Our server did a great job taking care of us tonight. We enjoyed everything from the bread to the tiramisu. The rich flavor of the ingredients and the freshness made each dish so pleasurable to eat. Grilled octopus and sauteed calamari were so savory that we intentionally took our time to enjoy every bite. Frutti de mare (tonight's special) and spaghetti alle vongole were amazing as well. We appreciated the generous portion of the seafood in each dish. Tiramisu was the perfect dessert to conclude this wonderful meal. Truly this is one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.
I would give this place 20 stars if I could. The atmosphere of this place was amazing and the food was incredible. The host, Fabio, I believe is also the owner. He has created an amazing restaurant experience that is truly a gem and you can tell by the amount of regulars who were in the place, buy wine, and chat for hours.
Virginia Beach is filled with very touristy restaurants that care more about cash grabbing, turning over tables, and price gouging....rather than creating an actual experience worth talking about.
Sirena is the opposite. Worth every penny. Amazing service No rush. And INCREDIBLE food. Highly recommend the gnocchi.
It was great to come across this place after 9 days in Virginia Beach trying restaurants with lackluster service and food.
The entire city should learn from this restaurant!
note: you're going to need to make reservations because this place is obviously very popular with its regular customers.
Salut!!
Consistently THE BEST Italian food in Hampton Roads. And one of the best restaurants in Hampton Roads. See for yourself! And don't pay attention to some of the other reviews this place is fabulous. I'm a regular here and I've never been disappointed and I'm always pleasantly surprised.
We popped in for a casual weekday dinner and were completely impressed with menu variety and incredible quality of our meals. My wife and I ordered two specials (halibut and seafood medley) that were simply superb!
I have to start by saying that as a chef from a Sicilian family, I am very particular about my food, especially Italian, and I take it very seriously. To the point where one negative aspect will ruin the entire meal and experience for me. That being said, I took my mother here for dinner tonight. The experience couldn't possibly have been any better. The bread while we waited was flawless. The crispy crust was perfectly thin and the bread was perfect. Even the water was the best I've ever had. Seriously, when the water gets your attention, it says a whole lot. The drinks were perfect and not watered down. I had the linguine con calamari. The roasted vegetables, capers, and cherry tomatoes were the perfect compliment to the dish. The sauce was spot on in flavor and texture, with just the right amount of kick to it to wake up your tastebuds. The calamari was so fresh and right in the sweet spot of perfectly cooked to the peak of tenderness. My mother had the lump flounder special with gnocchi, pine nuts, spinach, and raisins. As a lifelong native of Virginia Beach, my second passion behind cooking has always been fishing. I have been catching, cleaning, and preparing fresh fish dishes since I was 9 years old. In the 34 years since, I've made some amazing and memorable dishes. But nothing came close to what I tasted tonight. That dish was hands down the single greatest thing I've ever tasted in my life, and that is the highest praise I can ever give. Hats off to the chef, I tip my hat to you. The tiramisu was flawless. Real tiramisu with house made lady fingers. Not the previously frozen low budget cake version every other restaurant around here serves. The atmosphere is perfectly cozy, and the staff is wonderful, kind, and very welcoming. No amount of words and praise can ever give this experience the credit it deserves. I found my new favorite restaurant, and I couldn't be happier that it's across the street from my house. Everybody here deserves a congratulations on a job well done, you're amazing and I wish you a lifetime of success and happy guests.
Sirena has fantastic food and service. Old world pasta dishes that make you so happy you are eating them.
Amazing food, cool owner, good wine selection the only thing I’d recommend is to put a sauce type on the description
Amazing place to eat an authentic Italian meal. The owner is not apologetic about doing it his way so don’t try to change what is already perfect. The answer will be no!
our first time eating at Sirena was at the recommendation of a friend and they did not steer us wrong! the food was authentic, very tasty, and made from fresh ingredients. the salad was crisp and tasty, the house made bread was accompanied by EEVO that is delish, and all of our entrees were excellent. the portion size will make you want to share or take home for lunch. we will definitely be back. reservations are suggested.
Locally owned where the owner, Fabio, is always in the restaurant. Real Italian food prepared superbly.
Update: Still as good as ever. Service is great only outdone by the delicious food.
We loved this place when it was in Norfolk so we took the drive to Va Beach and found the food to be every bit as good. The owner remembered us though we have not seen him in years. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and directed us to a great bottle of wine. The highest praise I can give to the restaurant is it is the only restaurant that my wife will order something different every time we had gone previously because what ever she orders is her new favorite.
My only drawback is it was 5 minutes away now it's 35 minutes. I also must say I liked the charm of the old location, but none of this has any bearing on the food. I seriously recommend the food here, you will not be disappointed unless you choose to be.
We were pleasantly survived with attention to detail and the quality of our meals. Kelly did her best to take care of our needs ( much appreciated). The wine was wonderful, due all being calorie conscious we did not partake in any desserts, but plan to on our next visit.
Sirena is one of the very few places in Southside where you can get Italian food cooked with spices. Because the folks in this region are not fond of the taste of Italian spices, most of the restaurants dumb down this cuisine. Get a reservation and go to Sirena for really well-prepared Italian. You will not regret it.
Loved my meal. I had the chicken florentine and the taste was amazing. The place feels small when you enter but is really intimate and cozy. The owner seated us and our waitress was knowledgeable. I would definitely eat there again and would bring friends and family. The only thing I didn't love was the chairs. They are bare hard wood. Definitely not comfy.
A great place to dine, my first time there, the owner came up during the meal, checked on everything and said my spoon will become my best friend. He wasn't kidding, the sauce was outstanding mixed with the mussels, clams shrimp and calamari that you used the spoon on every bite to enjoy it all. The bread dipped in oil and fresh parmesan was warm and perfectly crusted. Definitely worth another trip.
