We had afternoon tea here on a Saturday. Overall delightful experience. Loved the retro vibe at the Watergate and it was a great afternoon spent with girlfriends. You have to book in advance for between 1-2pm. You also pay in advance to reserve your spot, which was convenient. We came for a friends birthday and while the restaurant was relatively empty at 1PM on a Saturday, there were quite a few tables having tea. Wonderful and diverse tea options and everything tasted fabulous. The sandwiches were delicious and.wd loved the tea and scones! We wished we had a whole tray of scones and biscuits. There were a lot of desserts, which were all delicious and beautiful, but we really loved the spreads and wished there were a few more savory items in place of a few of the desserts. Overall really delightful experience and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Dinner at the famous Watergate Hotel. Of course one would think this could be memorable. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. The same is not true for the bar. Daniel, the bartender, was great. His mastery of the cocktails was amazing. So if you're in the area and looking for a tasty libation pay a visit, and tell Daniel that Jason and I sent you.

We had a wonderful meal. The pasta and risotto was fresh, tasty and delicious. Our wine was perfect. My only gripe was the party next to us was having fun and talking/laughing loudly. There aren't any baffles on the ceiling to mitigate noise so it was like an echo chamber. My wife was up against the wall with a short wall in between us and them so her experience wasn't as bad. Our server Omar was wonderful also.

Update: Return visit one year later in August 2023 and the staff at Kingbird outdid themselves. Due to a rainstorm we were initially unable to enjoy the rooftop bar so our large party descended upon the Kingbird bar instead. The cocktails and service were terrific. We even received some champagne to welcome our guest of honour. Once seated for dinner, the service continued to be impeccable and food delicious. What a special place. Christina, our server, was excellent. Also, the bartender was so kind as to offer up a complimentary bottle of champagne when he noticed that we were gathering to celebrate a special family member. August 2022: Dinner service was terrific. Lump crab salad hit the spot. Very comfy seating. Nice midcentury vibe. Loved the mocktail too!

Immaculate service, beautiful and comfortable seating, and fantastic well-portioned food. The only hiccup was their google listing said they were open at 11am and had breakfast but when I arrived, they were closed until 11:30 when the lunch service was to commence. Ended up having lunch instead and it was wonderful! The potato leek soup in particular was absolutely perfect!

Food was delicious especially the dessert. Asked for HH hour special a few minutes after 6pm and they claimed they couldn't do it, but they could have given the drink at the HH priced if they wanted to.

Our stay at the Watergate has been absolutely top tier. The service has been thoroughly excellent from the doormen to the front desk to the restaurant staff. Speaking of the hotel restaurant- Kingbird - I think it may be hiding one of the best chefs in DC. I don't know where they got this guy, but I sure hope they keep him. Incredible food.

Exceptional customer service. One of the best French toast I had. Luckily for me, I had two days to try as much breakfast meal. I highly recommend it and it exceeded my expectations. The price is high but you are paying for great quality. After your breakfast you can take a stroll at the water front. I think this is a great selection and you will not be disappointed.

We had the best dinner experience here our first night in DC. Impeccable service with an amazing server. He told us stories and gave suggestions that were spot on. Would definitely recommend

A beautiful spot with views of the river, located in the historic Watergate Hotel. Service is unobtrusive yet attentive, seating is comfortable and the food is beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. We enjoyed Kingbirds interpretation of “fish and chips” particularly, which featured delicate, flaky white fish in the perfect airy yet crisp batter, the “chips” are actually roasted new potatoes and mushy peas are a delightfully minty pea purée. Altogether delicious. If you are missing the fried potatoes there are truffled fries available as a side that are out of this world. Prices are what you would expect for this caliber of restaurant in DC - expect to pay about $40 per person if you’re having dessert or an appetizer- without alcohol. They do validate for valet parking which brings the price down to $12. It’s worth mentioning that they are an easy walk from the Kennedy Center (less than 5 minutes).

Visiting DC, visiting places off the beaten path, we noticed the Watergate Hotel had a restaurant, The Kingbird. Having the shrimp cocktail, Pennsylvania Golden Chicken, and the Deconstructed Lemon Tart, which was the highlight of the meal, we left feeling satisfied. Staff was nice, and prices were what you'd expect from DC.

Delicious brunch and friendly service. The bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant was so good I think I told the server it was the best I’ve had in my life several times. Our server was great, I will edit and add his name here when I remember him. She was very polite and asked the kitchen about the whiskey barrels upfront and made a barrel aged old fashion which was absolutely delicious.
