What a great experience and delicious, beautifully presented sushi. Sweet Shrimp was so pretty! They gifted me with a little cucumber dish and the most perfectly sized chocolate dessert morsel I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The interior was warm and cozy, and very clean and tidy. The service was top notch. And the prices were SO reasonable, especially post-COVID. I appreciated the sake carafe prices mostly. The perfect sushi experience. Can’t wait to come back when I visit.

Fuji Yama is my favorite sushi restaurant in Virginia Beach.
All staffs are nice there, especially the boss. She is super nice and did care about people. Every time I came, she will chat with me.
She makes sure all food and sushi are fresh.
Dragon Roll, Friday Night, Twin Tower are the rolls that I order most often.
Dragon roll has cucumber, crab meet, tuna inside, and avocado, eel, and roe on the top.
Friday Night has shrimp tempura, crabmeat and seaweed inside, which is really special. I have never tried the rolls with seaweed in other restaurants.
Twin Tower is my favorite, there are shrimp tempura an ell inside, crab meat and avocado on the top.
Takoyaki is off-menu dish. It’s only available when the boss is here. But I do think it’s the signature dish. You can ask if it’s available.
If I can rate 10 stars, I’ll definitely do. Recommend this restaurant to everyone who comes to Virginia Beach❤️

Really enjoyed my time here.
Food is decent, however, their customer service is pretty much top-notched.
I really liked my specialty rolls, but spicy tuna was little off (wish it was more spicy).
Their dining area is very open and their kitchen is visibly clean.

I've been dining here for the last 15 years. The food is always fresh, service is always prompt and friendly. They will often bring a complimentary roll for you to try along with your food and also usually bring cheesecake bites with the bill.

The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The food is amazing. I had the Tuna Tataki, sashimi dinner and Sushi Eel. All the fish taste very fresh and high grade. They are cut well and generous in portion. Beautiful presentation. Friendly service. Currently eating at the bar is closed. My only disappointment is: I'm in a beautiful Japanese restaurant going to eat Japanese food and I have to listen to English pop song just spoil the Japanese ambiance. It's like going to Olive Garden and hear Japanese music playing. LOL. If you don’t mind the song, then the food is great. Enjoy.

We wanted a sushi night on our vacation and found this place on Yelp. My wife, kids and I love sushi. The place is clean inside and the service was very good. The sushi was great. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Very nice place to enjoy sushi.

Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful and attentive staff, but the best part is the SUSHI. So fresh and yummy! At a really good price, what more could you possibly ask for. Me and my boyfriend loved it. Highly recommend to sushi lovers.

This sushi is exceptional. I have been living in Virginia for two years now and been to countless sushi restaurants since it is my favorite food - even 5-star places in DC and Fuji Yama was the best sushi I have had in Virginia. The rice was absolutely spot on. I know what you're thinking...the rice?? but the quality and cook of the rice truly sets apart good from bad sushi... so many restaurants struggle with this and I think it is because they use leftover rice or dethawed rice from frozen or just lack of experience...whatever Fuji Yama did/does- it is perfect. I have only been here once and maybe I got lucky, but it was enough for me to want to write a review - share kudos. The server was also super pleasant and even brought over a free roll for us to try - it was deep fried (not something I would normally order), but wow, was it heavenly!!! Keep doing what you're doing, Fuji Yama! I will be back.

Decided to try this place while stay-cationing @ First Landing State Park with my 9 year old son who can eat his weight in sashimi. We were so impressed! The atmosphere was inviting & the staff was helpful & warm. The menu had a variety of choices & we found all the sashimi choices we wanted as well as a large selection of special rolls. When the food arrived I was stunned by the gorgeous presentation! The sashimi my son ordered looked super fresh & the portions generous. My rolls were perfectly rolled-nice & compact with just a slim layer of rice. The combination of flavors was amazing. We will not hesitate to return to this gem!

Fujiyama is hands down my favorite local sushi spot. They have a wide variety on their menu and have something for everyone, even if you aren't so keen on sushi. However, if you are, I recommend trying their sashimi tuna and all of their sushi! Thank you Fujiyama for providing an excellent place to dine!!
