Review Toro Toro - Washington DC

Stopped in for Happy Hour and was impressed with the quality, freshness, taste and presentation of the menu items ordered. Don't expect larger portions, but expect a good experience. Annnnnd, the mojitos were amazing.

Solid brunch spot. They do offer a bottomless brunch special. The food was really good. Our waiter was nice, this place gets packed for brunch, they do have lots of seating though. It's well decorated and gives off very chill vibes.

I visited this establishment for winter restaurant week in 2016. When we arrived business was kind of slow. Our waiter was nice and accommodating. Very informative with explaining the dishes to me and my mother. I'm used to tapa style restaurants.....She isn't. The food was different but very good! She usually doesn't be venture out so if she likes it you know it was good. She even brought it up about two weeks ago asking about the name. I believe I was full when I left. It's expensive but the food it worth it.

A good place for a reasonably priced lunch. The first time I ate here there was a fabulous buffet. The last time, the special was unlimited tapas. Now the $20 lunch special includes one antojito and one salad or sandwich. I chose the braised short rib arepa and the Cubano sandwich. Located a couple of blocks from the National Museum for Women in the Arts and close to Metro Center, it's worth a visit.

4-11-19 My Best Friend and I Met up for Lunch and checked out Toro Toro. We ordered the Appetizers of both Empanadas De choclo & De Lomo Saltado, and the Tempura Mahi Mahi Tacos. As The Main Dishes we ordered the Pan Seared Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Arroz Chaufa (Fried rice with steak, chicken, chorizo) and Chili-Lime & Cotija French Fries. Everything was so Pretty displayed while being sat carefully on the table definitely ate with our eyes and amazed even from far away you noticed the colors. The Flavors were all in a flavor haven of their own no seasoning at all was needed. Not too salty or under salted, listen honeyyyy!!! restaurants can definitely take cue from Toro Toro with having the just right amount of seasonings it was so balanced to perfection. The Salmon was so tender my best friend even questioned what she was doing wrong when she makes salmon at home because it was so moist but still crisp and flakey. While everything was great !! Those Mahi Mahi Tacos with the Chipotle-Paprika Aoli was to Die for you listening Foodie ppl. The fish was meaty, the crisp from the tempura was still crisp even after sitting for a little bit. The Chipotle-Paprika Aoli was EVERYTHING!!! just enough kick =) such a excellent choice. If I was dying and I had to choose a last meal just give me a huge plate of those!! And a cherry coke extra cherries and I'd die Happy as hell lol. My Waitress was awesome she made me a sprite mixed with lemonade then we joked about adding Vodka tho since she seen my card beforehand. She kept my glass refilled, constantly checking the table to make sure we were Good. Lastly for dessert we had the La Bomba experience SoOo cool to watch!! Churros with chocolate soOo super soft and tres le ches everything split up. It was my Best friends first time at Toro Toro and she really enjoyed it and the Food Options fit her no meat palette so I was glad she was able to experience The Toro Toro way!! Lol ... We even set a plan to get together 2 times a month so we definitely will be back!!! Especially Meeee for those Mahi Mahi Tacos!! on the way out I told the manager don't ever get rid of those tacos no matter what. So THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE.

Service was a little slow at first but we came at a busy time however the food (unlimited brunch service) was very good. I would recommend it to my friends. The host Pandu provided excellent service to guest and ourselves he was taking responsibilities that were not in his host job description. He is great every restaurant needs his energy and attitude.

Cute place! Shout out to our server Edgar and bartender bae Matt at the bar! It was super busy as we went for Saturday brunch but the service and food was great! The drinks were amazing!! Bathrooms were cute and clean. The only meh experience was a very tall employee who dismissed me when I asked him to take a picture... Despite that Edgar was super attentive and supportive as was Matt and the other wait staff. Will visit again for sure!

Have to say customer service is top notch!! Dylan really took care of our every need. We came visiting for a convention, we were a large party and food and service was excellent. Have to say getting the all you can eat tapas was the very best deal. The food is top notch too! Five stars!

We went to Toro Toro after our plans for dinner at another restaurant fell through, and we could not have been more impressed! Our starter, the guacamole served with tuna tartare, was unexpectedly satisfying and proved a good prelude to the main meal consisting of salmon and the signature burger. Both were excellent, and the burger in particular was reasonably priced for a sizeable portion. The salmon was also delicious. After our meal, the manager offered us free dessert as well as coupons for two free drinks and an appetiser at our next visit. We will definitely be back the next time we visit DC!

To sum it up - A Tapas (small plate) family-style all you can eat and drink brunch! It was quite an experience! The waiters were incredibly attentive and the food and drinks keep coming!!! A unique brunch experience and highly recommend!! Soo many options to try and choose from!!

