Review Neptune's Restaurant - Virginia Beach

Went here for Thanksgiving Dinner. We had a reservation for 2:15pm and did not get seated until 3:30. I had to be at work at 6 so not so happy about making a reservation that wasn't honored. Besides that, the food was incredible! My boyfriend and I are pescatarian and they had an extensive menu for our diets. Our server was phenomenal, Russian lady by the name of Sveta (hope I'm saying it right), she hands down turned the experience around for us! If hostesses would have gotten it right would have left 5 stars.

WoW! Great food! Great energy! The staff was so friendly, sincere, and attentive. And what an array of various foods, appitizers, entres, and more. To eat delicious food with family all while having the gorgeous view of the wide open Atlantic Ocean and oceanfront. Was just beautiful, friendly fun with great family and great food.

Excellent food great price. Alex was super hospitable! Definitely visiting again soon!!

This food was the best buffet ever at Virginia Beach. My family of 8 was super impressed. The waitress was awesome. She was talkative, kind, and was always filling our drinks up. The fried Oysters was my family favorite, but I personally loved the crab legs. I ate tons. They pulled right out. We were a little nervous to go here because of the reviews, but was so glad when we did. This was honestly super amazing. Better than King of the sea which was terrible. The deserts were awesome!! She crab soup was real crab meat because of the little shells you would find in it. Over all. Amazing and tasty. We are going to make this a new tradition for every year we come. :)

Amazing service, view and food is fresh, cooked to order and absolute perfection!

Food was good the serving size was bigger then excepted. Service was really good! Better then most places in the Beach. Was a little disappointed in the selection of seafood. But we were there for lunch, so it may have been a reduced menu. We will definitely go back! Also the patio had a wonderful view of the ocean!

We has seen the advertisements in the past for the lobster buffet but had read some of the past reviews and always decided to take a pass. This year we decided to try it for Thanksgiving and came away extremely pleased. The buffet itself has a lot of items. Lobster, crab legs, shrimp and all of the Thanksgiving favorites, including a carving station with turkey and ham. We went for the lobster and we got our wish. We had a 12:30 reservation and the place was packed when we got there. Despite the rush, the buffet was completely stocked with quality food. The lobsters are just another item on the buffet. You don’t have to special order them. Just walk up and help yourself. There was never a time when they ran out. They were anywhere from 1-2 pounds in size and perfectly cooked. The same was true for nearly every other item we tried. Complimenting the food was our service. Our waitress, Tonya was always there when needed whether it be to clear shells or provide re-fills. A look around showed that we were not the only ones getting that type of service. Management was very visible and made sure that things were kept moving along smoothly. In short, we came away pleasantly surprised by our experience. They may have had some rough times in the past but our visit showed a restaurant that had its act together. I would not be surprised if this became a family tradition of ours. Great food, great service and no dishes to clean up at the end! Well done Neptune!

Son and husband got the buffet and it was fantastic. I ordered the chicken fingers because I can't eat that much. It took forever to get them and they were overcooked. 4 fingers for $9 is too much. We will eat there again but I will order something else. Servers were awesome and very attentive.

Waitress was very good, very friendly. Food was fine. Most of the reviews on these restaurants are way too picky. Go ahead and try Neptunes. This is not a big 10 star restaurant, few are. Its a simple, well staffed restaurant with a buffet. No complaints. The She-Crab soup was fantastic, the scallops top notch, baked fish wonderful. Salad bar was real good and the fruit and dessert table above average. 31 bucks is a little steep, but get your $3 off coupon and sit outside, dining on the beach/ocean with someone you love. You won't regret it....

We stopped in here mostly because it was in walking distance of our hotel, though I was a little hesitant because of some of these reviews. However, now I'm mostly just confused. We had the dinner buffet, which includes some good quality crab legs, and for the most part, all of the food was at least decent (all restaurants have their weak spots). Our waitress was also very nice and attentive. Definitely give it a go!

Great food, reasonable prices, amazing view - friendly service.

