellia in this new location! I had been to the Georgetown one nearly 10 times and was so excited to see they reopened. This location seats more people and feels a lot more spread out. It also has huge windows that look over the water, which I was a big fan of. My friend and I went on a weekday and so we had the option to do the afternoon tea for two and it was the perfect amount of food. We had the chicken salad, egg salad, and apple/brie sandwiches. For our middle tier, we had one pain au chocolat and two white chocolate cranberry scones. For our dessert tier, we had the pistachio macaron, the chocolate hazelnut macaron, the creme brulee, and the blueberry tart (the tart was my least favorite part of the tea just because the crust was very sweet). For tea, I had the French earl grey and my friend had the strawberry mint white tea. We also each received a sauce plate with lemon curd, strawberry preserves, and clotted cream. Everything tasted great. The sandwiches had lots of filling, the scones rose a ton, and the pastries were perfect. The only areas for improvement were: it was REALLY cold in the tea room. This was because we were seated directly under a vent but I felt like I should have brought a jacket. Second, I think having a tea strainer in the tea pot (which I believe they used to do) would be better than what they have now, which is a strainer that goes over your tea cup. I kept forgetting to strain my tea and the strainer holes were too big and didn't really strain all the leaves. Neither are huge things though. I'm a big fan of this location. I felt like I could have a conversation with my friend and not feel so squished like I did in the Georgetown location. The service was amazing (they offered to refill our tea pots with hot water) and helpful. While it can be pricey, Lady Camellia does afternoon tea right and is completely worth the price (especially with the cheaper menu on the week days). It is by far the best afternoon tea place that I've found in the DMV. I love how it feels like an event and would recommend it for any special occasion that you have

I've had the Full Tea here twice and both times were wonderful! They have an extensive list of tea and everything is delicious. Today I ordered the gingerbread tea and the white chocolate and cranberry scone and I PROMISE it was the best thing I've eaten in a very long time! I even ordered one to go. Will definitely be frequenting Lady Camellia.

This place is so charming. The tea and food were just wonderful and both my teenage daughter and I loved every selection. I had read online the week day menu price for high tea where you could add a person for $25 but I didn't notice it didn't apply during the holidays. A little pricier than anticipated (all in about $150 with gratuity). The only other bit which took out a star was our server was just not feeling it and unfortunately both of us felt her not really feeling it. For the price of an otherwise delicious experience and us just being a pretty easy going duo that were elated over things like sugar cube cuteness I wish she had refilled our water and asked if we wanted any more hot water with our tea. There was another server and she seemed more plugged in to her tables and overall convivial. We are locals and I think the weekday full tea for two rate would have us coming around more often with just a little more attentiveness. Really loved the location, the tastiness and we really enjoyed ourselves otherwise!

This is a divine tea spot. I took the young girl that I nanny here and we had the best experience. Lady Camellia is bright and joyful with above par service. The food was incredible and we ate ever last crumb. Highly recommend. Will be back.

We had a marvelous full service afternoon tea at Lady Camellia celebrating my daughter’s birthday. The decor was charming with a touch of whimsy, and the window views made the ambiance exquisite and peaceful. My daughter and I have tried many tea rooms in the surrounding area and we both agreed that Lady Camellia is our new favorite. Their scones melt in the mouth and are the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. We loved the variety of sandwiches and our lovely server made sure our teapots were never empty. They even had a clever selection of child friendly tea sandwiches for a younger crowd. My daughter enjoyed these savory options as much as the sweets. They even brought my daughter a decorated plate with a birthday cupcake and fun trick candle that kept relighting after she blew it out which made us both laugh. We will definitely return to Lady Camellia for our next special mother daughter outing.

I had a private event here for my best friends, mom, sister, and niece the day before my wedding. I reserved the back room and got the unlimited spread. My friends and family loved it and my mom friends wished they had one in their cities to take their younger daughters. The staff were wonderful and attentive, especially to my 5 yo niece. They made her PB&J, Nutella, and strawberry & cream cheese sandwiches (although she also loved the smoked salmon ones!). They also made a special tier for me since I can't eat gluten and dairy and try to avoid eggs too - it's no easy feat to make food for me. For a private event, my recommendation is to go all out, get the back room, and do the unlimited spread - we were all stuffed!

Food and tea delicious. Service excellent. A bit loud and crowded as small space but only slightly dampened our enjoyment. Pretty surroundings, nice view. It is on the pricey side but a nice treat.

Lady Camilla is a eatery / tea room in old town Alexandria, Virginia. It's a great place to have tea with your favorite aunt, sister, or mother. Maybe a neutral ground to something with that haughty Mother-in-law? Anyways, I found the food portions small but surprisingly filling. The assorted sandwiches and pastries that come with the parties over four was quote enough for my party. They also serve champagne with the tea.