We’ve been there once before and it was better, but on a Sunday night the food was not that great, a bit disappointing. We ordered the meat, the ribeye and the flank stake. No flavor, an our server didn’t get us steak knives, our table was rocking and, Overall not a great experience. The manager gave us desert on the house, the bomb, and it came already half broken before they brought it to the table...

So, I arrived early in this place and we were going to celebrate my bday, but when I decided to go to the bathroom, it was not working downstairs and it is ok. The guy said us to go in the bathroom upstairs, but when I was going back downstairs the security asked me to get the huge line again even I already was in. And It was impossible to go inside again, my purse was with my friends dowstairs and the security did not listen me. This is the worst place I ever went in my hole life, I never felt so irrelevant and they did not even want to hear me. Tottaly unfair and I did not know that it was be the worst choice for my Bday.

Second bad experience in a row. They stay overwhelmed. Food orders never came out, we had to beg for bottomless drinks to be refilled. Asked for water three times before having to walk over to the bar to get someone else to get it for us. The bartender who was also our server because we were seated in the bar area, for some reason, was way too busy (or just didn't care) to wait on us. Unfriendly, cold staff. Can't really comment on the food because hardly anything we ordered ever made it to the table.

We had a great time on Saturday, the music was on point and even the environment was great, but at the bar the experience was different, the drinks were all water down and I got a Red Bull and vodka that taste sooo gross and when I went to the bar and told the guy he was very rude threw the drunk away and gave me the same with a really bad attitude. I understand there is a lot of people but at least be friendly the guy was never nice. I have to say I’ve been at toro toro many times and it’s lways been my 1st choice even for my birthday party’s but this changes a lot.

Had birthday dinner here last night, it was the hands down BEST experience I've ever had dining at a restaurant! I was welcomed almost immediately with a happy birthday when being seated and was complimented since I had talked to the staff days before on Facebook. That never happens so that really set the mood for the night. Our waiter Dylan or if it's spelled Dillon I apologize, he was just out of this world. The best waiter I've ever had in my life. The man went above and beyond for our table and made me feel like how anyone wants to feel on their birthday. He just absolutely killed it! I never thought going into Toro Toro would be such an incredible experience. Complimented champagne, and a complimentary smaller version of the La Bomba, he was just giving all sorts of surprises. He was the real La Bomba! I can't thank him and the rest of the staff enough. We'll be coming back for years to come. If I could give more than five stars I could, we didn't try one thing that we didn't enjoy, everything was stellar! Thank you to EVERYONE at Toro Toro especially Dylan, hats off to you! �

Food was dry and overcooked, best thing were the unlimited mimosas and tequila. Not enough food options.

Food was amazing, and our server (Dylan) was nice, attentive, and gave us top-notch service! Certainly one of the best restaurants in DC. Hubby and I are definitely coming back again.

We did the all you can eat and all you can drink special. We enjoyed the meal and everything we tried. The tuna Ceviche and rolled salmon were our favorites. Our server was extremely attentive, as were the host and manager. We will definitely go again!!

Your restaurant week special was awesome. Everything we ordered was delicious. Such a fun experience to try so many dishes . $15.00 bottomless drink special was amazing. Brussels sprouts were so good. Shrimp dishes awesome. All of it was great. Sweet waitress. Highly recommend. If you missed restaurant week in D.C. You missed some amazing deals. Hope to come back next year.

Got there at 1pm, went to the cold food bar and the smell coming from the Orzo pasta salad was off. I beckoned to one of the waiters to let him know and it was removed and replaced by another batch hopefully. It was a disappointing meal, The hot food bar had lots of remnants of dishes which was not replenished during the hour I was there.

I had a great night and birthday celebration at Toro. La bomba was an amazing surprise, very delicious and I have to say that service was excellent. I really enjoyed the music, dancing, ambience and good atmosphere. I highly reccomend this place and would like to come back again.

Was there last night with friends and had an awesome dinner! The food was on point! Drinks were great too.

Had dinner last night with my wife and 2 kids. We asked ahead to be seated in a nice quiet table, and the hostess was awesome and obliged. We had Alex for a server and she was simply fantastic! For Restaurant Week, we ordered the Unlimited Tapas and I had the unlimited drinks - both were amazing. The best items were the beef empanadas, fish and pork belly tacos, fried rice, beef pinchos (kebab) and maduros. The kids loved it and we had an absolutely fantastic dining experience. Would HIGHLY recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you Toro Toro DC and Alex for a very memorable evening!

Great place to dance, drink and grab a bite! Not stuffy or pretentious. It’s a sexy spot with chill people

Delicious tapas, lovely cocktails �. In town for 6 days and this is our second visit!! Try the Bomba, it’s worth it !! Fantastic wait staff!!! Who could ask for more!!

Delicius Food and the server was friendly. He did make sure my group had a good time. I did love the Lomo Saltado and Empanadas, are Delicius. Is a great place to bring Family or friends.
