I was visiting DC for a catering conference and a friend from my home town who now calls DC her town, introduced me to the dish, khachapuri. What a treat, the food was very good, my cocktail was superb (had 3) and service was spot on including the friendly hostesses. It's always nice to know a local who takes you to the coolest place, AKA, whole in the wall. Highly recommend this place for a taste of the beaten path.

Loooong over 2hour wait to get a table but once seated the service was fast and the food was so worth it. I recommend getting your name on the waiting list early since the restaurant does not take reservations.

I can't say enough about how much I love this place. The food and drink are spectacular, but the people are what really makes it special. Rose clearly leads by example, the passion is infectious. We live in Seattle, but visit every time we are in town and every time it is better. I'd fly across the country just for a meal here.

We had the pleasure of meeting the new chef earlier this week. When ever I am back to DC, I will definitely be making it a point to get here! We had the Peruvian duck hearts (cooked perfectly and recommend pairing lambrusco rose) His special, aged beef tskune , had me captivated.

By far, one of our best dining experiences ever, anywhere! Matthew went above and beyond to find blankets for us after we got caught in a downpour. The food was amazing. Rose came by and chatted with us. Everything was beyond our expectations. Cannot wait to go back!

Dined here with my wife to celebrate her birthday and our anniversary that just passed on Monday. We placed our trust in Enzo. Our awesome waiter who I explained that we eat everything and everything sounded so good. But we were on limited time because my wife had a spa treatment on u street at 7:15 pm. We He made great recommendations and Emily the manager stopped by too to make sure we were having a good time. Everything from the Meshawi (Hanger steak) to their famed Khachapuri was delicious. We were going to come back for round 2 for drinks and dessert but I had too much to drink and ended up going .

Need a trip to DC so I can return to Compass Rose. I will order - again - The Compass Rose cocktail and the Khacaapuri - a dish from heaven. Great ambiance and outstanding food and drinks.

What a great restaurant and staff!! Every dish and cocktail was done perfectly. Green beans never tasted so good. Chicken kabobs were spicy. Portions were fair. Expensive but unique and worth a try. Unbelievably helpful staff guided us right

Compass Rose was very eclectic, unique, and interesting atmosphere. Be aware that reservations are helpful as it's busy all the time, even at the bar. The drink prices were a bit high but the food was to DIE for. Tried the watermelon salad, beef kebabs, and Khachapuri. The coconut mango dessert was amazing too.

What can I say about Compass Rose? The place is absolutely adorable. It just has a cozy, warm fill throughout with service to match and food that is memorable. I can't recommend anything specifically since we each had a different favorite from what we ordered and it was all great.

I came here for brunch with a friend, and I was blown away by the diversity of cuisines offered at one brunch spot! We ordered four plates between the two of us and could have honestly had three plates instead to have room for dessert. We had grilled asparagus, cauliflower, pupusas, and Khachapuri!

Delicious, delicious food with amazing attentive service. We did the tour of the world prefixe menu. We subbed out the watermelon salad for green beans (whole table has to be okay with that) and it was delicious!

Did a tour around the world with a table of 6 and everything was perfect. Nico is the best server we could have asked for, the food was delicious, and the outside garden was wonderfully decorated

I liked it . The idea is great buuuuut , I think is really difficult to be good in so many kind of food. They offer food for many different countries and that is tricky . I tried the Indian food and it was good but didn’t taste like Indian food , it tasted like Mexican food… and with the kebab same didn’t taste like kebab it tasted like grill beef and chicken without the Arabic flavor …. It was good , but not what I was expecting. The place is cute but so dark that couldn’t even read the menu .. and is so hot inside so they turned on so fans and that makes your food to get cold and I was cold as well .. I think it’s a cool place to go once but I wouldn’t go back.

