Review The Cheesecake Factory - Virginia Beach

Glider RS
The appetizers were fantastic. The entrees were good. The cheesecake looked fancy but I really expected something more from it. Also kind of strange that they don't take RSVPs for parties over 6, but then when you show up they aren't ready.

Such a nice place to be and the food was so good! Our Waiter was perfect and attentive as well. I'll go back again for sure!

I tend to love everything I ever get here. On my latest visit, I got the Steak Diane. Amazing! And the macaroni is one of my favorites. But, as a mashed potato connoisseur, I was disappointed. That, doesn't detract from the score though. Just don't get the mashed potatoes unless you don't like flavor.

Came in on July 4th for a little date before going out to the oceanfront to see the fireworks. Had an enjoyable evening here. The young woman that took care of us was attentive and our experience went smoothly. Would definitely return. We had some of the pasta dishes as well as the egg roll appetizer. I really didn’t enjoy that Avocado egg roll but that’s just a personal preference thing. It was pretty overwhelming still 5/5 will be back in the near future.

Very happy to see another vegan option besides the Impossible Burger. This vegan Cobb Salad did not disappoint. I added Korean Fried Cauliflower to give the salad a little something extra...delicious!!!

I've been here quite a few times and usually enjoy myself here. The menu is definitely overwhelming as they have a plethora of options to choose from, but I don't have many options due to dietary restrictions. Their food is good, can be better. I wish they had more plant based and vegan items on the menu though. The servers there are always very polite, attentive, and friendly. You won't have to wait too long for your food. I do enjoy myself when I visit and have been on multiple occasions. I recommend trying it! Let's not forget the famous cheesecakes!! Man oh man! What a selection!!! Just make sure you try one when you go! Nice portion size of food here as well.

Visited 6/17/23. Decided to sit on the patio as it was a nice day. Boyfriend ordered steak Diane and salmon. I ordered Cajun jambalaya pasta. Server seemed to be new and was unsure or seemed confused. Didn't get any of the free bread and beer took forever. My boyfriend food came out first and it was super cold and then I had to wait atleast 10 minutes for my plate to arrive at the table. Server asked how food was and told him food was cold and the overall experience and he got the manager. Manager Mrs.V made sure to make it right and had our food remade and also gave us complimentary cheesecakes even though I told her I would pay for the cheesecake so that was definitely a plus and made the experience that much better. Even though food was cold and my shrimp were overcooked and my noodles were also overcooked, and sticking together the errors the first time were corrected the second time with Mrs.V. I truly appreciate the customer service and how she changed the negative experience into a positive. I would have given 5 stars if all was good the first time around to include the food. 5 stars on the customer service and ensuring satisfaction but 4 stars on the food overral, but I would visit again and try something else.

I ordered the Americana Cheeseburger and it was delicious and cooked perfectly! My wife ordered the Cobb salad and she thought it was great as well. Service was really slow, (not the servers fault) but they seemed understaffed.

The food was great and we had an excellent server. It's a little pricey but worth it. We will go back again.

I ordered a lunch size barbecue ranch chicken salad at this location recently. The portion size was a decent decent enough for left overs and the salad was delicious. I typically dont order salads at Cheesecake Factory but I wanted to try it out and I was not disappointed. It was nicely seasoned and the onions that were included made it super delicious and crunchy.

We had a great experience here tonight! We went here for some appetizers, drink and dessert and everything was delicious! Our service Brian made our entire experience AMAZING! His customer service was topnotch! Will recommend it!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The place is nice and the food is delicious. The staff are very accommodating. A well recommended place to dine with family and friends.

I had the Vegan burger. It was interesting. I liked it. Would love to try some of the other dishes. The strawberry cheesecake was absolutely marvelous!

Tony, our server, was really great. He made sure we were taken care of. He was respectful and kind to all my family members. The other staff were really great. The food here is always good.

Absolutely delicious food and amazing ambience. The service was top notch. However there was a bit of wait for food and the tables are put too close to each other.

It’s been years since I’ve been to TCF. I remember it being good. This time just made it more solid. For starter, the complimentary bread were the best! Happy hour nachos were good, but if you topped it with steak, the price doubles. The calamari was the best I’ve ever had I thought, but then it just got crunchier and crunchier till the breading overwhelmed the squid. Still in my top three calamaris. The main entrees, not bad; they’re pretty good. My pasta was a bit over soaked and overcooked, but still good. Everyone else enjoyed theirs. Finally, we took home a slice of the raspberry cheesecake or something white chocolate…and we shared it, and it was really good. The last star was not lit just because our server was not really there when you need him. The bread though…👍🏼👍🏼 I’d come back again.

