Stopped by the Northampton Blvd. location on the way out of town specifically for a grinder sandwich. I hadn’t had a Zero’s sub in about 20 years and I was NOT let down by the experience.
I went in shortly after opening (around 1045) and ordered a whole grinder sub, all the way, to go for a road snack on my way back up North. The young man taking my order, who was in there solo, took my order, and immediately jumped back into the kitchen to get it going. Less than 10 mins later I had my grinder in the signature Zero’s paper wrap and bag and hit the road. I mentioned to the gentleman there that I hadn’t had a Zero’s grinder in about 20 years and how much I was looking forward to it and he let me know that I was about to have a great sub, which I thought was really cool and showed pride in his work.
The grinder tasted exactly how I remembered the last one I had when I was a ne’er-do-well youth and I was instantly transported back to the Zero’s oceanfront location circa the early 2000’s. It was a whole vibe. The roll was the perfect crusty exterior, the meats and cheeses were expertly toasted, yet somehow the veggies remained crispy, cold, and fresh. Such a bomb sandwich!
In summary, the food and the service were absolutely top notch! 5 stars all day! Thank you so much to the Zero’s franchise for the experience and the memories.
So impressed with the space, staff and overall atmosphere. The Premium American Sub is delicious (minus the cheese for me..ijs). Definitely my new spot for a freshly prepared sub. Try it out. No regrets.
Today I had the half Oven Baked Grinder add hot peppers. It was very good. Very well done and crunchy sub bun just like I ordered it. The staff were extremely friendly.
Zeros has one of the best subs bar none.
THE GRINDER and this location does it right and they have great customer service.
Now that I’m working just down the street, it makes me happy!
Had the wings mild and grilled veggies with out bun it was awesome thank u will be back when in town
Searched for a grilled vegetable sub and found one here. I ordered it on the phone and it was ready when I got there 15 minutes later. The cashier was nice and employees were friendly. I will definitely be back. Much better than the Norfolk location.
I had a Philly Steak and it was delicious. The dining room was very clean. The employees were extremely polite.
Ordered a Philly chesse steak, an Italian Gladiator, some fries, chicken tenders and Mild Wings. Everything waa delicious! Especially the Wings and the Italian Gladiator. Staff was very friendly as well!
ORDERED grinder BEEN 8 years since last visit. Nicely toasted was delicious. Just needed more vinegar as requested. Only complaint not much meat. Will try meatball next time. Appears one OF OWNERS at cash register training a new employee. So he was great with customer . Request cookie N handed me one but did not ask me what kind ?
I've been going to Zeros since I went to ODU in 1979. My hot ham and cheese brought back memories.
