Great restaurant! Went here on a business dinner and it was excellent. We booked the place early on Monday for Monday night. They have a very nice bar. I got an old fashion at the bar waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. The drink was good. The waiter was really good explained the menu and the specials. I also got to see the meat aging room. I got the lobster bisque for soup. Me and my colleague shared a tomahawk. We got some brussel sprouts and their famous Mac and cheese on the side. We got their cheesecake for desert. Over all the food was amazing and the ambience was great. Definitely recommend if you want good steaks.
Old school, old Washington, old boys club but for everyone. It’s a classic steak house. The waiters are old school. The prices are high. The meat is good. The portions are good. There are lots of back rooms for private events. Lots of waiters. A bar where you can be a local. TVs for those who want to watch sports. It feels like a private club.
We came here as a small group for a surprise birthday party for my son… We stopped at the bar before being sat at our table. The bartender and experience was decent. They have a nice cocktail menu and a huge wine list, with some decent by-the-glass offerings.
Once sat at the table (which they jazzed up with sparkles, but no bday card, like we’ve experienced at the Tysons location when going for special events in the past), our server was great… very friendly and attentive, as well as outgoing and accommodating. We started with the Nueske’s Cherrywood Smoked Bacon with Korean BBQ and their Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Mango and Sriracha and bother were fresh and tasty… the bacon is highly recommended!!
Next course was some salad, two of us split the Wedge with Bleu Cheese and Smoked Bacon, which was fresh and tasty. Love the smokey flavors of bleu cheese with bacon!
For dinner, they were offering an American Wagyu strip, as well as an 8ox lobster tail, so we had to get both of those. We also got their Kona-Crusted Dry Aged Bone-In NY Strip with Shallot Butter and their Dry Aged NY Strip au Poivre with Courvoisier Cream and the temps of our steaks were all spot on! The flavors were great and that Wagyu was OUTSTANDING!
Dessert was excellent as they made a huge platter of incredible sweets for the table.
Overall, it was another really nice experience… Highly recommend stopping in for a nice steakhouse diner!
Joey was an excellent server . He sure did know everything there was to know about the menu. The food and dessert were nothing but perfect. Oh, and my apple martini was amazing as well ! Thank you for the awesome time for my birthday !!!❤️ Will definitely be stooping by again when we're in town !
We finally went to The Capital Grille. It is a good experience to see what it is all about. We had reservations for 6:15. When we got there, we thought it was half full. We did not realize they had big dinning areas in the back. We got seated in the bar area. We ordered a really nice high end bottle of wine from the excellent wine selection. We did not even get half way through our first glass before the bar got super crowded. People standing up bumping our table and butts in our faces. We had to politely tell them if they knock over our wine they will be buying it. That part made the experience of a nice meal out, not as nice as it could have been. The service was top notch. They brought us some fresh bread for the table. For the appetizer we ordered the crab cake. Yum yum! Would totally order that again. We had the sliced Filet, Lobster Mac and cheese, and potatoes au gratin. The Filet was cooked perfectly, but the Lobster Mac was so good! The potato au gratin was boring compared to the Mac.
The ambiance and decor made to feel lite you were in an old restaurant hanging out with General Lee and wanting to smoke a cigar while being watched by the priced taxidermies animal looking down on you eating. But, it is obvious this place is well loved for its drink and wine collection. There are many personalized wine cubbies all over the restaurant entrance area.
Amazing meal and service. Service dog friendly. Worth the money. Creme Brule and lamp chops were so delicious.
Came here for happy hour and my friend and I had a divine experience. Sarah was our server and she was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. It was my first time and I had a lot of questions and she was able to steer me in the right direction. I ordered the chef selection Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions, wild mushrooms and fig essence, and it was cooked to perfection. For our appetizer we had the fried calamari and truffle fries that were also really good. With my steak Sarah recommended two different cabs so of course I had both ☺️ if you’re from DC or visiting like I was I highly recommend coming here for a good meal and even better service
Food was incredible and made to perfection. The hostess was great and our server was excellent. Only complaint was the seating. I called an hour in advance to make sure if I needed a reservation and I didn't. When my mom and I arrived not many people were in the restaurant and we were sat near the bathroom.
Try the calamari entree, it was amazing. Steak sandwich was also perfect. A bit more formal than we anticipated, when walking in with 2 kids. But they were very professional about it. They have a children’s menu even if it is not in the official menu.
The place had a great atmosphere, our server lacked energy and the food was not quite to my tastes compared to other steakhouses. I personally expected more from a restaurant of this caliber.