Just a great restaurant! Great food. Good service. Good atmosphere. Their menu is just full of a bunch of different items. So everyone can get something they want and it's about a 1 block walk from the parking garage.

I have always loved eating at The Cheesecake Factory. I’m a longtime patron at this establishment. Food is always delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. Somewhat of a cozy feel mixed with that modern experience. And I can never leave without a slice of their famous mouthwatering cheesecake, with so many flavors to choose from. Love this place 😁

Ordered steak Diane here. Received it with old, spongy, raw mushrooms that repulsively bounced back against the bite. Had waitress report complaint to managers(Patrick and John) who were non-existent on the floor for the 90 minutes we were there. Will not recommend, or return.

The cheesecake was yummy no doubt but for an miser Indian like me I felt like it was big dig in the pocket.<br/>The service is very good and mind-blowing.<br/>The ambience is amazing.<br/>

I've been here a number of times. The last one was this past June for my son's birthday party. Every time I have an enjoyable time. The food has been tasty and service fast and friendly. The choice of cheesecakes are unlimited. It is a little pricy but worth it.

Love dining here! Just recently moved to the area and was happy to see this franchise out here. I come here for lunch and dinner at mostly on Sundays. Food comes out quick and the servers are friendly. Try their apple crisp for dessert. Easily big enough to share but you won't want to!

The Cheesecake Factory is a place I feel I should hold in contempt for being a national chain, but I just can't find a reason to dislike the place.  Recently I had the bang bang chicken and shrimp and it was delicious.  I've never had a disappointing meal here.  The menu has so many options, you're bound to find something you like.  The cheesecake is good of course, but I prefer the simple cheesecakes to the rich indulgent ones with chocolate or caramel or whatever.  The atmosphere is lively and bustling and this one is in a good location being in the VB Town Center.  They even have some outdoor seating.   It's a good place for special occasions, so give it a try and see for yourself.

Just not worth it. So the service was good and the cheesecake was the best I've ever had. that being said, the food was just not worth the price. I've had better burgers from burger king and they didn't even cost me $12.50. I figured that a burger at that price should have been much better than what I ate. my girlfriend got the chicken salad sandwich which cost $11 and when it came out it was mostly lettuce and tomato with just a thin spread of chicken salad. I'll never be going back for anything but the cheesecake. I recommend eating dinner somewhere else then stopping by here for dessert.

Shrimp for the FOURTH TIME!!. I am not sure how I've gotten Shrimp in my Chicken Cajun Jambalaya Pasta every time I ask for CHICKEN ONLY. This makes the FOURTH TIME I've been to Cheesecake Factory and expressed a deep desire to the waitress and repeating to her several times, please make sure that it comes with CHICKEN ONLY and NO SHRIMP!!! Brought my food out tonight, and shrimp. Lots of shrimp. I told the manager to comp my drinks and I left. Too bad that when It does come out right that it is my favorite. I am not sure what else I need to do to not get shrimp. But FOUR TIMES NOW!!! What's the deal??

Excellent Family Lunch. Let me tell ya about an excellent lunch here recently. The family was in town and they had an errand to run down at Pembroke so after we were finished at the mall we walked across the VB Blvd and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.<br/><br/>The place was pretty packed for a Saturday afternoon as there were a couple of party's going on. We sat next to one of them however they pretty much done and weren't noisy. There were 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 children and even though they were busy our server was still timely and attentive, checking with us regally and keeping the drinks topped off, etc. Kudo's to her.<br/><br/>We started off lunch with an order of Tex Mex Eggrolls. Six of those came in the portion along with sides of guacamole and salsa. These were good but I've had better at other places.<br/><br/>I opted for a Cuban Sandwich for my lunch. My brother had a Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese and his wife had a Club Sandwhich. Let me just say the Cuban and Chicken Parmesan sandwiches were big enough to be 2 meals each. The Club sandwich was no slouch either, however it wasn't as big as the other two. This was hands down the best Cuban Sandwich I've had in recent memory. The Cuban included roasted pork, Swiss cheese, Ham, Pickles, Mustard and Mayo on a grilled and pressed Cuban style roll. The kids had kids meals which included a mini chicken sandwich with fries and a quesadilla.<br/><br/>Were we done yet? Sorta. I was Thanksgiving full, however my brother and his son opted to split a gigantic slice of chocolate cake. I sipped on some Cappuccino while I waited for both of them to explode. This was a super delicious lunch and I look forward to visiting again.

