There are some DC restaurants you just can’t go wrong with! The seafood is fabulous and the oysters are amazing!! There are an array of menu options and everything is out of the ocean fresh. I was looking for a good lunch burger and even though I was tempted to order some seafood, I stuck to my guns and had the amazing angus burger. I did have three fantastic oysters. The bread & cornbread were also very good. They have an extensive wine selection, knowledgeable staff and top of the line seafood choices. The seating offers spacious booths, tables and plenty of bar seating. I also enjoyed the delicious apple cake ala mode. There’s a fresh seafood market with a nice selection.

Nothing but good things to say. A bit off the beaten track but worth the trip. We checked out happy hour right before dinner. Oysters rockefeller was excellent! Adies mussels were good. Calamari was a good portion. Drinks were good and not watered down. Staff were extremely nice and inviting. There's a fish market up front and the restaurant in the back. Not too big but intimate. Try sitting in the Cafe to have access to the happy hour and dinner menu. I will be back to try more things!

This was our first time here and we will definitely return. Food was delicious and our waiter, Will was fantastic. We especially recommend the oysters Rockefeller, the calamari, the clam chowder and seafood stew. Desserts were wonderful as well. By that time, we were so full that we needed to bring half our desserts home.

They food was very good and the service was outstanding. They soft shell crab appetizer is to die for. I would go out of my way for that dish. The octopus was a nice dish too. The caldo de frango was lighter than I would have liked it. The waiter said it was light soup, but it was way too light for my liking. The key lime was pretty tasty. Nice display of very fresh seafood all around with their plates. The presentations are beautiful. I would definitely return and hope they have the soft shell crabs. That dish is perfection.

Some of the BEST fish tacos I’ve EVER eaten! The calamari was delicious, and the star of the show was the ginger beer(non alcoholic) and it was so refreshing. Our waiter Will was so sweet and patient! He really knew the menu and made the experience sooooo much better.

What a fabulous atmosphere and delightful staff! They truly understand hospitality. The food was very good, but I'd come back here even more so for the staff. We could tell they have lots of regulars because they greeted so many people by name. We'll be back on our next trip to DC-thank you for making us feel so special:)

Very accommodating! Initially, we had some trouble navigating the menu because of stomach sensitivities, but the waiters told us to pick a fish from the market and they would make us a custom meal. Not only was it delicious, presentation was beautiful. Above and beyond service.

Had a warm experience at Black Salt. I visited during RW, which made it more affordable, but the menu was well curated for a varied experience. We had the Rhode Island calamari to start, the Caldo de Mariscos for main and creme brulee/peach cobbler as dessert. The service and the ambiance were great. The level of attention to details from silverware/glasses to items provided in the restroom made the visit so much more worthwhile.

Solid spot for great fresh seafood with an attention to detail and presentation. Portions are actually relatively large as you can see in my photos. I loved it but gave it 4 stars because I did feel the cost could be a touch less.

I was looking for a lunch spot with fish and chips. This place came up on my search and I’m glad it did. The vibe of the interiors is chill. There’s a market at the front, bar & booth seating next and tables in the back. This would be a good place for happy hour or an indulgent long dinner. The seafood is very fresh and other items on the menu taste homemade. I highly recommend the chips. I was more expecting fries for the “chips” though I’m glad with what showed up at the table because these house made potato chips have a hint of sea salt & red wine vinegar. They are absolutely addictive. The service was the best part of the experience. Everyone was friendly and attentive. I will for sure be back.
