Baan Thai - Washington DC - Photo album

I LOVE this place. They serve the most delicious Thai food I have ever eaten. The atmosphere and birds-eye view of the busy street below — phenomenal. The service is always quick and friendly. I've eaten here 3 times over the course of 2 years and have never had a bite of one of their dishes that w
By far my favorite sushi place in DC proper. The happy hour pricing alone is worth the trip. Great time to try something new. This time I tried their octopus nigiri, pretty good. The best item on the menu for me is the Nigiri eel! It's a party in your mouth. It's a place you must check out.
The food is delicious and savory! The menu is pretty big with a large selection of food where the first half of the menu is comprised of Thai dishes and the second half is comprised of sushi. Ordered a few Thai dishes, so I don't know how the sushi taste, but the food is one of the best Thai I've ha
Some of the best and authentic Thai food I have had in a long time. Their sushi is good, but Thai dishes are so much better. Crispy rice cakes are a must try! Thai iced tea is good for cooling off your mouth with all that amazing spicy food. Very friendly and attentive staff and food is reasonably p
Went here for dinner. Place was packed which is always a good sign ;). Ordered two appetizers a tapioca wrapped chicken and sausage. Both were awesome. Eat the chicken with chilly served with it for full experience of the flavors. Ordered a maki and papaya curry chicken for entrees. Again both were
Delicious takeout! Thanks to a previous reviewer for suggesting the snacks I know as Thai money bags, here they are called "golden fried pockets." Really enjoyed the Egg noodle soup with roasted pork and ground chicken. Appreciate that for takeout they put the broth and protein in one container, and
Best thai I've ever had. I've been searching for a Khoi Soi this good ever since. Edit: Returned to D.C. And went back here. Amazing Khoi soi. The curry is so flavorful, the chicken was cooked perfectly. It's definitely my favorite Thai food. Accessibility: there is a flight of narrow stairs to en
Came in with a group of co workers during lunch and was seated right away. We all really enjoyed the food and had trouble deciding which item to pick for our first time. We really appreciated the pictures and all had something different from the thai food menu. We'll be back to try to the sushi.
It was fairly empty at 11:40 today. The hostess and server were very attentive, we had water almost immediately, and our food came out very fast once we ordered it. My dish want particular spicy, but everyone else thought medium was plenty spicy. I had the Thai vermicelli in chili peanut sauce (kano
Food was excellent. A lot of the dishes are very spicy and the menu does good good of pointing out how spicy a dish is. I love some heat with my food. Fried Tilapia was best dish I've had there so far, but everything is good.
Probably the best Thai food I have had, though I haven't had that much. I had a chicken curry with winter melon. It was ranked with 4 peppers, which is their spiciest. It was not a slap in the face, searing heat, but more of a dull mouth covering heat. Still incredibly delicious. They also had
Really fricken good! For once when you ask spicy they make you regret it (in a good way)! The rice noodle peanut sauce is out of this world. I dont ever give 5 stars but if I go through all the restaurants in the world and cant find something better I'll update it to a 5! Food was reasonably priced
This further cements DC as the best city for Thai food. Absolutely amazing. None of the boring old standbys- Baan Thai has the true authentic dishes. They’re not afraid to make it hot either... most places will dial it back no matter how hot you requested they make your food. The wings were perfect
More authentic thai. Loved the Golden Fried Pockets. Try the Brocolli Fried Rice w. Pork. It has a unique taste with the cilantro on top. Ask for extra lime.
Come upstairs for this authentic tasty northern Thai style restaurant. The pepper heat is tamed down. So don't be afraid to ask for it to be raised. Many creative regional dishes not typically found in standard Thai restaurants. Good value and service. Glad we tried this place before it moves east o
Baan Thai is a wonderful location for nice dinner when in town. The atmosphere is very welcoming and lively. The restaurant has a great selection of modern and traditional dishes. I tried their Glass noodle soup with chicken and shrimp /Suki nahm gài kup goong, this dish was bursting with flavor. Th
Great food, the menu may not look too good at first glance but it was awesome. But for people who don't like spice choose wisely and try to get food with one to zero chilly signs.
What's good? The Golden Fried Pockets are amazing. The Stir-Fried Rice with Chili Paste and Pork Belly was amazing, if you can handle spicy. The wings with the sauce were good. Our friend liked the Thai Vermicelli in Chili Peanut Sauce. We didn't like an "angel hair..." dish they had in Summer speci
Food was SO tasty. We started with the chicken tapioca balls, which were sweet on the outside and spicy on the inside; unusual and delicious. It seems to be authentic and the menu describes the different regional cuisines in Thailand, so you can look for the style you want to try. Service was great