Typical blah CF food. Not allergy friendly. Greasy & bland -- consistent though.

Not a fan. As a local you could so choose something other than the processed food available here. It's really noisy too!<br/><br/><br/>-----03 Jul, 2013-----<br/><br/>Save this for dessert only. Noisy and crowded...the foods not great. Save your calories for the cheesecake. There are better choices at the beach then this chain restaurant.

BAD. It was my best friend’s birthday so we tried to make reservations, however they wouldn’t let us and told us that we could come in but with 10 people the wait would be an hour to an hour and a half. Upon arriving and requesting a pager on Saturday night at 5:40 we were told that our wait would be 2 to 2 and half hours. So we agreed to wait, telling her we would have ten people and left. Two hours into our wait (7:40) the pager had not gone off so we decided to check our time. The hostess said we had at least an hour and thirty minutes more to wait, making our quoted wait time doubled. We told her we had been told 2-2:30 hours to wait which she rudely replied was not true and that she had actually said 2:30-3 hours. My group waited thirty more minutes, so we had then been waiting for 2:30. I asked the hostess when we would be sat, she nastily retorted that she had already talked to someone from my group thirty minutes prior and that we’d have to wait another 45 minutes without even checking the tables in the restaurant. At that point I was angry, hungry, and tired and told her that she had told us 2:30 max so we were now over on our waiting time and for that matter over waiting. She snapped back that should wouldn’t have messed up something like that, but I assured her that three people from my party had stood and witnessed her say 2-2:30 hours. So were we lying? NO. Then she looked at the computer, backtracking and saying the party we were waiting for had just gotten up so it wouldn’t be much longer-it was refreshing that she actually checked her information about seating us that time. I reported what she said to my group and we waited five more minutes. When I saw the group we were waiting for actually stand up to leave- so they hadn’t even gotten up yet- and our pager buzzed. The table obviously wasn’t ready for us so the hostess flashed me a bitchy smile and corralled us into this little area behind the hostess stand where we were told to wait until someone took us to the table (which was still being cleaned). MORE WAITING. Standing where she told us, multiple employees pushed through telling us that we couldn’t stand there because we were in the way, not including the situation was an obvious fire hazard! When finally seated it was suspiciously large. Because it was set for 17 people! The was ten people, there had always been ten people, and we would have no reason to even mention the number 17! The incompetent little(as in height) witch of a hostess has nastily told me that she wouldn’t have made a mistake like that in regards to the wait time entered in the computer. Obviously she cannot handle a job in customer service or anything that requires elementary counting skills. The manager told assured us that she’d make our dinner worth our wait. We sat and waited 15 minutes before our drink orders were even taken and at least 45 minutes for our food. During that time a two top, a four top, and a six top were seating ten minutes after us and had already finished their food. Some even left! So we received a pager at 5:40 and didn’t see food until 9:30. One girl at our table ordered a burger and asked for no pickles, but surprise, surprise, she received it with pickles. It didn’t matter though because by the time she got it she had to leave and get it to go- nonetheless, the server forgot to bring her change back after ten minutes, but she didn’t have time to wait for it. We didn’t think we’d have to account on being sat at 8:30 and not getting food until 9:30. The manager’s way of making it worth our wait was only to pay for the birthday girl’s meal- which was nice, but all ten of us suffered and received nothing! So what I learned on my first trip to the Cheesecake Factory? Not worth the wait or price, staff is rude, telling everyone about how bad my experience it, and never going back!

Great food but terrible service. Sadly our server was obviously coming down w the flu. She gave it her best shot but think someone should have covered her tables

Great food, but, is always crowded for dinner and the wait time is ridiculous. Plus is pricey, I just go the for special occasions.

Used to love it. My mom, husband and I hit CF early this afternoon to beat the crowds (330pm) and were seated immediately. I've been here many times and have never had an issue, til today. My mom ordered onion rings that were completely forgotten until she reminded our waitress, our food was lukewarm (as if it had been sitting under the warmer for a while) and despite my drink being 9/10th empty I wasn't offered a refill. With our 3 slices of cheesecake our bill was $100 and it wasn't worth it. I'm not sure how the cheesecake tastes (we're saving it for later) but the meal itself should have been about $20. I was so terribly disappointed that we most likely won't ever go back. Which is a shame because I've loved the food here.