Neptune's does NOT make you choose between quality and quantity in terms of their menu choices. Many great options that appeal to a wide variety of tastes will cater to whatever you're in the mood for. Staff is also very nice and accommodating. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I'd say the taste is really good, but not outstanding. (With the exception of the amazing sweet and spicy wings and, strangely, the chocolate milk which is so unique and delicious).

Went right at the start of dinner. Timing was perfect for family with young children. Staff was very accomodating and service was good. Food was very tasty. Only negative part would be in agreement with a precious review, atmosphere is dated. We stayed in the attached hotel and the atmosphere is the same. It appears to have been around for a long time and is having trouble keeping up with the times.

The place was quite OK giving the option its near to boardwalk, it could be better.<br/><br/>I had IPA and Bahama mama and my friend had bloody mary and mojito. The drink was good. <br/><br/>we ordered chicken nachos, Oysters, Crab, wings and I liked the food. service was good.

We went with the high school band and they were very accommodating for 20 people. However the food was very average (imperial crab was delicious though), I was expecting a lot more for the price.<br/><br/>The service was good though, but the bathroom was outside and you had to get a key for it. I would not recommend trying it... I would rather spend 30 on a good entree than an average buffet.

Great dining experience. Our family went to Neptune's for Thanksgiving dinner today. We were all very pleased. The buffet was plentiful and everything was delicious. The men went for the seafood selections primarily: whole lobsters, large crab leg clusters, fried and peel'n'eat shrimp, oysters, clams, salmon. We ladies chose turkey (both roasted and fried), ham, and wonderful lean and tender prime rib. There were traditional Thanksgiving sides, a nice salad bar and a fantastic dessert display (cheesecake, creme brulee, pies, fruit tarts, coconut custard,and pudding were some of the items). I really liked the lobster bisque; very velvety texture and delicately spiced. Traditional and oyster stuffings were great, and the mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had in a restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly, made a few recommendations of her favorites, and kept the table clear of used plates and promptly brought drink refills. We all agreed that we'd like to come back next Thanksgiving, plus try the Sunday Brunch buffet soon.<br/>I read some negative reviews, but do not understand why people were not satisfied. We highly recommend Neptune's.

Actually sitting in the restaurant writing this. Was recommended however I read all the terrible reviews aa well. I think others sugar coated the experience. No food on buffets which we did not order and instead got two appear ans two kid spaghetti. The appear came and we were told the kids meals "would come later"!!!! No one could tell us how long and our waitress was miserable, I believe she literally hates her job. We cut the cost to 26.00 for 4 and it wasn't worth 26 cents. Eat at your own risk....

Not Recommended!. Neptunes has the worst service I have ever experienced!!!! The waitresses and the manager were extremely rude and very unprofessional. Our party of 11 ended up leaving before we ordered our dinner because the service was horrible! I would recommend Captain George's if you are looking for great food and service! When you are paying $30 or more per person to eat dinner you should be receiving outstanding service...don't waste your time and money at Neptunes!!!

Average. The buffet is 28.99 per person. The food was average. The service was good!

Total garbage, ate one plate of food from their buffet, nothing was fresh, shrimp was inedible. Pass on this place and you will be much better off.

Seriously?. My family came in prior to the dinner rush for a light meal before heading home to DC. After ordering drinks, we decided to have some appetizers, a few entrees, and share between the four of us. THe waiter informed us we would be charged $7 apiece if we didn't each order a full entree. So we left after paying for our drinks. One more empty table for them on a slow Tuesday evening. Service counts!

The WORST seafood buffet ever. The crablegs were so rubbery they would not even "crack".....28.99 per person...and noone cares if you like the food or not....DO NOT GO!

Shockingly average. My group of 7 ate here a dew days before the Shamrock Marathon. Nothing was bad, but then nothing was any good. Crab dip was bland and without any flavor. Crab cakes were average at best. Steamed shrimp an crab legs were without any taste or flavor. Even my beer on tap was flat and undrinkable. (had to send it back for a bottled beer). Unfortunately I just cannot on good faith recommend this place .
