Review Hannara Restaurant - Waianae

This place has been a culinary establishment for some of the best combinations of Asian, American & Hawaiian food for decades. The atmosphere is friendly, great service, everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. I'm going back for Korean or Hawaiian Food next time!!!

We had a delicious lunch in this hidden restaurant. It looks small from the outside but is large inside. All day breakfast, plate lunch, a full Hawaiian menu, and even Korean food.

Found this place looking for Loco Moco during my visit to Hawaii. Compared to the other restaurants gravy looked the best in pictures at Hannah's. The meat patties were fluffy and juicy. Portions were extremely generous. The gravy...savory and perfectly seasoned. The mac salad was pretty good and the egg was perfectly cooked over easy. Highly recommended and when I go back I will make the truck to have their Loco Moco again. It was really good!

Good local restaurant with Korean, Hawaiian, Japanese food. The tripe stew with poi was the best.

We went on a Saturday and made sure to call our order in before we got there. Called the order in at 9 a.m and got there at 9:30 a.m. and our food was ready to go. It was completely packed! Almost no parking spots and a lot of people waiting outside the door. The food was delicious! So it's no wonder there was a line. First time getting food from here, but we weren't disappointed. Definitely coming back.

Managed To Get Some Great Quality Eats, I Ordered The Famous Hanarah Fried Rice Omelet. And Took Home A Loco Moco For The Little One.

11 Sept 22, Sunday $12.95 before tax. Hamburger steaks with rice, mac salad and gravy, regular size. 2 soft and thick meat patties with generous amounts of gravy and fried onions, best with a spoon, can't go wrong for the price

My friend that lived here told me about this place. It's a little out of the way but so so so worth it. The food is great! Macadamia pancakes and Kailua pig plate are among our favorites. Staff is so friendly and prices are great.

Overall would give this a 3.5 based on the service. My food was amazing (had the Famous Hannara Omelet) but not a fan of the mini hash brown side. I am still amazed at how many places skimp on one of the most cheap and common veggies known to man when they have an exceptional margin even without skimping, but I don't take it personal- just perplexed. Daughter had a waffle, egg and potatoes (the waffle was nothing special (not crisp or any special mix) but good). Once the food is served they pretty much just leave you alone, which is not really exceptional service if you're thirsty. Also, the way they did the check was different than your average restaurant (they don't drop it off at table, you walk up to register and they use their memory to remember which customer you were- which showed they were quite intelligent to remember, but I could see how that could create a problem as well as how it also creates a bottleneck at the register to pay, while they sift through the tickets; I'm not grading them on their method however). They only have Tabasco here so if you like to add real spice you won't get that here for breakfast. They also do not have Unsweetened Tea (also surprised by this since it costs less than or equal to $0.05/gal and the margin is around $11.95 profit/gal). I know this review is more critical than many others but I just see them as opportunity to improve service as this side of the island may begin to see more tourism in the near future.

Delcious hamburger steak. Will be back. The gravy was a good flavor and consistency. The fries wre plentiful and the Mac salad was the best I've had

A great local restaurant. We had the Hannara special which was more than enough for two people. The ladies were super nice

The loco moco was one of the best I've had on the island. The meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection, the gravy was amazing, egg cooked to perfection and the rice was just right. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture until I was halfway finished eating!! The kalua pork we got on the side was also delicious

Went here after doing some volunteer work at the district park for lunch. Atmosphere was rather soothing and the staff was friendly. I got the "Hawaiian Plate" and it was "ono-licious". This place has never disappointed me yet. Looking forward to my next visit!
