So I’m from Montreal and lived in Quebec City so French food is up my alley. We also love Belgian style triples as beers. Brasserie Beck is just on point. If the food and drink wasn’t good enough the manager (I think) plays hostess and is just the most charming and charismatic. Cannot recommend this spot more. Was here for work over 5 days and ate here twice but only because work forced me elsewhere on the other nights.
100% le meilleur place a DC pour moi!
One of the best restaurants in DC! Great atmosphere, excellent service, and most importantly the food is incredible! Try to make it before for the Happy Hour ends for cheaper beer and appetizers. Either way I’d really recommend the Muscles, oysters, the duck, or the steak frites. Really you can’t go wrong with anything at this place.
We dined in late afternoon on a Wednesday after arriving in town from the airport. We unpacked our luggage at the hotel and decided to grab a quick bite nearby and then call it a day and start exploring tomorrow.
We'd done our research on the nearby restaurants to our hotel on Google and Yelp prior to arriving in D.C. and Brasserie Beck was at the top of our list. We started with a dozen fresh Virginia raw oysters ($2 each for happy hour) and they were exactly what we needed! Next up a Foie Gras Creme Brulee that was different and interesting. While searching for the perfect brew the Assistant General Manager, Sarah Arnold, happened to come by and seeing our struggle to find the proper brew brought some samples and suggestions to try. She was patient, professional and understanding and hit the nail on the head with the Brugse Zot Blond 🍻.
Next up the happy hour Escargot (6 for $15) perfection! We followed that with the happy hour charcuterie of meats ($16) which included duck, rabbit, soppressata, ham and other delicacies.
There were some issues with our server and billing but once again Sarah Arnold, stepped in, stepped up and took a situation that could have disastrous and turned it into a top knotch dining experience. Thank you , Sarah, for representing your clientele and business in a professional, friendly and engaging manner found only in the best of retail establishments.
The best mussel I have ever had. Better than the ones in Paris. The garlic clove and lemon make the whole difference.
Excellent food and outstanding service. My waiter Nick was a pro, very knowledgeable, nice sense of humor, polite and extremely accommodating, exemplary customer service, making this experience all the more enjoyable. Their braised rabbit is to die for. Will definitely be coming back!
Brassserie Beck is one of my go-to spots when I’m in DC. Solid brasserie menu with excellent service. Ordered the 3-course prix fixe Beck Menu (onion soup, steak frites, chocolate soufflé). Very delicious, though the cut of steak served was somewhat tough, though cooked to the desired medium rare. The frites were not as crispy as I remembered them to be from my past dining experiences here. Maybe an off night. Otherwise, excellent service and very good food.
An incredible find. Highly recommend. We sat at the bar and had a fantastic time sampling and drinking their outstanding beers on tap. I love mussels and this place had one of the best tasting dishes ever, plus they prepared them 5 ways. So hard to make a decision. The bartender was very helpful and incredibly professional.
Elegant dining. Beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. Classic Belgian cuisine. Beautiful bar. Swanky cocktails. Hundreds of beers available. Try to hit up Happy Hour between 3-6pm. Nice deals.
Everything was super delicious. Although we had a small problem with our server, manager came and took care of it. He offered us free wine during the time we were there. He also brought free dessert which was super awesome. He surprised us at the end by not letting us to pay for the food! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back. He totally made us forget about what happened at the beginning.

Randomly found this location while walking to another restaurant. And what a find!
One of the impressive Belgium beers (or Belgium inspired) selection this side of the Atlantic.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
Brasserie Beck has been around for a long time, and incredibly the outstanding quality has remained consistent throughout. My guest had the amazing French onion soup (I have had it before)
and we both had the tuna nicoise salad. I have had many versions of these salads and this one was the BEST I've had. That is not hyperbole. The dressing was fantastic. Service was seamless and they even had oatmilk for my latte. Fantastic lunch!
Superb food and an experience to remember from the moment we entered the restaurant. It was a birthday celebration and there were so many unique experiences. The beer menu is extensive. I had a cherry beer which was sweet but not too sweet. For appetizer, I had the beet salad. The beets melted in your mouth. I had the duck for the main course and it tasted like filet mignon with a crisp fatty edge. The wait staff was the best. We loved Amber.
My experience for my recent birthday celebration dinner was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting. The menu have a different European style dishes (escargots are a must try!) and wide selection of the drinks, included authentic European beer. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to details of the each guest, especially Isabella (manager) who went above and beyond to make my special occasion even more amazingly unforgettable! Looking forward to go back soon and try more of their incredible dishes.
The service was exceptional, the outdoor seating offered a delightful ambiance, and the food was delectable. The Thai curry muscles were superb, leaving a lasting impression. The salads were refreshing, and the bread and butter provided a delightful bite to soak up the flavors.
A must-stop place for beer lovers and beer tourists in DC. The Belgian beer selection is out of this world and food is fantastic. Manager Sarah was very knowledgeable about the beer and a great “tour guide.” Loved it so much we went there twice in our short trip!
Still working on this
For a bit over $50+ tip, this was a solid meal.
I scoured the web for the best french fries that were close to where I was staying and this is where I ended up.
A restaurant that pays homage to Belgium. Belgium of course known for not only their beer, but also their fries or frites.
Did the small portion of the white wine mussels, an order of frites, a Val-Dieu Cuvee 800 Belgian Pale Ale, and the absolute highlight (albeit a bit rich) the pistachio creme' brulee.
A bit of a strange atmosphere on the inside with the tables fairly secluded, but that was offset by the professionalism and friendliness of the wait staff.
Great place, enjoyed the ambiance, the waitress was excellent, and the food was delicious. I got the mussels entree with frites and half dozen oysters.
Some of the most unusual and delicious beers I have ever tasted; Belgian, of course. Attractive environment but acoustically active, so even on a quiet night - not many patrons - an older guy like me had trouble hearing my table mates. The food was good.
