There were six of us for dinner last night. Service was quick and efficient. The Kare Kare was very good along with the garlic fried rice, Bicol express, chicken, and crispy pata. The fresh lumpia was stale as if the ingredients were left out all day, the palabok had very little sauce and almost no taste. The sinigang ng bangus was good but could have been better. Our server Raquel was very professional and courteous. Max must improve their dishes in order to remain competitive.

This is the right place for those who misses the filipino food made traditionaly by filipino chefs. They also serve catering and event program just in time to have a get together with my friends and relatives for my coming birthday celebrations. Not pricey and super affordable. I usually order in advance wether dine in or take out. Very convenient and easy parking on a private lot right beside it. Max's Waipahu is situated along the highway. Kare-kare and crispy pata are my legendary favorites.

Filipino Food was ono! We had sweet tender pork adobo, tasty pansit, healthy chicken palia soup, sweet potato leaf salad & rice. Dessert was fun, nice presentation of their halohalo treat with the little umbrella. Their banana lumpia with ube and macupono icecream made it a sweet memory too. Nice place, clean, large open tables. Perfect for family gathering or office event. Cheerful and helpful service. My regards to their chefs💕

We always eat at Max's when we come to Hawaii. There was a big party today so we expected a long wait. Nope, we were seated in 5min. Ordered a few min after sitting and waited 5min for our food to come out. It was all nice a hot. There was 8 of us in our group so I was really impressed on the service, speed and freshness of out food. The employees were very friendly.
I love the Crispy Pata and the rest of the family gets they're usual home cooked Filipino food. If you like Filipino cuisine or just want home cooked food like we do then you can't go wrong at Max's.

One of my favorite food - is Filipino food! On Valentine's Day, my husband and I decided to take our family out instead of just the two of us to Max for a family date night. Our girls couldn't attend because they already had plans. Max's is always packed! We dined in and were seated at the corner - my hubby, myself, my baby sister, and my niece. It was only the 5 of us, but we were there to feast! The service was excellent, never had to ask for refills, and we did not wait long for our food, given how busy they were.
When our family got sick with Covid, Max's was our place to order soup and all the food from.
It is a little on the pricey side, but it is worth it if you don't want to cook. Our bill was $270 including the $35 gratuity added on by the server for a party of 5.
We will come back again, and again!

This restaurant is also a famous restaurant even back home in the Philippines. They serve Filipino food and their specialty is actually their chicken menu (fried, roasted, etc.) but they added other famous Filipino cuisines to their menu, even back home. It is a good restaurant for foreigners who are interested in trying Filipino food. Don't forget to eat halo-halo since it's a staple must-have in any Filipino restaurant. The servers speak Filipino to those who miss speaking the mother tongue. They accept local and foreign credit cards.
