Great classic DC spot! Beautifully decked out for Christmas. Oysters Rockefeller was delicious & the prime rib was cooked perfectly. Always insanely crowded so be prepared to wait if you don’t have a reservation! Our server was very kind but it did take a while. Definitely recommend & will be returning

Fantastic brunch experience at Old Ebbitt Grill! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waitress was prompt, super kind, and ensured we were pleased with everything! The oysters Rockefeller were great. The shrimp and grits were also very good. The atmosphere at Old Ebbitt Grill is so cozy and historical. It is a huge, beautiful and old restaurant. Definitely recommend eating at Old Ebbitt Grill, I can’t wait to go back!

I got the shrimp and grits and my wife got the calamari. The shrimps and grits was good but not great. Being from the south, I get a more flavorful version in this part of the country. The calamari lacked flavor for me as well. This place does offer a cool atmosphere and the service was great!

An iconic stop and must do before leaving DC. The experience and atmosphere is just what we expected. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Food was served quickly and hot. We shared some steamed mussels that had flavor for days (white wine sauce). We all enjoyed ourselves and would return. Great time!

My first time in DC and my friend took me to this restaurant because he said the rating was quite high. But still didn’t expect it to be this great. Excellent food -we ordered clam chowder for the appetizer, for the entrée crab cake for me and braised short ribs for my friend, and for dessert key lime pie for me and chocolate torte for my friend- , excellent service -super helpful and cheerful- , perfect ambience/atmosphere. Thank you! Certainly I will come back!

Excellent experience here. Stopped in a bit before 5pm for dinner and whole it was busy, we didn't have to wait. Line started around 5:30. Service was fantastic and so was the food. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Bill was $85 before tax and tip for 2 entrees, 1 kids meal, and 1 dessert.

Just steps away from the White House, this restaurant is an excellent place to eat. Expect to break your wallet as it is famous for being the oldest saloon in D.C. Additionally, it is also known for its delicious oysters. I actually didn't get to try any, but I did have their Point Judith calamari, which was perfectly crispy with a good dipping sauce to match. I also had a bit of lobster, shrimp, and my main meal was their meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Every dish was large in proportion, and that was my downfall, as I was unable to finish my meatloaf after trying so many other things. Can't fault the restaurant on that, their food is just too appetizing. Do not follow my lead by ordering an appetizer and main dish for 2 people. Ordering just the main meal will suffice. The service was a little slow, but understandable considering the amount of people in the building. I reserved a spot for 9pm, expecting it to be less crowded, but you'd think there was a party going on with how bustling it was! Even so, I only waited 5 minutes before being seated, and my server was kind and knowledgable about the menu. He convinced me to order an "anti-hero" cocktail, which I described to him had a powerful kick. I would come here again for a special occasion since it's expensive, and I'd lay off stuffing my face with too much food. But for my first-time, I had a lot of fun.

Came here yesterday for a small office lunch gathering—we got two tables all the way in the back room, facing the atrium. Service was great! Food was delicious. Started off with the Crab & Artichoke Dip and Meatballs. The Jumbo Lump Single Crabcake was good—lots of crab meat! My entree came with French fries, also good. Everyone enjoyed their food!

Very nice, very old Tavern restaurant,it was very loud when we were there, our server was kind of short and abrupt, and we waited on service for drinks for a while. The food was good, we had the Walters favorite that was amazing, Mediterranean Branzino that was just 2 fillets not the whole fish, with only a few potatoes and onions, not an assortment of vegetables.the fish was seasoned well and tasted good but not to the level expected for the price. Had the Bloody Maryland that was very good and an appetizer of meatballs that again were good but not as expected. Wasn't the dining experience that we had hoped for or expected.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The fried zucchini had tons of flavor, crispy but not a thick heavy batter. The Parmesan crusted fish was perfect. Everything with seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Customer service was great. Atmosphere was amazing. We will definitely be back.
