Lovely wine, tapas, service, and atmosphere. Top notch! Our server was also from Wisconsin and he was super friendly. The manager introduced herself and checked in on us. We were a few plates into our Delicious tapas when they brought to our table BONUS TAPAS. They also helped us celebrate our anniversary with a special dessert. Can't recommend enough. So glad we picked this place on our last night out in DC.
We came here twice in one week. Absolutely loved this place! We ordered the tapas sampler both times and were blown away by the quality and authenticity of the tapas. We both lived in Spain for a bit and had really high expectations which were met. Also, the wine menu is extensive and delicious. Fair prices for the 3oz glasses! It’s a very special place.
The patatas bravas are a must try and they had the best olives I had ever tried outside of Spain. Truly a gem of a restaurant. Also their freshly baked house bread is so good and crunchy and warm.
Really enjoyed this place. Dined at bar; servers super friendly. A bit loud and there were multiple parties.
Super friendly staff and the food is amazing. I was also surprised that the kitchen works until 1am, super rare for the U.S. and it’s a huge plus if you want to get dinner later in the evening. Atmosphere is great with the music, made me feel like I was back in Spain! I definitely recommend this place!
second time here and it’s just as good as last time. a variety of tasty dishes that come quite quickly and are flavorful complements to each other. favorite was the labneh
The place is a real VIBE. We went on a Tuesday night, and it seemed like it was a Friday or Saturday night. The locals in Washington DC know how to have a good time. The ambiance was amazing. Even though it was packed with people, the atmosphere was quite quaint. Our server, Orbill, was wonderful. He took care of us very well! The food . . . OMG. . . The food was tantalizing and delicious. We had the grilled asparagus which was spectacular. We also had the grilled cauliflower with vinaigrette and pea hummus with perfectly toasted and seasoned pita chips. We had the potato bravos and the whipped sheep cheese. Everything was excellent!!! Now I can’t forget to mention the soft thick bread that is complimentary. This spot is like none other. I can’t wait to visit Washington DC again. As soon as I drop off my suitcase at the hotel, next stop . . . Barcelona.
After an evening of walking around trying to find a nice place for a drink and small bite, we were lucky enough to find Barcelona. Great crowd. Amazing service. Nice atmosphere. Amazing drinks that have unique ingredients that compliment each other perfectly. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates and olive oil cake. I am still thinking about them. I didn't take any pics of the food and drinks, but I did take a pic of the menu bc I didn't want to forget these pairings.
I have had arguably the best tapas experience of my life here. We were served by the bartender Josue while seated at the bar. Despite the busy atmosphere Josue made sure our drinks were always full, food arriving quickly and checked in on us while navigating and serving countless others. The flank steak with white truffle oil was cooked to perfection, we left no drop of sauce left from the mussels and the chorizo figs were the cherry on top. 10/10 service 10/10 food could not recommend any higher!
My brothers and I had dinner here tonight! Absolutely delicious, we sat outside by the fireplace.
The music, energy and the food was incredible!!!
10/10
our waiter suggested we get 6-8 plates and we
did just that, his recommendations and reassurance of our selections was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend you try the items pictured. Won’t be disappointed, I really appreciate the delivery, and execution of this meal. You elevated and made our night. Thank you. There is nothing better than a shared meal with the ones you love.
Visited here on a Tuesday night for dinner with some friends. Great atmosphere - loud and crowded. Service was quick and attentive. Food was out within a few minutes of ordering. We had a range of tapas and the veg paella and really enjoyed all of it. Authentic menu and delicious flavours. Dishes are generous and reasonably priced too.
Great restaurant! Great service and staff, our waiter Matt was extremely attentive and the manager Kat made sure that we were taken care of. I personally loved the goat cheese spread and the shrimp plates the best. My friend’s favorite was the flank steak, which was very well seasoned.
The rosé sangria was excellent and I would definitely recommend everyone to try.
The manager came around and recommended the bone marrow louge (? not sure how to spell it) and that was such a fun experience of taking a shot through a piece of bone marrow! Not something I knew existed or would have known to ask for but was super fun to have done.
Ambiance was one of the best I’ve ever had!
LOVE this place and the music is ALWAYS on point!! Truly the spot to be any day of the week! Highly recommend the Chef’s Table- we were able to connect with the head chef who is so incredibly talented and kind! The food drinks ambiance is amazing!! Thanks to the incredible staff for a great night always!!!!!
Barcelona is another DC classic for good reason. The only downside to it is that it’s constantly packed, you often have to wait for a table, and it’s quite noisy inside. However, once you’re seated, service is surprisingly fast and attentive considering how busy the restaurant is. They’re a great wine bar — huge wine list, many very reasonably priced and still quite good bottles which is always appreciated. All the tapas are delicious, I’ve never ordered anything here that I haven’t enjoyed. Very very fun place to go with friends for a boozy, tasty meal so long as you don’t mind the crowds & noise, and maybe having to wait a bit for a table.
The food is great - the bread is so good that we need to try really hard to stop ourselves finishing it; the bacon wrapped dates is amazing, the balance between savory & sweetness is very impressive; potato bravos is potato bravos, very yummy; also love their cauliflower with vinaigrette, a very refreshing taste to balance out the heaviness from potato bravos.
One thing to note is that the music was pretty loud. It did give a great ambiance (we almost want to go out party after the meal!), but also makes it a bit hard to have conversation as you kind of need to yell.
The food was very tasty and they were able to accommodate a small dietary restriction well. The servers were friendly and attentive. Just be aware if you are sitting inside the music is pretty loud and you are in tight quarters. Would still go again and maybe try to get one of the cute patio seatings.
First time at Barcelona and our server Darell and Chef Ahmed took great care of us, all the staff were friendly and nice. Food and drinks were delicious and extremely accommodating to our vegan dietary restrictions. Patio seating was lovely and music was great. Overall had a great experience and will definitely be coming back.
Wonderful tapas, but at the price you should be picky on what you buy into.
The recommended board is a great starting point, but the potatoes bravos are really the only thing you need off it.
The meatballs were prepared in a fantastic spicy tomato sauce. Plus the portion was good for the price compared to most items.
While the flan tasted great, it felt like the sugar on the top was burnt a bit. Whether purposeful or not it was a great combination
The steak was wonderful, but the portion was terrible for the price
We got the white sangria pitcher, I would recommend the red. The white came off a bit bitter
The food was worth the price, but spend wisely