We came here after a trip to the beach for lunch. We were seated immediately and the service was absolutely fantastic! The food was good, and the cheesecake was amazing. The prices were a tad high, but it was a great treat.

Good overpriced cheesecake, terrible food.

A Tragedy.. What do you get when you wait in line for 45 minutes like a sheep and then wait a half hour more once you've ordered? A charcoal hamburger and disappointment. The service was very rude and they don't even make their own cheesecake. You'll enjoy your evening tenfold by staying home and making soup.

Avoid. Big noisy place, bland food, grossly overpriced. Don't bother.

Always a Good Choice. Always a great dining experience. My husband and I pop in to get a cheesecake all the time :)

You get what you pay for!. Yes, it's a bit more pricey than other places (though not more than anything else in Town Center), but the portions are at least 2 servings for the average person. <br/>Favorites among my family - Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad, Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Madeira, Asian Chicken Salad, Pear & Endive Salad, Cuban, Cajum Jambalaya Pasta, Fish Tacos. I'm a notoriously picky eater and they NEVER mess up my order.<br/>Service is always attentive and fairly quick, even with a full house. <br/>I can't fault it for being a chain.. it's a darn good one!
Dylan H.
The food is..good, the cheesecake is delicious, and the portions are huge. The selection may be too big though. There are so many options and nothing is great, it's all just...good. Definitely worth checking out though. Just don't forget dessert, as the dessert menu is just as large as the dinner menu. Also the seating situation is terrible. The tables are on top of each other and with the cost of the food, it's almost a deal breaker.

Great food...big portions...a little pricey though!!!

Outrageous Prices! Buyer Beware. The food is not worth it!. I was shocked. We recently went there for a command luncheon and was blown away when the bill came. The food was alright...but not anything to write home about. I had a lunch portion of a chicken entree. The orange chicken lacked any kind of orange flavor...all I could taste was peanut oil. Additionally, there was no sauce on the chicken. I had to ask for soy sauce! Ugh. I was eating fried chicken balls. Ordered a piece of plain cheesecake (6.95) and wanted some raspberry drizzle to accompany it....they charged me an extra 70 cents for a non-sweetened raspberry sauce. I had to add sugar to make it taste good. WTH. My coffee tasted like I was licking my foot....that was another 3 something. My soda 3 something. At the end of the meal the bill came and I was totally taken back. I hadn't eaten like a rock star...but my bill was $ 36.00 for lunch. Are you kidding me. It was not worth it at all. This place is all hype. I won't be going back.
Erica
Crazy prices. Not worth the wait or the money. We paid 83 dollars for LUNCH! Which the food isnt anything to get all excited about. The cheesecake is the best thing on the menu and you can get it half priced across the street at barnes and noble!
Kai Foster
$90 for lunch for2 people. Ridiculous! !<br/><br/><br/>-----14 Apr, 2011-----<br/><br/>Overated and Overpriced. The service was o.k. the food was edible, and well the cheesecake was no big deal. They can't compare to Junior:s in Brooklyn

First time at a Cheesecake Factory. Ordered the grilled eggplant sandwich - the bun was soggy, it was flavorless, and in dire need of seasoning, a sauce, something. And why is the eggplant sliced lengthwise rather than into rounds? It makes the sandwich very difficult to eat. My salad was wilted.<br/><br/>One of the people at our table asked the server what pancetta is... she ignorantly responded "It's an herb."<br/><br/>So - disgusting food, and a wait staff whose knowledge is questionable.
Jennifer T.
Meh. Huge portions of sloppy food.... I have been to CF twice. At first I was in awe of the space and everyone told me the portions are huge, the menu extensive and the appetizers were heavenly.<br/><br/>I never really found anything on the menu that jumped out at me and said "yum yum, order me!" The chicken dish I got the first time was huge, but kind of oily and I didn't care for the taste. The second time, I got a salad, and it was a disgusting mess of sauces, greasy meats, soggy crunchy bits and just drenched in sauce. I tried a few appetizers, most of which were good, but not really that outstanding. The menu just seems way too home-y in some regards (I'm not going to a restaurant and getting mac & cheese when I can make that at home) or too busy, fusing odd combinations of foods and ethnic cooking styles.<br/><br/>The only good part is the actual cheesecake. The plain-ish cheesecakes like strawberry cheesecake are really good. The Godiva chocolate cheesecake is my favorite and delicious -- the piece of Godiva chocolate that it comes with is a nice touch. The whipped cream is so thick and holds its body even if you have it boxed up to-go.<br/><br/>I won't willingly go there on my own, except to get dessert or pick up a cheesecake to take home... if I wind up meeting friends there, I will likely stick with an appetizer instead of trying any of the entrees anymore.

