But of a surprise for me here. Been here before, a while ago and wasn't impressed. Totally different experience. I enjoyed my visit. Staff was extremely helpful!

Great food, as fast as taco Bell, better tasting and has margarita! And the staff is awesome and very thoughtful! And don't forget about the plethora of sauces

Excellent service and great food with fresh ingredients. The staff is always super friendly! I ordered blackened chicken flautas to go which come with sour cream, guacamole,& queso. Also receive a small bag of tortilla chips. The flautas were still warm and crispy when I arrived home. Absolutely delicious!! There is an inside and outside eating area. Inside is very colorful and bright! Outside is nice with umbrellas attached to the tables. If you like to experiment with different sauces, there is a sauce bar inside with specialty sauce flavors ranging from mild to hot hot.

I’m giving 5 stars because Sam at the Virginia Beach location was extremely helpful and genuinely friendly. She went above and beyond to make sure our order was correct and bagged up well. She was descriptive when explaining all food items and what they came with and she had the best customer service we’ve encountered in a long time.

Let me start by saying Samantha is amazing. She was helpful, patient and showed excellent customer service. We are from out of town so we came to try Tijuana for the 1st time. The food is really good. With that said I ordered 2 kids meals and they didn't get their treat/candy in either. We also paid for extra sides of sour cream, salsa and Guacamole and didn't recieve it either. Lastly my rice was dry and crunchy. So I was a little disappointed but all in all I would give them another try.

My friend and I had wanted to try another restaurant but it was closed. But what a wonderful happenstance because Tijuana Flats was there beckoning for us to try it out! And I am so happy we did.
As soon as you enter, you are transported to a very colorful and lively place with colorful characters on the wall, a hot bar on the far left side with all kinds of spicy sauce for you to pick from!
Neat concept is that their menus are a few steps from the door so you can peruse instead of standing by the order counter. Makes for expedient service. And talk about service, ordering and getting your order served we’re in record time. I ordered the garlic (grilled) shrimp bowl. The shrimp was nicely grilled, wish for slightly seasoned taste. The bowl had good serving of rice, corn, avocado, greens, etc. the ingredients were fresh.

First time being here, I ordered the cheesy steak flautas which came with a side of chips & cheese. it was soooo delicious. Very seasoned and flavorful. There was a hot bar that served different hot sauces by a scale. It was little but cute and comfy in here. Atmosphere & Food taste were both 10/10

I have passed by this restaurant several times in the past, thinking I should try it one day. I'm glad that day was on Tijuana Tuesdaze. You get 2 tacos and a drink for $6.99. The tacos were large, and the price was very reasonable. The shells were crispy and light without completely breaking up on your first bite. I had chicken and carnitas. They were delish! The service was great as well. They have a hotsauce bar with a range of sauce from sweet to hot.
The only downside was the naming of some of the sauces. I can't imagine taking a child there and hearing them say they want the "Smack my sweet A@! & call me Sally sauce. " Unfortunately, there are others named like this.
Update:
I went back and tried the fish tacos. Oh my goodness... they were superb!! The pickled onions and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside fish, were the stars of the show!

I was impressed! I came with a friend and enjoyed the burrito bowl. Not a fan of the black beans not being rinsed. 🤪 It is more mushy than beans.
Loved the hot sauce choices. Tried 5 different flavors/heats. Loves Jason's mom's sauce and the green Sally sauce. Very impressed that each sauce has a very distinct taste to it. So many places just add heat and no flavor. Not so with Tijuana flats! Try them all!
The chips are wonderfully seasoned and the perfect crunch. There are people that will come by and check on you and ask if you need a drink refill.
Absolutely loved that they have a ceiling tile contest occasionally, where locals can purchase a ceiling tile for $5 and paint a picture they are inspired to do and have a chance to win a $50 gift card. Adds such a fun atmosphere!
There are no trash cans. They have people that come by and collect the trash after you leave. Please be kind and don't leave a huge mess. I saw one table that did that. 😵💫 And they are such kind people.
