Every time we've gone to Shige's, the food is excellent! I had my usual Small Saimin and a Teri Beef Sandwich. I love how their Teri meat is do tender. My husband decide to try the Teri Beef plate. He enjoyed every bit of it. Can't wait until I take another drive to Wahiawa, my hometown, again!

Definitely a go to when family comes home to visit from the mainland. Any time the family is craving for saimin, wonton min , bbq sticks, roast beef plate or the hot roast beef sandwich, everything is the bomb. Shige Saimin rocks!!! 5+

Have been going to Shige’s for at least 10 years, and whenever there’s friends visiting from the mainland this is our go to place. My favorite order is their saimin with homemade noodles, and juicy hamburgers. I never get tired of them.

Best Mom/Pop Saimin place to eat. Gotta love the hamburger/Saimin together, it's a cute joint tucked in a corner of Wahiawa town.

Went there again today and had regular small saimin and hamburger and Gwen had hamburger steak. Was awesome as usual and thank you to the crew. We had fun taking photos!

This was an interesting experience, to say the least. The interior has a bit of a divey 1950's American diner feel. The owners make use of spaces in the dining area as storage for some of their supplies. No biggie though, we've seen plenty of that here in NY. This takes nothing away from the level of service, as the wait staff here were super friendly. Saimin has a good chewy bounce that's reminiscent of Japanese ramen, though with a curly and uneven texture, it gives off a different and satisfying mouth feel as you chew, and is great for picking up the soups and broths that it is served in. That said, the Miso Saimin and Vegetable Saimin had similar tasting broths, and both were satisfying, albeit light in flavor, bowls of noodles. The Fried Saimin, however, was very salty!! Perhaps I didn't order the right things? I should like to withhold judgement until I've tried all of the offerings (there's a whole burger patty menu that I've yet to try), but as it stands, the noodle dishes seemed only okay.

We always visit Shige’s when we swing through town. Even though there’s usually a line outside, it moves quickly and the food is well worth it. We order the saimin, but the skewers are lovely too. The small is a good size portion, but it’s so delicious I always regret not getting the large! Super friendly folks, handmade noodles, just try!

Mandatory clean comfort food on a rainy day. They have such a nice clear broth that is both salty and light. Ordered a very quick $8 small bowl of saimin, killed it, and left under 10 minutes.

I wanted to eat fried saimin and decided to go there. The restaurant was very busy with locals. Everyone ordered saimin and cheeseburger. We ordered saimin, fried saimin, wanton soup and locomoco. All were good but a bit too salty. The waiter and waitress were very kind and friendly.

This is the best Saimin ever!!! Noodles are bouncy and chewy - made fresh every morning. Broth has a lot of depth and it all goes so well with hot mustard and a cheeseburger. And the service is super friendly and kind. They offer lots of things on the menu, so I will be back for more!

My son says this is his fav restaurant. I will agree. The food is delicious, restaurant is clean, prices are fair and above all the service is amazing. Andrew, John and the other servers here are fast past yet they have time to make you feel welcomed. Truly Hawaiian style here. We are staying in Waianae and make the drive out here for dinner. That's how much we love Shige's.

A delicious hole in the wall spot. Highly recommend! Prices, good and fair. No surprises. Location was a bit tricky for a tourist to find but it's well situated in the middle of the island if you're driving through to the North Shore or Honolulu on the other end. Service was super welcoming and helpful when telling us about their specialties. Atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Food, this was amazing! Great flavors and all around a big hit for us as we needed something simple and quick. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been and are passing through.

An amazing must visit hole-in-the-wall restaurant! If you want authentic saimin this is the place. A small group of us came here after a long trip around the island and wanted some cheap quality food. The saimin noodles are made fresh every morning and you can tell! We got the regular saimin, curry wonton, fried saimin, and the beef sticks (pictured). You can also switch out the noodle types to wonton or udon, but the udon is not made fresh. I was expecting cheap tasting ramen-like broth, but I was wonderfully mistaken. All the dishes were amazing and light, not oily or heavy. We also loved our server. Sometimes local treasures like these discourage tourists, but our server was so kind! He explained the dishes to us and gave us some history on the place, obviously he was passionate about the restaurant which was great to see! 20/10 must recommend

I found this place through the 2021 Ilima Awards. It’s out of the way, but definitely worth the trip. I got a large curry saimin with wontons and a side of Mac salad. My party got the saimin, wonton mein, cheeseburger, and bbq stick. All of the food was superb and the portion sizes were large for their price. The burgers are a must have, the homemade patty was tender, flavorful, and just out of this world. The noodles were springy and held on to the curry. Overall, this place is amazing. Friendly staff and great service, tasty food with large portions, at a very affordable price! TLDR: Great service, fantastic food, large portions, affordable. Definitely worth going to!

Nice and affordable hole-in-the-wall place for some Hawaiian food. We ordered the saimin and loco moco. They tasted delicious, though the loco moco gravy was quite salty. It is out of the way from Waikiki but we recommend if you want to try some local cuisine.

Shige's Saimin Stand is a great little gem of Wahiawa. I stopped there to eat while taking a little ride. It's been years since I been there. I ordered their fried saimin with a hamburger (my favorite). It was so good, just like I remembered and the staff was friendly and the service was great. Nothing important has changed, and that's a great thing. 😊🤙

Don’t know why I haven’t rated this place. We been coming here for years since they opened which I can’t remember when. Food is simple and satisfying. Saimin is the best - homemade noodles! The burgers are the best home made of course! Fried Saimin is awesome! Shige’s is Wahiawa’s best kept secret! Everything in this little place at the end of a strip mall is ono! Prices are right and the service is always good!

Great service. They were very on top of everything and were so nice. We ordered a large won tun min with extra veggie and a BBQ burger deluxe and shared. It was more then enough. Greay place to pop in for some comfort food like saimin. Just a random fyi they don't have fries lol. I'll be back for sure if I'm in the area.

Shige's is a long time Wahiawa staple! They are know for their saimin+fried saimin. On a rainy day, locals come to enjoy a hot bowl of saimin or won ton mein with a side of grilled cheese or BBQ burger Take out during the pandemic was really easy here. You can call your order in and drive by to pick it up. There is lots of accessible parking very close to the restaurant. (The lot is one way only so best to enter from Kamehameha Hwy) My favorite order is a small saimin and a BBQ deluxe burger (BBQ burger with lettuce, tomato and onion)

The Best Saimin in Oahu. Their Teriyaki Burgers were incredible. Go here if you want to eat where the locals eat. Affordable and super friendly.
