Martin's Tavern - Washington DC - Photo album

These two Southerns had an absolutely wonderful experience at Martin’s Tavern. We made a reservation inside and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of this historical gem. (Be sure to set this reservation a few days out as it’s a popular venue.) The Christmas decor was perfect, making it feel like a sce
I've lived in DC for over 20 years and this was my first experience. The menu was incredible for brunch, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The tavern is nostalgic, and the booth JFK proposed to Jackie is prominent in the restaurant. The service was great, as was the food which came right out on a very bu
Very nice restaurant to have a meal in a historic place. At first, the hostess did not want to let us in, because they were "changing the menu", although it was almost full inside. She had turned a couple away, but we insisted to be put on a list. A minute later, a manager kindly escorted us to a ni
I mean … you come here for the history and the feel of the place. The food is good, don’t get me wrong, but traditional American fare. I had the crab cake sandwich and it was very good, as was the onion ring loaf. Solid Caesar salad. And we got to sit in the proposal booth. Woot woot!
We were so satisfied with the food, the atmosphere and the service! What a place 😍 We were lucky to find a table at the “Proposal Booth”. The food was so tasty and the portions were big. The decoration was so nice. We will definitely go again.
The service was good, the young lady was very happy and available. The food was good. I had chicken parmesan. The chicken was well done and enough. I added some hot pepper. The room inside is darker. We had a 15 minutes wait time but we went for a walk until we received a text me. I would recommend!
Very good American style brunch. Nice chairs outside. We were there around 9am in a weekend morning and it wasn't busy. Their avocado toast which came with salmon was our favorite. Kids liked their pancake. The staff are polite and welcoming. We found a parking spot, but maybe we were too lucky.
Very popular restaurant, make sure to book a table, but, if booking for inside the restaurant, know that you will be bumped into, sitting elbow to elbow with other tables and talked over as it’s extremely small. Bathrooms are upstairs via a narrow rickety stairwell. We luckily sat outside since the
We really enjoyed Martin’s. What made it really special was our waiter, Solomon. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. He’s been there for decades and is passionate about his work. I requested a booth on our reservation, which was accommodated. It was cozy with all the Christmas decorat
Charming and historic tavern in Georgetown. It has everything you need for a flawless and enjoyable meal. We sat in a booth in the back, which is secluded and quite lovely. I couldn’t resist and ordered the Martin’s Delight Hot Brown. The dish is served in a cast iron skillet packed with flavors and
Second time here! We are very glad wr came back. The food is delicious and the menu has many other food and drink items that I need to come back for and try. We started a two mile walk from the National Catherdral. Walk just shy one two miles, all down hill. It's a great walk and way to see this in
Really great service and delicious food. The place has been around for 100 years for a reason. Recommend getting the fresh onion soup and prime rib & cheese sandwich!
Great place to get a taste of some comfort American food. Nice atmosphere of a pub that hints back to DC's colonial roots. Excellent food that is both tasty and filling, properly cooked and hearty. Definitely recommend.
Fun historic little place. We reserved booth 3 online same day to sit where JFK proposed. Booth was very tight and very upright uncomfortable for my large body. But it was THE place so it felt cool to be part of history. We ordered the regular eggs benedict and pesto chicken pasta and bread pudding.
This neighborhood restaurant with an old-world atmosphere is popular with locals and visitors alike! It's very busy, so reservations are necessary for both indoor and outdoor seating ( that I prefer). 🙂 The food was tasty, but the dishes lost a few points when it came to the presentation of the fo
Had the Emmitt Warring crab cake sandwich and the fried green tomatoes on a Sunday afternoon. Martin's never disappoints, this institution is sewn into the tapestry that is the District of Columbia.
Absolutely loved Martin’s Tavern! Food was amazing, great atmosphere and Solomon really made the evening for us! Top notch service and a lovely, lovely man. We’ll be returning and telling everyone to make it a stop on their visit to DC!
This is amazing!!! I’m obsessed with the food here, I ordered the taverns treat. 100% recommended. I tried my table mates New York strip with truffle butter and it was one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted. I also tried my other table mates London broil and it was very good!!! I absolute
This is a must visit! Although book ahead as it gets busy. Lovely authentic tavern, complete with wooden furnishings, booths and eclectic decor. (Ask for the booth where JFK proposed to Jackie!) The menu has all the classics and they are huge portions. The crab cake sandwich was delicious, as was th
