I want to start by apologizing for taking so long to write this review! In November of 2013 my boyfriend and I were visiting D.C, we were walking around exhausted and hungry. We happened to find Sonoma by walking by, and it turned into the most amazing evening! The food was out of this world, absolutely perfect. Our server (I wish I could remember your name!) was very knowledgeable about their wine list, and gave perfect service! At the end of the meal my boyfriend proposed, completely surprising me!! Our server helped him, and the house treated us to dessert and another round of drinks. We are now happily married with our first baby on the way. Thank you so much for a delicious, perfect evening, with excellent service!

Great food, drinks, and service. Always consistent. The staff is friendly and over the top creating a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended! I had the Pork Chop. It was absolutely delicious 😋.

This restaurant is exquisite. Chef Mel is amazing, he understood my dietary needs and my meal was delicious he even gave me some of the special sauce from my meal to take home.
I must say the front of the house is wonderful also, Juan, Stephen, Jose and Jordan.
One of the greatest dining experiences I've ever had.
the atmosphere, service, food, and drink selection is impeccable. I dinned over the weekend, and told them I was vegan, and they went above and beyond to fit my dietary restrictions. They custom made me my own pesto, and adjusted 2 menu items to accommodate.
The pizza they made - was probably the best pizza I've ever had in my life. the crust was so fresh, as well as the tomatoes and greens that were on top. it had the snap of toasted crust but a soft bready inside - with the most intense fire roasted brick oven flavor. absolutely incredible 11 out of 10.
the restaurant itself is super open and clean, and has a warm vibe to it. if ur in DC - this is a must stop.
My daughter had her wedding reception here. They were very accommodating to her needs and desires, and responded to communications promptly. The food was great and presented beautifully. I highly recommend them.
Hi during this week which is restaurant week. First entry was watermelon salad. AMAZING. Shrimp scamp for 2nd course. And 3rd course (I can’t believe I ate it all lol), butter beer homemade ice cream.
I’ve been before and I feel like the quality of food and ingredients were incredible. But they truly topped themselves for restaurant week. I got oyster stew, whole dorado, and creme caramel w chocolate pearls. Amazing.
Sonoma is THEE place to go for a great meal on Capitol Hill. Pastas are exquisite as is their cocktail, wine, and beer programme. Great staff, too! Went most recently to their annual crab feast. A must do event during the summer!

Although it had been years since I last visited, I joined some friends here for dinner the weekend after Thanksgiving and had a lovely time. We got the rose and red wine flights and had fun trying each of the very distinct offerings. The food is delicious - we shared the gnocchi, pan seared salmon, and chicken piccata panini. Highly recommend stopping by! There is also private event space available on their second floor.
What a great dinner date experience! Very good wine list. The menu was a nice variety too. But neither were so extensive that they were without focus. We paired four courses with four wines and all were exceptional. They use a nitrogen system so that glasses are just as fresh as unopened bottles. And the food is awesome. Definitely recommend the mussels and the tuna tartare. And don’t skip the port for dessert. Strong five stars!
