Food was good, but kitchen was a bit slow even with relatively few customers. Luckily the atmosphere was good even without the live band so it was not a terrible wait. Just maybe plan on enjoying the courtyard for a bit and don't get stressed if food takes a while. It's worth it.
Our server was Colombian and really great. We agreed there should be a Colombian meal as a special. Maybe on Mondays? He described a great meal that's his favorite that should fit right in on the menu! :)
Stumbled upon this place picking up late night food after work and it did NOT disappoint! The food was amazing. Empanadas were the best I’ve ever had. Jerk chicken was flavorful and just the right amount of spicy! Cuban sandwich was incredible as well. The ambiance was cute and cozy with live music. 10/10 recommend. This will be my new go to spot 🙏
This place is adorable and I loved the jerk chicken. Very spicy. Coconut rice and peas were tasty and the salad had a nice citrus dressing on it. It was lovely. Mine came right out. I was the only one there!!! I wished people were at this place on a Tuesday night.
Awesome food service and ambience. Loved the red snapper withbcream sauce, and of course the empanadas!

The Empanada Lady restaurant is well designed and the owner did an amazing job renovating the space, and creating a one-of-a-kind experience on Maui for everyone who wants to feel joy and welcome in a real Caribbean family atmosphere! I love the ambience here. Sarah (the owner / chef) puts her heart and soul into the place to make everyone happy. She also has a full bar, and sometimes - on the right occasion - a full dance floor :) The cocktails are great - I love the banana mama and lilikoi margarita and the empanadas are delicious. For locals, Sarah often has exciting events, parties, shows and catchy music that carries you away! I have so much respect for her in creating this haven and special sanctuary for friends, joyous occasions, and bubbly good times.
Great place the atmosphere is amazing and the empanadas are on point. The beef was excellent highly recommend. It took a long time to get them but we got there right when they opened. We also ordered the Jerk chicken I loved it but it is really spicy so you need to love spicy otherwise stay away from it or you’ll need a cup of milk to kill the burn. Well worth the wait.
Charming place. Loved the live music and eclectic art. The food was tasty. We were a party of 10. Of course, you have to try the empanada. Service was off but they are short staffed.
I love 😍 love love this jewel of a restaurant! It's my new fave! I even called my bestie in NYC to plan her next trip here because of my experience lol! The decor and ambiance were so amazing and artfully presented, I wanted to lounge there all afternoon. My meal was so delectable and the portions beautifully abundant that I wanted to finish but couldn't! I had the empanada trio with beef and pork and a side of rice and peas.. wow! I wanted to order so many other things on the menu so I'll just have to go back again... and again! Treat yourself and go to The Empanada Lady!
Pretty quiet night I think it was midweek. Only two tables had people. Good vegan curry. Friend had empanadas and chicken curry both looked great.
Very nice spot. We got the beef empanadas and they came out nice and fresh. They tasted pretty good. They only have outdoor seating and there’s parking right in front of the shop. The place is very clean and the person taking our orders was wiping down the paying pot after we touched it so we were comfortable using our hands to eat. The empanadas are about $5 each. Nice spot, would go back again. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick snack.