Overpriced

Yes, it is a factory sized place but you just have to enjoy the wonderful treats. Nice folks.

WALFFE IS AWESOME!. I haven't eaten here other than for brunch so this is just for that. The waffle is awesome. Get it with the fresh strawberry and cream. you will not be disappointed
Michael K. Burton
Great burgers slow service... Not worth the wait. It's only redeeming quality was the awesome cheesecake. Next time I hope i get an experienced server...
Quinn
Over priced!. The best thing this place has does not even make the menu! Plantains! Other than that, skip it. Not worth the wait.
Jamie Clark Cunanan
Huge menu!. Their menu is like a novel. If you go once and don't like what you order, go back and order something different.orations are large, and easily make a 2nd meal for lunch or dinner the met day!

--Purely overrated; this ridiculously expensive, "blah," "run-of-the-mill," mediocre, typical, American cuisine establishment is definitely best described: "all bark, and no bite." Unoriginal, non-innovatIve, commonplace & recycled ideas for some of the most uninteresting, unappetizing, and EXTREMELY OVERPRICED, mundane, bland, tasteless dishes, ever. You'll find yourself highly disappointed at the end of a very long, dull, frustrating, and rather appalling night once you've realized that you actually fooled yourself into lowering your own good standards just to put up with: a rude, unfriendly and very unhelpful, curt, impatient restaurant staff; a nearly 2 hour long linewait (last time I went there was with a group from a high school club Id belonged to; that was over 4yrs ago & I knew then from firsthand experience that they had this really strict policy of NOT accepting any sort of customer reservations); very boring menu plate options, with even more boring and flavorless, looong, slooowly made dishes (how on earth could it actually take 45 minutes for a near-empty restaurant's kitchen to make a simple ceasar salad entree??), and, to really top your spectacular night truly off, a now-completely, cash-emptied, wallet/purse?? Yeah, i would readily reccommend the equally overpriced, yet much better quality, atmosphere, and definitely waitstaff, at nearby Pembroke/Town Center location---"Ruths Chris", ANYDAY, over some plain Jane, unfulfilling, all around disgusting, "cheesecake" place.
Sara Sanderford
Highly overrated. We paid $75 for two people, for LUNCH... And we shared an entree. The pasta was ok, kind of oily for white sauce, their house bread was disappointing, the gracamole was flavorless. The only good thing was our server. She was cheery and friendly. Highly overpriced, overrated and unworthy. We won't be returning.
Jim Gitman
Not worth a wait.. There are a few interesting dishes here (the semi-traditional fish tacos are probably my favorite), but none worth waiting for. I reserved a table recently and still had to wait twenty minutes to get in, and was then seated at one of those tables where you're sharing a couch with strangers and their table is about a foot away from yours. I left immediately. I wouldn't eat from a trough and I won't eat here again.
Mike Z
Great place with a large menu. I eat there twice a week. They make a great chopped salad, miso salmon, bang-bang chicken and shrimp, and I like to polish my meal off with the Godiva rich chocolate cheesecake. If there is a good bartender on duty , I may order a long island. Over all a good place to get consistently good food.
B.Mak
3/5 Star - Only place for good cheesecake. Pros: Cheesecake<br/>Cons: Nothing Special<br/> <br/>Thoughts: If they can mess up the Cheesecake, I surely like to know why they are still alive. Therefore, until another pastry shop that comes up with a nicer slice of cake, this will do<br/><br/>Alternatives: If you are just there for an original slice, you may want to try Barnes and Noble across the street, they serve Cheesecake Factory cheesecake at half the price.
That Guy
In the name. You think the cheesecake would be more than good given that it is in the name. It is good, about as good as the frozen stuff you get at a grocery store. The only difference I noticed is that it costs four times as much. This can be said of all the food, which you know going in, but if you are going to get gouged you expect to get something out of it. Apparently the only thing you get out of it is saying I ate at the cheesecake factory, like some defacto class statement.
J. M. Clark IV
CCF never disappoints. How can you go wrong with the cheesecake factory?!!? Pricey yes, but you know this going in. I will add that it was the first time I had their guacamole and DAMN!! Coming from someone born and raised in Houston, TX, saying this was one of THE BEST guacamoles I have had, REALLY says something!!