With my wife we had the around the world food and wine menus. Overall food is good but they could take much more from the concept. The good: 1) Food: you have the chance to try dishes from different parts of the world and very well prepared. Nothing too special though. 2) Price for the quantity was great. 3) Atmosphere was relaxed. The bad 1) Improving service could bring much more to the experience: a) Everything is served in a rush. You don't finish a dish and they are bringing you more. b) The around the world menu was served without particular order and without explanation of what I was having, where it was from and how it was prepared. 2) Wine selection from around the world wasn't a great selection. They could bring much more to the experience if they make a relation between dishes and wine.

The highlight of our DC trip. The food here was incredible. We especially liked the lamb chops (with the whipped red pepper spread), the spice bag, and of course the Khachapuri, which is why you are here in the first place.

Food was alright, but what made me want to come back was the amazing waitress! She wore a mask (love a Covid conscious queen!) and had glasses. But her personality and service was impeccable. Such a great experience dining here! Can’t wait to come back

I adore this restaurant in D.C. It ranks high on my list of favorites. The cuisine is delightful, and I love the opportunity to savor diverse flavors from around the globe. Whenever I visit, I indulge in their Asada, egg rolls, and green beans, which have become my go-to choices. Sharing six dishes among three people is more than sufficient, but we went for seven and ended up completely stuffed, even having to take home a carry-out box. Every item on their menu is a delight to the taste buds, and their craft cocktails are superb. The service provided is also top-notch, adding to the overall wonderful experience. I'm eagerly counting down the days until my next visit.

What a delicious and delightful experience! So glad we picked “Tour of the world”. Some dishes I’d never think to order were extremely good (squash was soooo yum!). Friendly service, nice music, relaxed atmosphere.

This was truly a special meal while visiting DC. Everything we ate was delicious, but we especially enjoyed the Picante Paloma’s, the Khachapuri cheese bread, and Tres Leches cake. The service was spot on and our waitress was super helpful in thinking through what to order that would work for both us and our kids.

A really cute restaurant with pretty amazing food. The skewers are delicious and goes really nice with the cous cous that adds a little more texture to each bite. The shakshuka is great too, a little too sour for me tho. The khachapuri looks a lot more enticing before they mix everything together. Though it looks nice, it is probably my least favorite, just because it is not packed with a lot of flavors like the other dishes. The chocolate cake is alright. I really like the experience because I get to try food from different parts of the world. This brunch set is called Tour of the World so yeah really cool place with good food.

One of my favorite places to eat in DC with an ever changing menu filled with foods from all across the globe. Always some new and interesting to try here. Not a place for picky eaters but if you love to try new foods you've possibly never even heard of, this is the restaurant for you! Also, they have some really good and interesting cocktails, one of which was a dill infused vodka martini.

I had a great experience here. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary. The around the world food package was great. It was a new and fun experience. I recommend sitting outside during good weather. Our server was knowledgeable and very nice. At the end of the date my boyfriend and I were full and satisfied. I would come back here again.

SO glad we came here. This has got to be my new favorite place. My friend and I did the world tour. To have a BOH team mail every. single. dish. is amazing. The courses didn’t come out in the order they were on the card (I don’t care, I just thought we were missing courses) and they weren’t paced super well. We got the first 2 courses out at the same time and the next 2 as well, and then had to wait quite a while for the rest. I’m not someone who is bothered by this but when the food is that good, I want to eat it lol. I didn’t end up getting a picture of dessert, which was caramel flan with peaches, mint, and some sort of berries. Quite yummy although I would’ve expected either a larger portion of flan or 2 separate ones to split between two people. I will also say the aguachiles and the lamb curry were pretty spicy, still very tasty though. Don’t come here if you’re a picky eater, or trust that the food is damn good and just eat it. We ordered a second portion of the delicata squash with labneh. Everything was so delicious. There was a gentleman who looked like he was pretty much stocking dishes, expediting food, etc. who pre-bussed our table a few times and he was so so nice, I wish I would’ve gotten his name. The gentleman who sat us down was super nice as well, he asked us how our food was and poured our water for us. I’m going to be talking about this place for weeks. Thank you deeply to the owners and staff for creating such a unique and unforgettable experience!
