Filomena Ristorante - Georgetown

My favorite Italian restaurant in the entire world! Yea I said it and stand by it! I make it my mission to always make reservations when I am in DC. If you have not tried the linguine cardinale; you are missing out on the best pasta dish of all times!! Service is always superb! I am glad I live in Texas now because I would definitely be on my 1000lb show from eating the pasta everyday if I lived close. Make sure to make reservations weeks in advance! You will not be disappointed!

10/10 experience at Filomena. Fun atmosphere: Christmas decorations everywhere, cozy lighting, comfortable seating. Great service: wondeful and kind server, good menu recommendations, and perfect timing for each course. Delicious food: everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Portions are quite large, so we resisted ordering too much. We will have to come back and try more items from the menu!

Came here with a party of 6, was seated promptly and the place is very nicely decorated for Christmas holiday. Server did a great job of explaining the menu, the fan favorites and the specials. Our group ordered lasagna (highly recommend), the cheese ravioli with meatballs (delicious), the mushroom ravioli 👍, the short rib pasta 😋, and standard spaghetti 🍝. Serving sizes are very large, which is great for leftovers the next day!! We also got desserts which are much larger than the pictures but all delicious, eclair, cannoli, and strawberry cheesecake. Come hungry, leave stuffed with many boxes to take home! Highly recommend, note reservations are difficult to make so plan ahead and go for a special occasion!

What an experience! Every season/holiday they do new decor and it's always over the top and amazing! You will not be able to finish your food, and could easily share your plate and you'll both be full! A bit spendy, but worth every penny! Don't forget to do the traditional drink with coffee beans for health, wealth and happiness!

updated review: three months since the last visit and just as great! new items enjoyed! wow I mean wow! this is the spot impeccable service excellent food! flavors in this deeply textured delicious food that I recall from growing up with my Italian grandmother's cooking. a little bit pricey but you feel a good value exchange in terms of quality food and service for the price. leave room for the cheesecake / my wife it is the best cheesecake she has experienced EVER!

DO NOT MISS!! This is the most beautiful, fun, delicious food I have found in the DC area! I came here this past weekend with a large party of family members. First off, they have a lovely bar to wait at before your table is ready with great bartenders (great martinis). When we arrived at our table, our waiter asked what we were celebrating! Such a fun touch. There were 7 of us in total and each of us got a different entree, and we were all beyond impressed with the quality and portion size. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu items and made suggestions as we asked. We really felt at home here. 10/10! We will be back!

We had heard a lot about Filomena, we were in Georgetown, and we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because the Filomena lived up to it's reputation for great Italian food with an amazing atmosphere. It's spooky season so the Halloween decorations were up and they are just as spooky as they are plentiful. Everywhere you looked there was another decoration you missed the first time. Created an amazing atmosphere which was backed up by excellent service from the staff. It's not a cheap experience but the portion sizes are so generous. I had the risotto, my wife had a sandwich, and both of us could only finish half our meals. The taste was delicious, everything is made to perfection, and I can't wait to try more off the menu.

Make your reservations far in advance! This place is an Italian staple in Georgetown and DC for a reason. The decor was so fun and over the top with red lighting for ambiance. The food honestly felt like it was made by a generous and loving Italian grandma. I would recommend not eating all day to have room for a dinner here. The portions are very generous to the point that I would even suggest splitting a main course if you plan on ordering appetizers. Nothing you can order here will be anything short of amazing, but the calamari in particular was fantastic. I'm looking forward to coming back soon!
