The taste of the food was dreamy. I had the black beans cake bento box and every piece of food had a very special flavor to it being overall really tasty, well presented and enough to fill one up. The tea I had was super nice and cozy, definitely will come back to try more brews and food! The place and staff were very welcoming, I praise the relaxing vibes and friendliness. Thank you for offering such a nice experience!
Came in for a quick drink, I ended up getting their Ginger Zing herbal tea, it was delicious! I definitely want to come back to try more of their drinks whenever I'm in the neighborhood. I stopped by lunch and saw the amazing food others ordered and want to try many of their vegan options! Teaism also has such a lovely space indoors and outdoors!
A cute tea house- with snack and light meal. We stopped by for a quick boba tea. We got ginger limeade with black tea and added boba to it. It was not there in the boba menu, however I asked her ( ginger limeade was there in the menu) and she made it. It was mildly sweet and was very refreshing. They have a very cute and cozy seating arrangements in upstairs. They also have outside chairs with umbrellas. It was summer time and we sat outside. Overall very chilling.
I have never been to Teaism before, but I'm glad I took a chance today. I ordered the vegan bento box and a classic sweet black milk tea with oatmilk and tapioca balls.
The bento box was delicious and didn't leave me feeling heavy. It came with coconut black bean patties, broccoli, brown rice with sesame seeds and spaghetti squash with a sauce.
The milk tea was perfect and was not overly sweet like they normally are and it was priced well in my opinion.
I plan to visit again to try their vegan cheeseburger and the vegan ginger scones.
Such a cute tea shop.
The bento boxes are AMAZING! Get the chicken one!
Cute tea shop!! They’ve got a nice selection of teas that look lovely! They also sell food there.
My family gets boba at least once a week and have tried the best boba in Taiwan and around the US, so the boba here is not at the level of Taiwanese / Chinese boba shops like Yifang, Moge Tea, Tiger Sugar, etc.
Unless you’re really craving boba, I wouldn’t get the boba here, but I’d drink their teas!
Cool place, great tea options, I highly recommend the Japanese green tea (cold drink). They also have salty oatcakes that are a mix of sweet and savory, and they are great. Only downside is the somewhat limited seating for the crowd size that is often there in the afternoon.
Super excited to share this local Tea room. You can place an order to go or enjoy your tea with treats or small bites upstairs. It’s a great meet up location with friends or a date.
I ordered the Berry tea with a little honey.
This tea house is the perfect cozy spot to rest in the Dupont area. The Star of Africa tea was refreshing and bold and the vegan ginger scones were pretty tasty. I sat in the sidewalk seating part so I didn’t venture upstairs but the downstairs part is cozy, inviting and open with a few seats along the window. Definitely come here if you want a large tea selection for whatever you’re in the mood for
What a cute place to go for a meal before/after sight seeing at the White House. They have many unique and common tea selections. The food are Asian inspired and not like what you commonly see in other restaurants. Their cookies also look quite scrumptious.
As a tea place, it's not bad. I was visiting from out of town and decided to check this place out because I saw that it looks like they have real teas (not just generic "green tea," "black tea," etc.). As you can see from the menu pictures, they do have a large selection of teas! So I came in the afternoon and got a drink to go to sip on while I walked around Dupont Circle -- a classic Dragonwell (Longjing) green tea. They gave me a to-go cup with the tea leaves in a sachet (pictured) and you can see it's whole leaves (and if you're familiar, is definitely longjing). No problem, I can measure the steeping time myself, and you might even consider it a win because you can re-steep the leaves later if you want (I tried the next day but it wasn't good anymore).
One thing that puts me off is that this place doesn't brew tea in the traditional gongfu manner. You don't see the traditional brew teaware like gaiwans or Yixing teapots and I think that affects the tea's taste unfortunately. Granted, I didn't sit down and drink, so maybe the experience is different from a teapot.
Anyway, I waver between 3-4 stars, but I lean to a 4 just because I think places with real tea should be visited over places like Starbucks or milk tea shops (for the tea specifically).
A utterly delightful tea, small plate, and sweets place that never disappoints. A comfortable selection of indoor and outdoor seating perfect for working on your computer or catching up with friends. I got the jasmine crème brûlée which is rich and fresh and the jasmine tea with is perfectly brewed, not bitter at all. Prices are very fair and the servers are kind too. And they have all the information for allergies like gluten on hand if you need it. I’m glad this location stays open until 8.
Wow! Great tea house also serving small and large dishes at very good prices. We had the brisket bento box and lentil soup. Excellent!
This place is great!! I highly recommend it. The food is very delicious, great location very convenient, friendly staff, it’s very quiet inside you can literally come here do your work and no disturbances. You can either sit on the first floor or 2nd to enjoy delicious food. If your looking for a parking garage, LAZ parking garage is 2 minutes driving $10 all day.
Super cute place! There's some seating against the windows downstairs and some more tables upstairs but the place is pretty small! The lady at the counter is super welcoming and the general vibe of the place is quaint and comfy.
You order first then find somewhere to sit. If you go upstairs check back downstairs after a few minutes for your food!
Got the Salmon Chazuke - comes with a freshly brewed pot of (barley?) tea. The bowl portion is well seasoned and tasty with and without the tea :)
Also got the mango lassi which was more like a poorly blended mango smoothie. There were several ice chunks floating around but atleast it tasted like freshly ground mango. Disappointing but not displeased cuz it still tasted good, just don't expect a thick yogurty lassi!
Would love to come back and try other things on the menu!
I've been a long-time fan of Teaism. Had not been to this location in a long time. The food is consistently good across locations and of course the tea is perfect. This time I had the chicken udon noodle soup and the chai...perfect antidote to the frigid weather. I really didn't want to go back out in the cold, so I got the jasmine creme brulee and the manipura herbal tea (rooibos blend reminiscent of chai...no milk or sugar). Delicious!
Also, I wanted to call out Brenda, who was behind the counter while I lingered. I had a prime location to hear all the action. She was so patient and very gracious with even the most high-maintenance of customers...I was rolling my eyes so hard I'm surprised they didn't get stuck in my head. Brenda, you are a gem! There are servers at expensive restaurants who could stand to learn a thing or two from you.
Wow wow wow! Yum. So many kinds of tea. Even bubble tea now. And the food is excellent --the okonomiyaki has a crisp, flavorful pancake and the meat was moist and tasty! It was a lot of food, sharable.
The service is good and the food arrives pretty quickly. I've tried everything from the vegan bento box to tea the dream salad to the tempeh scramble to what I'm posting pics of: avo/tomato combo, chopped salad and ginger scones.
Great value for what I got, especially the ginger scones. I only expected one but got two. The description of the chopped salad and avocado is much more simple than what is actually served. Together the two appetizers mad a great lunch and the (vegan!) Ginger scones we're icing on top.
